In Mafia III the taste of the past it's well expressed . It's almost artistic. But looks like it has many simplified things, maybe something was wrong like they decided to cut production money or to cancel the project but was too late so they released as soon as they could make it playable , with some bugs and very simple animations and collisions . Texture and graphics are excellent btw

when I comes to driving and car aesthetics, mafia 3 nailed it. the steering wheel stayed in the position you turned it. same thing applies to watch dogs.

Yeah but GTA is like 1000x better than Mafia 3. Mafia 3 is repetitively boring, very buggy. Even GTA SA, a game from several years ago had better details and was less buggier than this garbage. Only pros of Mafia 3 was that it had good graphics, awesome soundtrack. Thats it, it does have a decent story but not the best. Mafia 2 was better. Your outfit won’t even show in some cutscenes. Tons of bugs man.

You missed several details
In GTA there is a honking animation while in Mafia III there is none.
In Mafia III character is shifting gears sometimes.
In Mafia III when you break headlight or tail light by a small collision you only break the glass,but the bulb is still alive. It is very noticable on tail lights.
And in Mafia III when you kill a cop silently without other cop witnessing it the whole PD wont be magically alerted.
And also there are witnesses calling cops.

Everything is better in GTA V, except gunplay.. I enjoyed the brutal knife kills and shotguns mostly in Mafia 3, in GTA the gunplay is almost recoilless and boring it almost feels like shooting a straight beam of bullets

The driving physics on Simulator are much better than GTA V too, also the police ( if they actually cared about you breaking traffic laws ). But yeah GTA triumphs in pretty much all other respects.

Both games were actually good in their own way, but to be honest I prefer GTA V
Mafia 3 was horribly repetitive, but the gunplay was solid and the story was good.
People tend to think GTA V is the Holy Grail of open world gaming. It's a good game, but also has plenty of flaws too.

I personally loved Mafia 2 because i am younger and it was the first game I played but i still like Mafia 1.
I want a remake of Mafia 1 where they add some more content like some more small sidemissions. Lost Heaven needs to be renamed to a normal city name. The city needs to be based on Chicago. There should be a bigger countryside with motels, farms, petrol stations, mountains and so on. There should be also be a horse race track where you can bet for horses. At the end where the protagonist from Mafia 1 dies we need to see Joe and Vito killing him in Empire Bay.
There need to be bars, small casinos, different cloths shops for different classes (rich, middle, worker class) and you should be able to buy shoes, different hats, pullovers and suits etc..
Mafia 2
First the map. It needs to be freemap and you can diside if you want to buy a car, do a sidemission or the main story. There should be bigger distiricts and new one but you still need to feel like you are in Mafia2 and know where exactly you are. There should be are railway and subway system where you can travel to the countryside or in to different districts of Empire Bay. Empire Bay needs to be renamed to a normal City name and needs to based more of New York. In the countryside there needs to be a racing track, motels, farms, mountains, a army base that you cant enter, a prison, forests, a airport, some villages and one small town. You should be able to use the busses and taxis aswell.
The Story. First you start with 2 small crimes learning the basics till Vito gets arrested then you go to Italy in 1943 and fight there 5x longer then in the normal MAfia 2, against Italian and German Fashists. Then you are back in Empire Bay and do the missions till you get in prison but some more then in the normal game. Then you do much more missions together with Joe again in the 50s till the end of the normal Mafia 2. After the 9 Chapter there was a cut where you saw many missions you couldnt play. The same was after Vito, Henry and Joe startet the drug buisness. There we saw how they did drug missions that should be playable in my Mafia 2 Remake. After that you go to New Bordeaux in the late 50s and early 60 where you find Joe and get stress with the Italian in New Bordeaux wish should be a bit changed version of Mafia 3 because its a bit earlier. In Joes advatures there were many new characters that should be seen in the basegame. The parts of the map that were open in Joes Advantures should be also parts in the base game. When Vito is in prison he should meet Jimmy or in Empire bay when he is out of prison.
In New Bordeaux you take over the city but with much more cutszenes and not allways the same.
New Bordeaux with Vito and Joe can also put into the third remake I want.
Weapons. There should be some weapons added like the M1917 Revolver, a Springfield M1903, a Sten that is used a lot by the Irish like the MP40, a Browning M1919, a BAR, a side by side shotgun, the german M24 handgranade and many melee weapons like a knife, baseballbat, brass knockles, cleaver, nightstick and a pipe. You should be able to shoot out windows and diside if you want to be the driver or shooter. If the game is also set in New Bordeaux there should be also weapons like the M14, M76, AK47 and the UZI. You should only be able to put 2 small handguns under your suit the rest need to be stored in the trunk of your car, at home or one big gun can be hold in the hand like in MAx Payne 3. Guseppe can modify your weapons by giving your M1911 a extanded mag or a very expansive suppressor that can brake. The M1A1 Thomson can get a 20 and 30 round mag, the M1928 a 50 and 100 drum, the side-bide-side can be cut off, the boltaction sniper rifles can get a scope and the Sten and MP40 can get different versions like the Sten Mk2 and 6 and the MP40 the MP40 or the MP41 stock. The Grease gun, the MP40 and Sten can also get a suppressor in the late game for assessinations like the M1911. You can place the MG42 and Browning M1919 at the back of the pickup and shoot the gangster following you. Like in Mafia 1 if you reload to early you loose ammu. You buy ammu like 45ACP or 9mm Parabellum and then can use it for all guns that are shooting that ammu. YOu should be able to buy a weapon lisence and show it to the police officer.
Vehicles. There should be added some more american and euro cars. The euro cars are more expansive and can only be bought in the car shop. There should also be some cars from Mafia1 driving in the poor disticts and the countryside and some older cars from MAfia3. There should be 3 driving types arcade like Mafia 3 a bit, normal like MAfia 2 and symilator like MAfia 2. If you have a spare tire with you you can switch it at the street if not you have to phone somebody to take the car with him. The customazation should be much bigger with more disigns, car parts, colors and so on. The ability to make a cabrio a normal car and a normal a cabrio. You can only store so much vehicles like they would fit in to the garage. There should be bigger trucks driving around like it was plant before but cut later because of the size of the map. There should be boats aswell like in Mafia 3. There should also be some motorcycles.
Buying. You should be able to buy cars, apartments, houses, garages for cars and boats, mansions, food, forniture, tech like tv or radio, different cloths of 40s 50s and early 60s, weapons and ammu. You can customize your houses and so on. You put the furinture, weapons or food into the trunk and bring it home. You can also go to a farmacy and buy painkillers and so on for usitch in the battle. There need to be bars, stripclubs, small casinos, different cloths shops for different classes (rich, middle, worker class) and you should be able to buy shoes, different hats, pullovers and suits etc..
You should be able to race ant the race track or doing street races through the mountains. You should be able to bet in dog and chicken fights aswell as playing in a casino. There should be many different buildings you can enter like the Empire State Building, museums, a libery, police departement and so on. There should be different kinds of cops like detectives, undercover.. There should be sometimes older policecars driving around. There should be also ambulance and figher fighters that come to help.
You can buy more different food, newspaper where is much written about your crime, cigarrets and ciggars. You should be able to go to fightclubs, a gym or a barba shop.In the nature there should be more animals.There should be a respect level. If you kill police or civilians it goes lower if you kill gangster or help people it goes higher. If it gets higher the prize in shops gets lower, the police will more likly give the chance not to pay the fine and so on. When you get very high in the Family you can have a own driver or can phone like in Mafia 3 a guy who will bring you a car out of your garage or a gun. For that you need to go to a payphone and wait some min. There should be also a skill level if you shoot more with pistols you can reload faster or shoot with one hand better. You can control the recoil better, The same is for other guntypes like melee, automatic or shotguns. The same is for lockpicking. You can lockpick better things and so on.
Difficulties.
Eazy: mini map with police and gangsters showing, showing where to go and simbolce of shops or payphones. showing how much HP you have
Normal: mini map only police showing, showing where to go, showing HP, symbols like shops
Hard: mini map with out showing police, only the point showing where to go no line, no HP showing, no symbols, showing only the amount of magazines not the prizes number or bullits
Extreme: no info at all even no ammu in the HUD
need to open the map and the menu for getting all the info. Its for the Mafia series lovers.
Driving rules are on the harder difficults. Traffic lights, driving on the right side, destroying objects and other cars, speed limit can cost you a fine.
There should also be more different cop cars like undercover, sheriffs and special forces with bigger police trucks. If you have a colorful car or one that is a Hot Rod or a very expansive european car the cops will faster identify you then in a normal car that many drive in that area.
There should be a Jimmy DLC where all the missions in from the Batrayl and Vendetta are in. The need to be cutszenes and a real story. He also gets the cars from Vegas and hot Rod pack.
Joes DLC the same with more cutszenes longer story and more info about him and other families. If there are other DLC as well one where you play a triad would be cool or playing a new character from New Bordeaux or Empire Bay that was in the Korean War or in the Vietnam War.
Multiplayer
Should come out later after release and contain all 3 maps Lost Heaven, Empire Bay and New Bordeaux, where you can go by train or plane to the other 2 cities. At the beginning you diside if you want to be legal working like police, ambulance, firefigher, taxi/bus/tram/train driver( New Bordeaux and Lost Heaven only have Tram) . You can change the job by going to the different building like police station, post office or firedepartment. The Illegal side disiged if they want to be Irish, Italian, Afro, Japanese, Chinese or Latino and then do there missions and earn money for there family with other players and bots.

Mafia 3 has a bunch of hidden little details other games lack like the front tires remaining turned when you get out of the car.
The third property is actually in gta 5 but it is not working for players car, if you look to a car park you can see some wheels tuned right or left.

Jumping out of a car: More realistic in GTA (it even reduces your health and it can even kill you). Same thing applies for getting hit by a car (in GTA, you fall down like you should, in Mafia 3, you're just pushed forward and lose a bit of health, standing almost like nothing happened) or falling from height (in both games, it can kill you, but in GTA, the character screams, flaps its limbs around, trying to prevent the inevitable, in Mafia, Lincoln is quiet and just falls straight down, lands on his feet and falls to the ground dying), or being set on fire (while GTA character will fall on the ground and roll to extinguish the fire, Lincoln will just wait for the fire to stop).
Tilting your wheels: Possible with mods in GTA, however, though not being present in the base game, GTA V is one of the best games when it comes to details. It's a living world that lives even without you. There are literally hundreds and thousands of details, while Mafia 3 lacks almost any sort of detail.
Planes: In GTA V, you can fly planes and helicopters and you can see them flying around. I'm pretty sure in Mafia 3, you can't even see any planes flying. You can see bunch of them near the end of the game, on the airport, in the distance. You can also see the one in this video, and guess what, it's not even solid... Also, when we're talking about transport, GTA V also has submarines. That means more than it seems it may mean, it means underwater world, which Mafia 3 doesn't have. Talking about underwater world, let me also mention it is very plentiful. There are no crocodiles, like in Mafia 3 (which are the only animals in that game), there are dolphins, orcas, whales, different kinds of fish, sharks (which will attack and kill you, if you don't defend yourself), and there are also animals on land (dogs, cats, deers, bores, mountain lions, cows, pigs, chicken and more), in the air (different kinds of birds) and there are even insects.
Crashes and vehicle damage: More realistic in GTA V.
Destruction of the environment: More realistic in GTA V. Sparks aren't the only thing. The falling lamp post damaged the car. And pedestrians reacted to it, some ran away, some just said "WTF" and walked away. In Mafia, not only there were no sparks and no damage done by the lamp post, NPCs didn't give a fuck, they didn't even notice.
Fire hydrants: More realistic in GTA V. The water not only looks more realistic, it has actual pressure. Lighter cars can often be partially lifted by it and almost flipped to side. And character or anyone walking over it will get punched by the water and fall to ground. Lincoln just walks through, probably doesn't even get wet (not sure if you get wet in GTA V, but I'd say you do). I'm not even gonna comment on the reaction of the NPC, because he just walked by as if nothing was going on, didn't even look at it.
Car destruction: Again, more realistic in GTA V. Mafia 3 has solid mirrors, wow. Doesn't excuse the fact they fix themselves after few shots (and after some time of not shooting them). We can't really compare this. How do we know all cars in Mafia 3 have solid mirrors? And how do we know all cars in GTA V don't? Even in the base game (not counting the huge amount that was added in Online), GTA V features few times more vehicles than Mafia 3 and a lot more customization. And if you check what the windows are doing when shot, if you check what body does when shot, GTA V is ten times more realistic.

Downloaded Mafia3 now when it's free on August-ps+, and man it's a dissapointing game. The first mission starts off Ok then after that it's just the same thing. This game should:
1. Not been part of the Mafia series since it's so vastly different from the other 2.
2. Been a linear game with action packed missions since the shooting and combat is actually good.
3. Clay not being an unstoppable killing machine. Tommy Angelo and Vito was believable characters with great archs.

Suuulan im actually enjoyng it.. apart from some visual bugs its pretty good, good story, if you mix main story with side missions you wont get bored! Love the oldschool vibe with the soundtrack, and mopars everywhere! Didnt try it on easy.. but on normal/hard and driving on simulation is a bit better/challenge.. for free its awesome deal :)

I'm playing Mafia III now that it's free, but I'm a little disappointed. I'm going to explain things I do not like about Mafia III. One. You can not modify your character in anything, well, yeah, just a few outfits, no hairstyles, beards etc. come on ... Two. Very repetitive and boring missions. Basically all missions are the same. Three. No ramdon events. Four. A lot of bugs and fails, etc, for example: Trying to run over a person sometimes is impossible, or when you start a mission and there are shootings and civilians at 5 meters but do not run away, do nothing, basically continue walking as if Nothing will happen. The same happen with the police. There is a shooting, you can see the blue icon of the police next door and they do not do anything! they keep walking as if they did not hear anything. Five. You can not eat in a restaurant, or take a shower, etc. You can not do anything out of story mode and secondary missions. Six. No online mode Seven. Mirrors. I think I'm finished. There are many other things, but I do not remember now. When I saw Mafia III for free on PS4 I could not believe it. I had heard people say that it was very good videogame, others compared it with GTA V, but after playing it, now i understand why it is free on PlayStation.

The updated ps4 pro version of gta v was released 2016 so in short gta v and mafiA3 are equal in terms of the technology during their time.. ofcourse if your using gta v on ps3 you will say mafia 3 is better.
