PS. The tip with typing the "Di" in "Discord" (ディ) was supposed to be a plug for our Discord server discord.gg/deg7eBq !
PSS. The above tip also applies for sounds like "Fa" "Fi" "Fe" "Fo", being typed as ファ、フィ、フェ、フォ, but simply going "fa, fi, fe fo" also works
Thanks for this, it helped me out a ton.
ありがとうございました。本当に便利です!
ありがとうございました。タイピング上手になった。
ありがとうございまう!タイピングはめちゃ上手になった~
thank you, this helped me alot.😄
Thanks man! I'm new to Japanese and I purchased a keyboard to practice typing but in every guide I saw them switch to IME. However, I had no idea how to find that option and now I have. ありがとう!
Glad this video was able to help solve your issue!
Nice video, trying to learn it in duolingo and struggling a lot especially with the kanji and small versions of kana.. this’ll help thanks
Duolingo is not a very efficient way to learn languages, I recommend trying something like Anki if you really want to speed up your Japanese learning! czcams.com/video/DcY2Svs3h8M/video.html
The nice video that is very useful and on point of what I always wanted to know. Thank you so much.
You're very welcome! Glad my video was helpful to you!
Thank you so much for this video, wish I had this sooner when I first started learning
You're very welcome! Glad you found the video helpful! 😁
right when i need this thanks !
Glad you found this helpful! :D
Thank you.
thank you a lot man !
You're very welcome!
ありがと
in case anyone is wondering, also works in linux btw, just the shortcuts have to be set manually as mocz (the IME programm) expects the eisu, kana, ... keys a japanese keyboard has
ありがとうございます
Such an amazing and polished video! It made setting it up so easy and answered all my questions. The only thing I'm curious about is what are your thoughts on Windows IME versus Google IME? I saw you had both set up, which do you prefer?
Thank you! Glad the video was helpful!
I prefer the Windows IME. I don't really see a difference between the both of them so really either is fine.
Already knew everything in this video except the 8:50 part +1 xd Still trying to figure out how to change the keybinds myself or somehow make あ default when switching to Japanese
ありがとうございます🤠.
One extra useful keyboard short cut is alt+` changes to raw keyboard input for something like gaming without having to switch to English input.
The shift+caps should do the same thing because it just toggles between English and Japanese.
I had a problem. I typed "k" and "a" and got "のち". Because the "Kana-Input" was activated by default. I deactivated it and I could use the normal Romaji input. Just right-click on the Hiragana A or Romaji A and deactivate "Kana-Input".
I really appreciate your video! Actually helped me a lot bro, Thanks!
and Can you tell me how did you change your PC into Japanese language?
Hey there, sorry for the late reply, I've been busy studying for the JLPT but now I'm free!
.
Glad you enjoyed the video! To answer your question, please watch 1:49
thank you for making this i was confused about how to type づ. i tried typing dzu but it didnt work lol. i saw in this vid that "di" makes ぢ then i figured that du would make づ and yeah it does !! the keyboard shortcuts here is also sooooo nice
You're very welcome! Yea there's a few select kana that are just a pain to type unless you know the way to actually type it, and I don't see anybody else talkin about them so wala!
面白い!
ありがとう。
いえいえ😎
Fortunately YT has a half-speed setting... Wow, this was fast. (I'd love a channel called "Juls but slower" or something.)
3:25 Can I ask, wouldn't the bottom sentence with the dentist be missing a topic particle?
あなたはすごい。
a little too fast for me to grasp but still an amazing video!
I actually do have a kana keyboard, but I probably wouldn't actually type like that since I type pretty fast with standard QWERTY already.
I ended up buying Kana keycaps after this video because they looked cool too lol. But basically nobody uses the kana keyboard anyway so it's no biggie ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
「でぃ」は「dhi」でも打てるよ
知ってたらごめんね
You can also type "dhi" for "でぃ"
Sorry if you know that.
知らなかった!教えてくれてありがとうございます!
I'm a decent typist in English, but my rōmaji input is a lot slower.
Also, I find inputting “XN” for ん more intuitive, especially for typing ん+な行, like “OXNNA” for おんな and “HAXNNOU” for はんのう.
Practice makes perfect!
.
Also, it didn't even occur to me that you could do "xn", good to know! To each their own for that!
@@JouzuJuls I think the reason I prefer XN is because interrupting the Ns with my left hand involves less counting. It's only up to three with a difference of one, but I still don't like math haha!
the なな banana card in the anki deck ahhaha
Did all that. This very moment I'm typing with the romaji (A) turned on, and it won't try to convert to kana. What can I do?
Please refer to 4:00.
Also make sure you did the step at 1:54 and actually waited for the IME to finish downloading.
The STRUGGLE I had trying to figure out how to keep my keyboard in Japanese and just switch between kana and romaji mode... 😭 教えてくれてありがとうございます!
Congrats on having that figured out! Glad I was able to help! どういたしまして!
I'm wondering if they'll ever add more 変体仮名 to the system besides the "Ye" one.
Unlikely. Most 変体仮名 does not even display properly on most fonts despite them existing in Unicode. Not to mention nobody actually uses them.
.
It's quite similar to the phenomenon known as 幽霊文字, except in this case, the words CAN actually display properly. Stuff like "閠" doesn't actually exist and is a typo of 閏 for example
@@JouzuJuls I mean, there are some fonts that display them. I'm just wondering if people will care about tradition enough to add them to the system. I think I mentioned this in your server before but displaying them is very easy. Getting them recognized as actually valid kana is the issue, since they're not in the IME system and are not accepted as normal kana readings for kanji.
Umm after i downloaded Japanese language and switched to it, when i left click the "A" button it doesnot change to romaji mode and the shortcuts also doesnot work please help me if you know how to enable it. I searched the entire internet but couldn't find a single working solution.
Also when i tried to type in feedback it somehow types in japanese but literally anywhere else it only types English

こんにちは
how do i type ツ?
"tu" on katakana keyboard or on the hiragana keyboard type in "tu" and tab down.
@@hozz its "Tsu".
@TR1GGY I knows that's the pronunciation of the character and that you can also type "tsu" but I type "tu" because it's slightly quicker.
If there is a reason I should be adding the s, let me know. :)

Even though Japanese people have kana keyboard, almost 100% of Japanese people just type in romaji (how it should be in my opinion)
Yep, even I recently got some Kana keys but stick to the romaji input. Quite frankly I don't know a single person that uses Kana input.
How to you type a different word in japanese like わ to や
