South Indian style bottle gourd recipe cooked with lentils, spices and herbs. Sorakkai is the telugu and tamil name for bottle gourd. It is one of the most used veggie in Indian cuisine.
Kootu is a lentil based dish from South Indian cuisine we which is most commonly made with veggies like bottle gourd, cabbage, pumpkin or with mixed veggies .
Sorakkai is one of the favourite veggies. This sorakkai kootu is great to serve for lunch with plain rice. Also goes well with chapati.

I tried this today Simply superb. Some modifications though like I cooked for 1 whistle. & Coarsely Dry grinded the masala adding it after vegetable was cooked seperately in a kadai in 1 tsp coconut added one red chilli & kadipatta then added cooked vegetable & garnished with coriander. tasted awesome👌👌😊🤗

Looks good. U can add the coconut blend stuff @ the end as coconut should not be heated or cooked thru. It can be added after dal & lauki is cooked. Add coconut chutney & cilantro and cover & leave it for few mts. Serve hot.
