    For all of you who wanna get started but feel like the cold is unbearable, start with taking a very hot shower, and spend the second half of your shower with as cold of a shower as you could bear. Then eventually shorten the hot shower until you're doing mostly if not all cold shower. Eventually, through time (6-12 months), you'll get "cold adapted," where you get used to it. If you wanna fill your tub with cold water, you'll receive the same result with 38 degrees (2 min) as you would with 51 degrees (10 min), based on studies, so I personally chose on the higher number myself, since I'm not a stupid masochist! Lol

  • @systemsoversymptomsvisionw9806

    Broccoli, yes. Eggs? No. Not in my world anyway, but everyone has their own beliefs these days... Eggs are ridiculously high in cholesterol and simply aren't worth it to me. Great story, though! I actually have a similar journey. I went from a heart attack and type 2 diabetes at 245lbs to curing my diabetes (and all other more minor issues) and getting down to 155lbs. After 2 years at that weight, feeling great, I started working out again (post covid). Now I'm 167lbs, very fit, with definition in my arms, shoulders, etc. There's always room for improvement, though! As with many guys, I should do more for my legs, ha ha. As I was bulking up, I also gained a tiny bit of stomach fat as I was afraid of eating too little to support my muscle-growth goals... so trying to balance that out....

    I’ve been doing the same thing for about two years. This is the first video I’ve seen that someone does the same idea. My freezer is much larger, and I use 5 gallon pails of water. I put 5 pails about 90% full of water into the freezer when I get home from work, around 6pm. By 4am when I get up they usually have frozen about 2” or so on top, and the water inside them is near freezing. My bathtub is very deep and spacious, so I just pour those into the tub and top off with cold tap water. I can usually get the water to about 2-4c, so very cold. It takes about 30 min for the remaining ice to melt, so I do breakfast while waiting

    I love this video. It's so helpful to hear you break down the various movements and skills. Please do more "behind the reps" videos! (This is the only one I see on your channel.) Many of your fans (me included) aren't games-level athletes (yet?), but we 40-somethings are striving to become fitter, stronger, faster at CrossFit, maybe compete in a few local and regional competitions. Often the devil is in the details, the nuances of how you approach a move or adjust along the way. We often have these little questions about foot placement or which way to turn our hands on a HSPU. For example, by watching this video, I learned how long to "rest" between HSPU reps (you took about 10 seconds between coming off the wall and then going back). When I do a series of reps and I start to fatigue and take a break (KB swings, push press, PUs, etc.) I am standing there wondering... is five seconds enough time? Maybe I should rest for 20? Is 20 seconds too long?!? Love this "behind the reps" breakdown of the various moves. Hope to see more. Thanks for sharing.

    What do you normally eat pre & post-workout?

    • @JasonGrubb
      @JasonGrubb Pƙed 17 dny

      I don't really have specific pre-post meals or snacks. Just my standard breakfast, lunch and dinner. But I do drink LMNT pre-workout with beta alanine, and Black Label whey protein with creatine.
