it's actually not silly, it's true, my mid section is large, I was podium twice at CF Games but barely abs. Now I've lost 12 lbs and I barely have abs ,, mid section still big. I call it ugly body syndrome. Very functional body but NOT an aesthetic body. I'm a bricklayer, I can work like a horse all day everyday but am the chunky horse. When I wrestled HS I mostly won even though the opponents always looked more 'built'. I was shorter, thicker in middle, big glutes and big upper thighs. I couldn't believe how crappy I looked at 2016 Games compared to my 19 opponents. But out of 7 events I had a 1st, 3rd, 4th 4th & 5th. So I beat majority of taller more built more muscular guys at everything but I look like a guy who doesn't workout and needs to go on a diet. I can't figure it out, it is what it is. Ugly body
@@davidgantz9378 don’t be to harsh on yourself look at the positives and how far you have come . Your body is unique all your organs and everything is working hard to keep you alive . I just don’t like it when people think negative about themselves of course everyone has flaws but it ain’t an ugly body . I don’t understand why people are so fascinated about being and looking a certain way focus what your body does for you and start loving yourself . I don’t have a perfect body but I got to my CrossFit gym 5 times a week plus I do bootcamp as well , all those challenges make me feel alive there were times I almost died 😂in some session but I didn’t stop , you just gotta keep going . I know you might have different view that is okay all I am saying is love yourself and don’t put yourself down . Just keep going and give yourself some credit … stay strong 💪
There is nothing wrong with him being honest and dissatisfied. Its healthier to be honest and share these feelings with other people who also feel the same. We can be highly competitive and have "sick physiques" in others minds. But that doesn't mean we can't want more or different. Diminishing people honestly expressing themselves and letting others who feel similar is a dangerous psychological game. Let people speak, feel and share... it helps others know they aren't alone. Their feelings are real.
Yep, that will never leave unfortunately. I'm 6'5" & 120kg & naturally very muscular but if I feel like I have a bit of love handle I won't take my short off in front of anyone.
Before I found CrossFit, and was just getting into working out, I went to a globo gym and the personal trainer put me on the Adonis plan. He didn’t want me to exercise the obliques because the goal was a skinny v shaped waist. Form over function, it was my dissatisfaction with all that that made me fall in love with CrossFit.
I have pants from a year ago starting CrossFit that fall off easily without a belt on. I would love to gain more weight but not loose the 8pack. My goal would be to have your shape!
Almost 10 years ago since I lost my weight I was 70 pounds heavier back then, still feel like a fat guy. I’d like to say “you’re looking good” without sounding gay… 🤔Sod it, looking good BRO.
testosterone causes the waist to thicken over time. Even women with PCOS have thicker waists. It is what it is Jason. Wear it like a badge of honor. It shows your experience.
I notice most high level CrossFit athletes have thicker waists, male and female. I think it’s the constant core stimulation and volume that goes along with the movements. You look alright man…
I can completely relate! Thank you for being real and sharing. 💪🏾👍🏾 You are a real inspiration.
Thanks!!!
Genuine. Thank you for being real.
Grateful to share.
Meeeee tooo bro...
Power abs for the win, and the occasional wtf!

Tacking on mass! lol
I’m 6”1 200 pounds, but I feel like I can’t workout enough.
I get that.
U know why u feel like that is because u need to stretch….. u got lots of muscle squeezing u so u feel that
interesting thought.

🙏
What is it about CrossFit that gives men and women crazy thick waists?
I've always had one 🤷♂️
It’s the deadlifts
Try to focus on how you feel.
i will be honest i just lost 21lbs n totally get wht ur talking abt! i dont have a 6 pk but i am get wht u mean!!!
Congrats on the weightloss!
@@JasonGrubb Thanks so much Champ/coach!!
Buddy, I am similar to you, and by Looks I am 60% on the road to being “like” you and I hope I will get to be as *fat* as you 🙏🤞🏻💪
Hope you do brother!!
I feel fat cuz I am fat and look fat cuz I am fat and i really ducking hate it!!! The only way to eliminate the stress that making me fat is die.
Go hit the gym and get on a diet! Their have been morbidly OBESE people who have done it who are SHREDDED AF now! You don't have any good excuses!
Or go to the gym? What are you 12 years old?
I'll take this in the spirit I think you were intending and give a chuckle. There is always hope to change my dude.

I've recently started noticing this, too... also, maybe the sport favors those of us with solid builds 🤔
for high level - that's HGH
Jason, most top Crossfitters are big thick men.. it’s a result of the deadlifts and the heavy weight squats.
It’s what “strong” looks like
Find God brother. all this will pass.
Some journeys are not so cut and dry my friend.
crossfat
nice
Do more cardio and lower abs then
Not sure my actual physique is the issue here.
But don’t believe your lying eyes bro!!
