I live in the Netherlands and had 2 AMF Harley's the 175 and the 250
and also 1 Harley 1200 shovelhead lots of fun back in the 80 s..
Later in 2003 I got myself a new 883 roadster and that was my city hooligan bike smile..for years...( S&S kit )

I bought one of these for 630.00 in the summer of 1976. No other 175 could catch me and some 250s got embarrassed

That thing runs beautifully. Curious as to why you'd auction it off. Doesn't it belong as part o f the museum exhibit with the condition it's in? Either way the new owner will definitely be ecstatic to own her. I know I would if I currently had the scratch available.
P.S. What model helmet are you wearing? Looks real clean. Classic. No gaudiness or crazy shapes and spoilers sticking out all over. Looks to work well with upright seating position too.

I have one same year but mines orange paint job is not as good as condition I had to redo the seat only has 885 miles on it if that’s true I love it
One of my all time favorite bikes ! Did someone change the exhaust ? I seem to rememember those had a high stock exhaust pipe from factory ? Of course that was darn near 50 years ago and I don’t remember everything correctly these days
From what I understand this is the 175 SS model which was set up more for street use than dirt. It has the lower exhaust pipe and front fender is lower or closer to the tire and he said it was geared higher for street use. I think you're referring to the 175 SX model.
Are the handle bars tweaked?!
It looks that way but may be some kind of camera distortion... idk? They looked fine when he parked it inside.

Harley should never have abandoned the pre Aermacchi 2 strokes.
After WW II Germany was stripped of all its patents and every motorcycle manufacturer including Harley copied the DKW 125, 123.2 ccm 2 stroke engine, output of 4.75 HP.
The Harley-Davidson S-125, the Hummer and THE RANGER were cool machines.
Aermacchi presented Harley with a plethora of options including a 250cc twin 2 stroke liquid cooled racer late 60's early 70's.
There's debate about Harley's intentions with Aermacchi 2 strokes and Sprints being used to fill a niche and I get that however and yes it's hindsight, Harley Davidson Execs dropped the ball.
Can you image a 2023 Harley Davidson liquid cooled 2 stroke enduro lineup?
