He even mentions why Mario is rendered in 3D in first fight
Can we talk about how Mario's dance in the level up section is him doing the Mario (swinging his arms from side to side, than taking one step).

Man--hearing Yoko Shimomura's music for this game get an update is so nice. I always really loved this soundtrack. When I was a kid, I recorded the original soundtrack on a tape recorder (alongside FFVI's).
I love his game so much I played it a lot as a child but now seeing it it such great imaging is breath taking i can't wait to replay this for myself

At first I wasn't sure about changing Mack to "Claymorton" but it definitely fits the naming conventions better (e.g. BOWyer, SPEARdovich, AXEm Rangers, etc).

There's actually a secret trick when you fight Exor. Just take out both his eyes and then use Geno's 'Geno Whirl' to instakill Exor in less than a minute.
Culex = Kazuya Mishima
I know nothing about this game other than Geno, Mallow and Smithy but Culex straight up looks like something you would see in Earthbound or Super Smash Bros. with all that detail in its design. A straight up badass.
Actually he's from Final Fantasy since both games are made by Square Soft

He’s not from Final Fantasy. He’s more of an homage to it. Kinda like how all the original characters in kingdom hearts are. The music itself in the boss fight is from Final Fantasy 4.

I don't really understand some of the name changes like others. What's wrong with Earth Link when Cloaker jumps on the giant cobra?
I think they changed a bunch of names because they originally came out weird due to the translation for the SNES version, but personally I think those weird names had a lot of endearing charm and wish the remake carried them over.

If you want... I don't think in either version the thing was both Claymorton and Mack. But yeah, I think the boss' name, whichever you take, is referring to the guy atop the blade.
only video of the remake i can find with the optional Booster boss fight. anything else i can find is only for the post game.
not that i can blame anybody, most people clear his little minigame, and i never knew that fight existed until like yesterday.😅

Why is Mack called Claymorton?
Can you skip the Mack Fight also in this remake??
Nope most of those glitches got removed and you can't even do the star glitch die then keep on using them since when you game over this version does NOT keep the exp/lv ups you had when all party members are killed all at once.

Yep. It was a reference to the Mack the Knife song, which the worldwide audiences might not understand. Just another of Woolsey's cringe dad jokes.
Claymorton is a weapon inspired name, like Bowyer, Speardovich (Yari means Spear in Japanese) or the Axem Rangers.

and Mack the Knife is still under copyright BY the original singer whom they wouldn't allow it to have the boss kept as Mack the Knife.
Btw the original game game out in 1995 so while the Axem Rangers I believe were based in Super Sentai/Power Rangers for some reasons their NO BLUE Axem Ranger which is weird when Power Rangers 1993 to 1995 first aired in the USA the 5 rangers were Red Blue Black White and Yellow.
But at the time Mario RPG got released David Yost the Original Blue ranger Actor of Power Rangers already left the show itself.

@@veghesther3204 the boss was never called Mack the Knife, though. That's just a mandala effect. It was just Mack and the knife was the visual pun.
I don't think they cared too much about the colors when they made the Axem Rangers. In 1995 the Super Sentai was Ohranger (Zeo) which had a green ranger and the previous one was Kakuranger (Ninja/Alien) which had a black ranger. Then again Super Sentai is much older than Power Rangers which was on season 3 by then while Super Sentai started in the 70s. It's like making a reference to Spongebob or Doctor Who, something that has been forever on TV.
