    I have had my continental for nearly 2 years in the UK. Sometimes I wish it had ABS , but beyond that it is truly gorgeous. I was about to replace it with a street cup Triumph for performance alone , but now I have seen the 650 twin.....................!!!! BTW , can the commentator STFU?

    I own a GT and my main problem is the fucking service centers
    2. is the worst ground clearance
    3.vibrations when u cross 130kmph
    4.lack of abs is disappointing
    and cons:-
    1.sexy handling and clipons serve the purpose
    2. fuel economy is decent for a 535cc bike(23kmpl)
    3.I have personally clocked 148kmph and i am 95kgs but the bike can go more but it vibrates like hell
    4.looks man!! that is a head Turner in traffic
    5.the power is pretty good for535 but could have been more!
    conclusion:- A very happy GT boy . love my baby till peaks... it's going to turn 1year now in December!!!!

    The CGT has a Harris frame that is stiffer than the Classic/Bullet, so are the forks which have a brace. Being a café racer the shocks are more sporty, and don't suit potholes. The Bullet/Classic was designed as a heavy trials bike, so it soaks up holes, and has always handled well, it still does, as good and often better than modern japanese bikes, from experience it certainly handles rough roads better than a Goldwing which tends to slide about like a tea tray. There again the Honda 400F handled like a cat on rails, the Classic is not far off that mark (seriously, everyone underestimates just how well these RE bikes handle).
    The CGT gets Pirelli which are tubeless but have an inner tube because the wheels have spokes, spoked wheels have a more compliant ride than cast alloys, hence spoked wheels are considered an upgrade. Pirellis have practically zero wet grip whereas the /export/ Classic gets Avon Roadrider tyres (also 'tubeless' with tubes) which stick like glue; Avon are made in England, we enjoy rain here.
    Tyre pressures 27F/29R psi, not what it says in the RE handbook, at lower pressure the front tyre will try to roll off the rim whilst cornering.
    Harsh braking can mean the pads are still bedding-in, or need cleaning. Under-braking probably down to the watery treacle RE seem to use instead of brake fluid, change it to DOT.4 pdq.

    I too own a GT & would like to mention you one thing that the fact which said that the tyres are tubeless is incorrect.
    Initially i too thought that tyres are tubeless when i purchased it but when i got puncture in the rear tyre,then i got to know that it has tube inside when i went for repairing. And repairing a puncture of the rear tyre is a nightmare on this bike. It will take a lot of time just to repair the puncture because the normal puncture repairing guy won't be able to seperate the rim and the tyre and take the tube out. You will have to get the rim & tyre seperated with the help of machine and then get the tube out & then you can fix the puncture & after that again you have to fix the tube inside and put the tyre and rim together with the help of machine. Its truly a pain in ass

    - I have had this bike for 3 and half years. This bike is more about the 'Torque', 44Nm of it. I have managed to get about 40kmpl on highways with a consistent speed of 80km/h. There is a tube inside the tyres to support the alloy and spoked rims. The suspension is tuned to be stiff so that it doesn't bottom out when riding hard. Why would one need another Exhaust? It is an single cylinder engine.

    Its not that the brakes are so good that it locks up so fast. Its just that the brakes on all Enfields are crap. They are just too wooden at the lever. They cant be squeezed and modulates. Its more like an on off switch rather than a regulator.
    All enfields except himalayan have this issue

      1) You ned to change whatever rubbish RE put in for DOT.4 brake fluid. (2) The rear drum (Bullet/Classic) can be fixed perfect by making the cam bush slide, it is supposed to slide and is equipped with lock nuts to allow it to do so, is was designed to slide to centralise the shoes, RE paint the thing to the brake plate, doh!

    • @jeffslade1892
      @jeffslade1892 Před 6 lety +1

      An experienced rider will probably never notice nor use the ABS, which is there to stop the wheels locking up, which is a really bad thing on a motor bike (because you then hit the road in a painful manner). I have nothing against ABS, it has been fitted to our cars for many years, but bike riders always have more feel for what is happening between tyre and road. On a car if you keep pressing hard on the brake during an emergency stop, the ABS will be defeated, this is intentional to provide maximum braking, and so it is with ABS on a bike.
      The soggy wooden feel is the wretched liquid RE use instead of brake fluid. The brake on any RE can be fixed right easily.

      Chances are your dealer has a cash-flow problem and can't get any more until they've paid the bill for the last ones, and hence they are out of stock.

    You shouldn't speak in the background, causes irritation. And the tyres are not tubeless, plus the fuel indication changes because the fuel meter is on the left side of the tank. It's not bad. Just measure it according to the position of the bike.

      @divitchaudhary7765 Před 6 lety +1

      Pavan Muthanna okay. I am saying this because I own a Continental GT. I think the bike that you reviewed is having the issue. The service guys are useless. To avoid repairing a bike, they just say that it has an issue... By the way, what do you think about the balancing of the bike? When you leave the handle bar while riding, does it lean towards one side?
