    Love all your videos. Would love to see much more about the ve pumps. I have a 92 w250 that im trying to fix up and build into a hauling daily. Doing injectors right now and checking injection timing. Then will be looking into everything else ( based on my limited knowledge of these i suspect a bad injector) also built my own little black diesel set up from your videos. One day ill travel up from the valley and come bring you some buisness. Again love all the information you have to share with the rest of us.

    Very good information. It would be very interesting to see you tear one down and show what we can fix, like those shaft seals you mentioned, and what can't be fixed without re-calibrating on a bench.

    Would also love a video if you ever get the chance to record setting injection timing on a ve pump. I think i have an understanding of how to do it. Set cyl1 to tdc. Push in dial indicator. Crank back from tdc till dial stops. Set 0 and crank back to tdc. But a video on how its done would be awesome because most are not very well shown. Again. Love the info you share with all of us.

    So if my truck has a rough idle at start up I need to put tension on the gov spring ? Or back the star off as in loosen it a bit ?

    • @CUTTERUPROB
      @CUTTERUPROB  Před rokem

      Depends on the rough idle. Hard to tell you what to do without knowing more

    These VE pumps are on the BMW M21 like in my 85 524td. Ive turned up the boost and now i need more fuel. I assume the principles behind switching out the fuel pin and spring that work for the 12V Cummins should deliver positive results to my BMW as well, right?
    Thanks for the videos on the VE.

    What does the Gov Spring do/change? 3200 rpm seems a bit low, doesn't it? My Diesel engine does 4400 rpm with a Bosch ve.

    • @CUTTERUPROB
      @CUTTERUPROB  Před rokem

      It’s depends on the engine. The stock 12v Cummins ve pump is 2500 ish for defuel.
      So the 3200rpm adds 500ish before defuel makes the truck a lot nice to drive

    So what other kinda mods do you have to do to that pump to try an sqeeze 400hp out of it along with a set of compounds or a big single turbo

    • @CUTTERUPROB
      @CUTTERUPROB  Před 3 lety +1

      without having the pump built , gov spring, fuel pin , fuel screw are the easy ones

    My VE quit working suddenly. Wasn't the fuel solenoid. Don't see any bent linkages removing the top. Has fuel to it, fuel pumps out the FSS hole when cranking, was full of fuel when I took the top off. I would be interested to see one taken apart as it would help me to understand why mine not longer pumps fuel to the injectors.

    OK, well, wait a second: So what is the big physical difference between governor springs? What did you do, just re-install the same spring?

    • @krytios1
      @krytios1 Před 23 dny

      Just gives you more rpm

    Have you ever found fuel in the fuel pin cavity?

    • @CUTTERUPROB
      @CUTTERUPROB  Před rokem

      Yep. There is a oring in the body that can be replaced

  • @ranniemacaraeg6780

    To replace just the o rings for the throttle shaft do I still need to take the top of the pump or can I leave the top in tact?

    • @CUTTERUPROB
      @CUTTERUPROB  Před 3 lety +1

      you can leave the afc housing on if that's what you mean. But you do need to pull the case top off as the shaft has to come out the button as you see in the video
