This buff has made him a monster in the early game and still lethal late game. But yeah he struggled a lot more in the late game so I guess it’s alright.
Early Game Jungler Martis is a nightmare to fight against. It's even more deadly when your team don't have reliable CC skills to fight against. I always had to play mind games with other Martis users since I use Minotaur (I mean at least the coming update he'll get more reliable CC)
I think the fact that you have no chance of outplaying his ult dmg if you are low which can lead to a triple kill or a maniac in a team fight is what makes him scary to deal with for most ppl
I think Martis buff is quite balanced because his skill sets and passive makes him somehow weak in late game against burst damage heroes, 2nd skill CC inmunity and damage reduction isn't enough. Of course, that's the balance about being strong from early-late game in terms of damage but prone to CC like Dyrroth
I haven't been playing for weeks now, but as a Martis player, I can tell that these adjustments really compensates his late game performance. And you can take my word for it since I have been using him for years now. Prebuff, he fares well from early to mid game, but in the late game, he falls off devastatingly, to the point that he's more well off as a pure tank than a fighter, which is a counterintuitive situation. And very well with other newly adjusted heroes, the first few adjustment may be his overpowered stage, but I can tell right now that as the days go by, these adjustments will benefit him long term, having him able to fare pretty well against other good EXP lane heroes.

There are a boatload of possible reasons as to how that came to be. Nevertheless, it's expected to have people surprised within the first few weeks with Martis's new standing in the meta, causing some results like the one u had.

True, I recently tried Martis jungle with most of my items being defensive items and only had one attack item (which is Blade of Despair) and he could still deal good amounts of damage in teamfights
The reason why martis is not in the meta after so many buffs even this one is because of his mobility, Yes his second skill is mobility but its super slow and very easy to react especially in high ranks and once the 2nd skill is on Cd in the middle of a teamfight or you're running away, you're basically dead.
He deserves to be this good after being very irrelevant for like 3 years, pro teams stopped picking Martis at around 2019 and now he’s on the verge of becoming part of the meta again. The long awaited return of the Ashura King!

I think they should bring back the stun on his skill 1 or bring back the speed on his skill 2 to make it easier to catch enemies who are running from him
The new martis can go full tank build and still deal insane damage with full stack passive. But you can still add items like malefic roar or war axe during mid-late game if armor penetration is needed.
I made a video about this, but also Elgin… Martis will proc BoD passive whenever any enemy under 50%hp is in hero lock range. Unlike every other hero in the game, martis doesnt have to damage them to get the passive up.
Hey elgin about the adjusted heroes, Leomord actually didn't get adjusted. If you read about his passive it's still at 35% instead of 50% like the update says. Hope this gets fixed by Moonton

Me too I already tried martis leomord harith and terizla....for leo his damage is insanely crazy but for me its balance having 50 percent on his passive melt hero creeps and turtle easily without jungling emblem....
_finally, i can die in peace yet again_ Why i think martis really works in the jungle than in the sidelane, is bcs he is a very aggressive snowballer with a strong ultimate that secure kills easily (same as karina). U just need to reach level 4, and ur alrdy gonna wreak havoc on them. If ur in the sidelane, u wont be able to use his ult much bcs ull be staying in the exp lane most of ur time splitpushing than joining teamfights. But when he’s in the jungle, not only it further improves his snowball capability, but also makes him so ahead of enemies and can easily gain the extra bonus phy atk from his passive as he levels up. Where in the jungle, they always level up faster than the rest of the team, therefore reaching his max 150 phy atk fast.
What if: They made his 2nd skill function like cecillions 2md skill. He can cast it 4 times at max but only if he hits an enemy hero . Each cast of the skill will make Martis dash in a designated direction, the damaege increases per dash. If he doesnt hit an enemy hero within a time limit the cooldown will be shorter and the skill will be back to normal.

Rn phoveus is a good counter for martis. Since all of his skills are considered dash (too slow for a dash), martis would have a hard time escaping from phoveus in the middle of teamfights
Yep they might buff him but It boils down again to teamwork and kill participation, no matter how strong your hero if your teammates are toxic or a solo player eventually you'll end up losing.
I think it's fair, as a Martis main. He's a Fighter, 50% sustain, 50% Damage. Don't expect them to have brutal damage. His passive fits well when it comes to taking objectives.
Martis' buff is kinda good now since he needs that extra attack damage for his passive when surviving in lanes or maybe farming and i think he's not that too op since he can get killed easily without teammates and for now it's decent
i feel like the attack speed on martis is relatively useless, as there are rarely any martis players that rely on that, but hey i might be wrong, i’ve never played martin so i can’t say much so i think the devs went on the right direction with adding bonus physical attack with it.
Use the unbending will and first build BOD and malefic roar you can build a bloodlust to get some lifesteal and others tank item use flicker for more survivability thats where no one can stop martis if you avoid a longer cc..
I think many don't fully know what makes Martis one of the hardest fighters to kill. Here's the thing. The added buff on his passive makes his skills deal more damage. Damage that can be converted into heal using spellvamp. Martis is a skill caster that relies on basic attack for extra damage. He mainly gets his burst damage from his skills, especially his ULT that can snowball any enemy he faces with the right condition. Martis needs only 2 to 3 attack items, the rest are for defense. This makes him more sturdy ontop of his 60% damage reduction from his 2nd skill, which has a fairly low cd, making him one heck of a force. Martis excels in Teamfights, where he is able to make full use of his ULT through last hitting enemies. With his 2nd skill, he can't be so easily bursted down by enemies, even if they ambush. With his ULT, he can pop enemies like a balloon and chase escaping pests away. TLDR: use defensive items to take advantage of his 2nd skill and be more teamfight oriented. He's not a BURST hero like Gusion, but like Karina (before the revamp).
I mean like, with Martis, you technically just have to get the to half health essentially. Just keep using the 2nd skill, then youre basically OP. Hes good, but now hes godly
Exactly what I was going to say. I played against an enemy Jungle Martis and the exact thing happen. He rolled us over in the early game but can't finish the game. In the end, my Cecillion got 400 stacks and the inevitable happened
As a martis main that's what I'm afraid of. Being too popular and nerf him to the ground like before and mistakenly saying he's op where he still needs proper lineup and good teammates to become effective. Imagine how many years I.... No We waited for this..

To me killing is just removing one pest that annoyed me for getting my objectives, if all pests removed and your team didn't focus on the objectives then those are another mongrels we faced. Number of kills won't impress me it's just like destroying a pitiful hive of pests but the shiny medal of victory will fascinated me.
He is balanced. It's just people don't know how to counterplay him right now since Martis hasn't been used that often. Just like how Guinevere started. No one knew how to counter her since she was a fresh new hero at that time but once people know how to counterplay her, she almost immediately fell off from her spotlight. Once people get used to Martis, I'm sure there will be different voices being heard about him.

@@seiju6621 High sustain and burst type hero are a great counter. Freya and Esmerelda are hero that Martis struggles a lot. If any burst type hero ambush him such as Saber, Eudora and Aurora, without any defense item he is easily defeated. Martis has great survivability but once that skill is in cooldown, he is a sitting duck.

With the extra attack from his passive, you can replace a damage item for a defense item, and still deal the same amount of damage pre-buff, theoretically. It is true that Martis is a sitting duck once skill2 is in cooldown, but that won't be a problem if you can strategize the optimal moment to use his skill. It just takes enougb practice, and the same is true for virtually all the heroes.
Elgin. he is still the 1 of the best hero for me. who other player misunderstood for rank game. due to martis late game abilities before. but he can still put up a good fight.
I just came from a game where the enemy got an over powered Martis, and I cannot help but try to fight off a nagging feeling that he is about to get a nice skin in the near future, because that is not how dominant he should have been. No Shot. Moonton is so confident in the level of IQ that the majority of their players possess that they don't even feel they need to be discreet about these kinda filthy business tactics. Here's what's gonna happen (and not just with Martis, any hero that is being over buffed for their momentary gain): 1) They will give enough dosage to the player for a few weeks or days to make it feel like the new skin is gonna be worth it, because you have been doing so great with Martis, and you could continue flexing it. 2) They will nerf that same Martis after you've purchased the skin and made them a huge money, and you'll realise you didn't do so well with Martis because of your skills, but because they buffed him beyond a reasonable margin for some commercial purpose. Now, you're starting to suffer the losses on records and you're not even in the meta. 3) You realize you've been clowned.
Tried it earlier and got 19 kills and a W. His early game potential is scary and you can really capitalize on it pretty easily. With proper items you will find the late game manageable although yes there is a struggle in the latter part of the game
Its true martis is broken right now...almost, if the developers think of giving him more lifesteal because seriously martis is useless when the game goes longer due to lack of hp and martis is actually a fighter but you can't even feel his hp increasing when he kills an enemy.
I've been playing him in my recent rank matches and here's some tip *Don't use his 2nd skill's phase 2 early* - The best combo that I learned while playing him is 121223 How? Well Martis skills defenitely hurts but his basic attacks hurts more Basically, activate his passive first by using his 1st then wait like a few second before using his 2nd so that his stacks won't disappear when his 1st became available. Also by not using his 2nd phase 2, skill 2 will be avaible immediately after cd "So when to use 2nd phase?" Use it only when chasing enemies or escaping because it is martis's main blink skill. If you use it, expect enemies to chase after you because you are vurnerable without 2nd skill Also, not using it will make your jungling faster because you don't have to wait 8s of cd to use his 2nd skill. For emblem, I recommend the jungling one where it increases damage against lord and turrets Recom. Build is you can choose between pure dmg, pure tank, or semi

ive been using Martis for a long time now, and let me give u a tip, dont use his 2nd stage of 2nd skill, thats your escape button if u can use it correctly, basically dash skill if u running out of options, also knocks enemy away from u, ofc when u are 1v1 or even 1v2 u can use it for extra stack, cuz martis can pull of fight alone even when u have more than one opponent against u. I currently use damage build with spell vamp, can be quite usefull, but tank build is really good too, when u have good damage dealers in ur team. Thats small guide, hope it will help
He is quite balance...at late game he still balanced and still possible to be countered...not as Powerful and bursty as paquito but against fighter I say martis now a fighter king
If Martis' mobility needs a buff, then apply the 60% steady movement SPD boost for 6 seconds that can be done by casting either his 1st skill or also 2nd skill.
One advice from me is not to use his second phase second skill,since cd is longer if you use both the phases, But if you let the second phase die out,you'll get it back up again in like 2-3 seconds, Which will help with jg clear a lot more
Elgin used him as jungler but I'm pretty sure he is op when played as exp cause with flicker you can counter against being squishy and can also do crazy combos giving him ability to fight in late game.Overall martis is too OP right now.
op, nubs dont realize this but martis had everything even before the buff. Just by making his skill pass through walls surmounted his only shortcoming by miles. On top that free item passive. He destroys pretty much everything by himself early

@@vincentplay25 it doesn't, there's something called "lane freezing" he'll be underleveled to sustain martis' damage if you know what you're doing
My Argus still very weak. His base basic attack damage is still below 200. It's only 185. That's 155 without the 30 from his ult.

His whole stenght, remains in standing steal after combo, since he can deal tons of damage with his boosted atack speed
You should've build tank on him. His adjustments are good with tank items. Use it once and see the diff(ice retri only).
Before the buff i used him as a tank roamer alot, now it is better even as a tank jungler.

No you can't counter him, especially in late game, he deals tons of damage while being very very tanky.
I think martis main items rn should be focused on lifesteal, spellvamp and tank items since he has enough damage.
His cc immunity is one of the things why Martis is scary and his Karina like ultimate makes it even worse

Use the unbending will and first build BOD and malefic roar you can build a bloodlust to get some lifesteal and others tank item use flicker for more survivability thats where no one can stop martis if you avoid a longer cc..
I think many don't fully know what makes Martis one of the hardest fighters to kill.
Here's the thing. The added buff on his passive makes his skills deal more damage. Damage that can be converted into heal using spellvamp. Martis is a skill caster that relies on basic attack for extra damage. He mainly gets his burst damage from his skills, especially his ULT that can snowball any enemy he faces with the right condition.
Martis needs only 2 to 3 attack items, the rest are for defense. This makes him more sturdy ontop of his 60% damage reduction from his 2nd skill, which has a fairly low cd, making him one heck of a force.
Martis excels in Teamfights, where he is able to make full use of his ULT through last hitting enemies. With his 2nd skill, he can't be so easily bursted down by enemies, even if they ambush. With his ULT, he can pop enemies like a balloon and chase escaping pests away.
TLDR: use defensive items to take advantage of his 2nd skill and be more teamfight oriented. He's not a BURST hero like Gusion, but like Karina (before the revamp).
It is not overpowered. This change just allows him to be actually become a hero instead of a minion in the late game.
I mean like, with Martis, you technically just have to get the to half health essentially. Just keep using the 2nd skill, then youre basically OP. Hes good, but now hes godly

Exactly what I was going to say. I played against an enemy Jungle Martis and the exact thing happen. He rolled us over in the early game but can't finish the game. In the end, my Cecillion got 400 stacks and the inevitable happened
As a martis main that's what I'm afraid of. Being too popular and nerf him to the ground like before and mistakenly saying he's op where he still needs proper lineup and good teammates to become effective. Imagine how many years I.... No We waited for this..

To me killing is just removing one pest that annoyed me for getting my objectives, if all pests removed and your team didn't focus on the objectives then those are another mongrels we faced. Number of kills won't impress me it's just like destroying a pitiful hive of pests but the shiny medal of victory will fascinated me.

He is balanced. It's just people don't know how to counterplay him right now since Martis hasn't been used that often. Just like how Guinevere started. No one knew how to counter her since she was a fresh new hero at that time but once people know how to counterplay her, she almost immediately fell off from her spotlight. Once people get used to Martis, I'm sure there will be different voices being heard about him.

@@seiju6621 High sustain and burst type hero are a great counter. Freya and Esmerelda are hero that Martis struggles a lot. If any burst type hero ambush him such as Saber, Eudora and Aurora, without any defense item he is easily defeated. Martis has great survivability but once that skill is in cooldown, he is a sitting duck.
@@ranaoblivious2122 that's why this recent buff is a game changer for martis. With the extra attack from his passive, you can replace a damage item for a defense item, and still deal the same amount of damage pre-buff, theoretically.
It is true that Martis is a sitting duck once skill2 is in cooldown, but that won't be a problem if you can strategize the optimal moment to use his skill. It just takes enougb practice, and the same is true for virtually all the heroes.
The buff made him popular again. Time to search for another forgotten hero now.

Elgin. he is still the 1 of the best hero for me. who other player misunderstood for rank game. due to martis late game abilities before. but he can still put up a good fight.
I just came from a game where the enemy got an over powered Martis, and I cannot help but try to fight off a nagging feeling that he is about to get a nice skin in the near future, because that is not how dominant he should have been. No Shot. Moonton is so confident in the level of IQ that the majority of their players possess that they don't even feel they need to be discreet about these kinda filthy business tactics.
Here's what's gonna happen (and not just with Martis, any hero that is being over buffed for their momentary gain):
1) They will give enough dosage to the player for a few weeks or days to make it feel like the new skin is gonna be worth it, because you have been doing so great with Martis, and you could continue flexing it.
2) They will nerf that same Martis after you've purchased the skin and made them a huge money, and you'll realise you didn't do so well with Martis because of your skills, but because they buffed him beyond a reasonable margin for some commercial purpose. Now, you're starting to suffer the losses on records and you're not even in the meta.
3) You realize you've been clowned.
Tried it earlier and got 19 kills and a W. His early game potential is scary and you can really capitalize on it pretty easily. With proper items you will find the late game manageable although yes there is a struggle in the latter part of the game
This is a balance buff for martis, if he get nerf no one will use him again specially in a rank game.
Tank Martis with his buff and Bloodlust Axe is now possible in the current meta.
Its true martis is broken right now...almost, if the developers think of giving him more lifesteal because seriously martis is useless when the game goes longer due to lack of hp and martis is actually a fighter but you can't even feel his hp increasing when he kills an enemy.

Well Martis skills defenitely hurts but his basic attacks hurts more
Basically, activate his passive first by using his 1st then wait like a few second before using his 2nd so that his stacks won't disappear when his 1st became available.
Also by not using his 2nd phase 2, skill 2 will be avaible immediately after cd

Use it only when chasing enemies or escaping because it is martis's main blink skill. If you use it, expect enemies to chase after you because you are vurnerable without 2nd skill
Also, not using it will make your jungling faster because you don't have to wait 8s of cd to use his 2nd skill.
For emblem, I recommend the jungling one where it increases damage against lord and turrets

Maybe they should add a shield too when martis kills an enemy hero using Decimation.

ive been using Martis for a long time now, and let me give u a tip, dont use his 2nd stage of 2nd skill, thats your escape button if u can use it correctly, basically dash skill if u running out of options, also knocks enemy away from u, ofc when u are 1v1 or even 1v2 u can use it for extra stack, cuz martis can pull of fight alone even when u have more than one opponent against u. I currently use damage build with spell vamp, can be quite usefull, but tank build is really good too, when u have good damage dealers in ur team. Thats small guide, hope it will help

I like these recent changes to Martis, but I still prefer to use it as a tank/roamer instead of a Jungler or a sidelaner

After grinding martis the only probpem i've seen is the slow animations and skill casting of the skills 1 whole combo can easily take out a fighter
Argus shall be the one receiving such buffs he has bad atk speed growth, atk growth and small movement speed
If Martis' mobility needs a buff, then apply the 60% steady movement SPD boost for 6 seconds that can be done by casting either his 1st skill or also 2nd skill.

Have you tried jungle martis? Yes, he is amazing and I have been trying to spam him as many times as possible.
Tank build Martis is the best in early game because of high damage and tanking ability and is almost unkillable in late game

One advice from me is not to use his second phase second skill,since cd is longer if you use both the phases,
But if you let the second phase die out,you'll get it back up again in like 2-3 seconds,
Which will help with jg clear a lot more
Elgin used him as jungler but I'm pretty sure he is op when played as exp cause with flicker you can counter against being squishy and can also do crazy combos giving him ability to fight in late game.Overall martis is too OP right now.

op, nubs dont realize this but martis had everything even before the buff. Just by making his skill pass through walls surmounted his only shortcoming by miles. On top that free item passive. He destroys pretty much everything by himself early
