its more of a giant unit thing ive noticed. auto resolve hates big units such as dreadsaurians, the different versions of giants etc and usually kill them first even if they are the most probable to live the battle.

Pretend the skink is a bird, which it practically is. Crocs cannot survive without birds to eat their parasites
imagine being the burning wind faction at the end. Everyone on the continent has been torn apart by giant alligator monsters...... it's a scene out of hell itself.... and suddenly this 7 foot lizard monster diplomat walks in to your capital like "got a message from the boss. you and us? we chill. we chill."
how do you even respond to that other then a meek "thank you????"

I genuinely resent how poorly most of the Lizardmen units perform, compared to how it feels they should. 8-foot dinosaur men, born with peak human experience and genetically engineered to never surrender?: Mid-tier infantry with bad stats in exchange for decent hp and weapon strength. 15-20ft crocodile men, engineered to destroy the forces of chaos?: Mediocre at best. Dread Saurians, the creatures so powerful that even Lizardmen can't control them without Slann mind-control, and which single-handedly hunted dragons to extinction in Lustria?: Fragile, and generally underwhelming.
The only one that is strong are Chameleons skinks
I feel like they were better in TW2.
But i think its due to 'balancing' that these problems arise. When in lore, the lizardmen only lose because of an incredible series of unlikely events, coincidences and plot holes.
They're meant to be generally small in number, but really powerful, when as presented, a bunch of chaos worshippers can actually beat them.

@@williammitchell6254 No, not bait. I mostly play Lizardmen, so I use Saurus plenty, and yeah, they are good. But they are shorter than humans and can lose to plenty of human infantry, when lorewise they should be 8ft tall, and able to easily outmatch any human soldier.
What about end game croxigors they seemed to have a ton of buffs like every croxigor had terror and +45% missile resistance. So maybe the lore croxigors are more towards the end of the game croxigors with all their upgrades and buffs

Nakai just running around and not staying in one place for long is pretty lore accurate.
Some units just seem hard programmed to die in auto resolve, it also goes for the skaven doomwheels

Bloated corpses don’t die, they explode from sheer happiness
Could be worse could be tzeencth where the auto resolve straight up lies to you killing units.

To be honest, the dread Suarians are much more crocodilian than the Kroxigors themselves
Or at least I never ever saw any crocodilian walk on two legs and Dread Suarians at least walk like a true Crocodile so yes they are counted as crocodiles
Dread Saurians are super terrible against anti-large infantry. Their massively long horizontal footprint on the ground means they have more spots to be surrounded by agents dealing bits of damage. Whereas, say, a giant or Hierotitan have large vertical footprints and can't be surrounded by very many anti-large infantry, so they do well despite CA's intent.
Both vertical and horizontal monsters get crushed by missile fire.
I've never played through a Nakai campaign, but that Golden Tributes quest battle is the same battle as Gorok's quest battle for the Shield of Aeons, just playing as one of the other lizardman armies. That's kinda cool, I never knew that.
Nakai's charge animation always makes me laugh, such a happy murder machine.
You have to wonder how auto resolve works when the rest of the army it totally and completely unharmed, but one unit just gets dunked on and it is the toughest unit of the lot.
Some really dedicated and heroic peasant archers, I guess.

The key point I can take away from all of these themed challenges is that a big line is like the only working formation

i justr came back to tell you (and thank you personally) for making this video and showing the devs(wich credited you in the patch notes) the bug with the settlements and the buffs they gave, nakai is best boy and now people will make the right desicions with him!

The tool tip is for the Vassal's buildings, aka they will make buildings that focus on those units for their armies/defenses

@@Manslayer-eo1nhmost of them mediocre. That was the running joke back in Warhammer 2, Lizards got constant DLC but none of it was any good.

@MandalorianRaider tbh some of the most fun I've had in warhammer 3 (excluding Boris Ursus) was playing as Kroqgar or Oxyotl plus after they get lord Kroak they're pretty beefy.
@@MandalorianRaider their DLC are more unique than almost any other faction. Oxyotl and Nakai both have really unique faction mechanics.

There is an odd thing that happens at the reinforcement line that does stop units from coming in if you park at it, though it think you have to basically win the battle
with the gifting settlements to old ones mechanic, I found that the green buildings also provide better garrisons

A Traditon I have with Nakai is to always name the Stegodon at the start Bruce, Bruce is treated like a Lord, so if he dies it's either game over or load previous save. Long live Bruce the Lad and The Wanderer!

Yep. Im on a campaign too where i try to conquer china with the empire (as theogenist because wulfhart sucks for this) and rename the citys to japanese one...no coincidence. I really wish CA would put Nippon in it or just import a small map version of shogun 2.
