Great new sport to get into. But be careful when you have a fish on the line like that. I am not trying to scare you or anything either, just when a fish is hanging by the line your rod is like a loaded spring. If the fish gets off it will fly up at you at insane speeds. My friend got a hook really deep into his hand this way when he was reeling in a bass, and we were hours away from medical help. To make matters worse the highway closed due to a massive accident, so we had to literally pull it out with pliers. You can get around this by using a net. Also, look for a rubber net and not a string one. This way your crankbaits will not be caught up in it. You can also use pliers or something else if it gets caught really well. Just never put your hand between a fish and a loaded rod. I have seen this happen more than once.
