Love this tune, nice to see an actual fiddler play the opening reel. Nice!

What a tribute to Michael. Not an easy piece to play. High 5 to these young musicians.

It requires some more than good chops to dare to arrange this mythic tune for big band and to play it live, excelent work!! Michael, wherever he is, sure is proud

can anyone recognize the setup the two tenor soloists play on?

They are both playing on Selmer Mark VI tenors. The first chair is using a Silverstein t-ligature and I believe the second chair is using just a Selmer metal ligature. I have no idea what mouthpiece the first chair is using, maybe a Theo Wanne. The second chair I believeeee is using a Meyer Hard Rubber mouthpiece of some flavor. Hope someone can help fill in the gaps for you, (or correct me if im wrong lol).

They should really teach more false fingering work. The unison moment at 5:50 is just atrocious.

Nathman (First chair) was prepared for that part. The other tenor completely botched that part.
