I played "Witchcraft Survivors" the last couple of days. It feels and looks like Vampire Survivors. (15-20 hours of gameplay to max everything)
I would also suggest these VS games if you haven't played them already: -[Keepers Toll] with it's 1.0 update "soon" and -[Scarlet Tower] with it's 1.1 update and future DLC.

This game mode and other riot games is a good indicator that they are skilled at making more types of games than just their MOBA. It's a good sign for the MMO that they can make PvE gameplay this satisfying. Upgrade paths and progression that feel this good.

Riot is pretty good at improving existing genre of games, their biggest issue is their balancing. They seem never get balancing right ini every games they publish
@@fahmiluthfi7991 They have hit a super niche spot in wich having bad balancing is exactly what sells for them, they intentionally keep some things unbalanced only to nerf/buff them in the next season, forcing people to play other champs or return to old ones. Most people like this as it keeps the game "fresh" without adding too much content (all they add is generally new items and a 2-4 new champs each year, its little new content compared to eveything else already in the game). Theyve hit this very weird sweet spot of making sales of an old product while having this facade of rebalancing constant updates, kind of like minecraft.

TFT and Underlords were inspired by Auto Chess(a mod created by the community in dota 2), but TFT dominated the genre and Underlords failed miserbly. Riot took inspirtations from valve only not copies. anyways, Let’s just enjoy the games instead of comparing.
@@guaracho1999 But Riot somehow makes them work. League has almost 10 times the playerbase of dota. Valorant is slightly smaller than CS2 but as a guy who prefers CS, a lot of the current players are bots farming cases. In DM and Casual, half the players are just bots spinning in place and headshots you if you shoot them. Legends of runeterra is genuinely a good game, I wouldn't say it's better than hearthstone but it's a good competitor.
Not to mention the *content* Riot releases around their games are phenomenal. I mean Arcane is literally the best rated animated show from a western studio. It's amazing how freaking Chinese companies treats their IPs better than western companies like Disney, EA and ubisoft.

I like how asmon went from "if you take health upgrades you lose" to "I think I take health, health is really good"
When you press TAB you see the corresponding trait of every spell. Eg. Static (lightning) needs health, which means you only can evolve statics (from 5 to 6) if you have health with it. Rule of thumb: look at your unique champion spell (jinx the minigun-blaster) and see what is scales with (hover above it and it shows on the bottom, damage, ability haste, crit etc. Then you can get the other spells that go with this too. So you try to get crit, dmg, ability haste etc + the traits to upgrade the other spells. You can, by level, get every spell to lvl 5, but to upgrade (evolve) it to 6 you need the corresponding trait. This is crucial to get it done on higher difficulty. If you can't win solo, you will likely also not win with 2 or more (because its more difficult then). Also, always leave as many cards on the floor as needed to evolve your spells from 5to6. You can only evolve them with the cards a boss drops. Espcially when you play with 4, it is important, because otherwise some people will not be able to evolve all the spells (and you need it).

Briar gets better with pre-game upgrades and once you have Duration unlocked. Her E gets basically 0 downtime eventually. And you probably know by now, but you gotta play all the characters eventually to unlock the goodies. Pretty fun and balanced with co-op as well
Her E doesnt scale with duration tho ? Abilities that scale with duration has a small duration icon next to the number
@riv8472 that only counts in evolution. duration is tied to all abilities for lingering effects and skill buffs. Ability haste affects cd and auto attk

There are two main grips and kinda a third. So the kinda gripe is aatrox can be cheesed. If you kite him he will not do the giant slams that move you around, making the fight so much easier.
My 1st gripe is I wish there were more characters. I read that they only planned on 6 and rushed 3 of them. I thinking having like 20 would have been a great number considering league has over 100.
My 2nd gripe is the game mode itself but the windows xp client. It's bugs out selecting maps, navigating the battle pass, clicking to fast can randomly swap characters and difficulties and it's so annoying. I think everyone would appreciate if they skipped character balance and making new skins and characters if they just like a month to work on the client. Everyone would appreciate it

It's very solid, but solo hard mode is near impossible and forget about extreme. I've been running hard with a duo and finally beat Rek'sai after like 30 plus attempts. Game is balanced around 3-4 players so it's very challenging

Tbh This just makes me want the Riot MMO even more, they actually did a good job and didnt half ass this game mode, honestly i pray it wasnt canceled because they could absolutely cook something up that could compete with WoW and the other big MMOs.
The noise about it being cancelled was just overreaction tbh. They hired a bunch of people for it, did a lot of work that was transferable like world building, and announced they were pivoting like a year after they already did. There’s no point in them announcing that they’re pivoting unless they actually are. Still won’t come out for like 7 years though lol

Played this last night and got hooked in to it, Leona is so OP, did like 15M dmg with leona and my friend who played jinx had 10M. Leona is broken if you build her right and go for armor + health

Vampire Survivors like game suggestions:
- [Witchcraft Survivors] It feels like a copy of VS, so if you enjoyed it it's basicly just more to enjoy. (roughly 15-20 hours of gameplay to max and do everything)
- [Keepers Toll] It's Soulslike inspired. The 1.0 version comes out "soon". (Fun but didn't play that much of it yet)
- [Scarlet Tower] Fun and good looking game. The rounds can feel "samey" because of the weapon combinations but fun nevertheless. (Takes time to go up the difficulty on all maps)
Soulstone survivor is also a good game I would say. Tho the art style is not for everyone and it can get easily repetitive :)

Just tried the game mode, it's actually so much fun, just getting back into league with friends again and it's been a great time 95% of the time.
Wanted to try this. Launched Riot Client that I have not touched in ages. See it now requires Vanguard for LoL as well. Uninstall everything related to Riot. Opened door to my terrace and touched grass.

@criticaltipper7699 find this waaaay better than vampire survivors. In terms of early game its beginner friendly which is miles ahead of VS and also the boss fights. Early VS boss is just reaper will kill you no satisfaction at all. Mini events is satisfying and fun. Nothing with VS.

How does this look worse than Vampire Survivors and Halls of Torment...
it doesn't though? Even endgame it's very rare to see enemies in vampire survivors that have any kind of mechanic or gimmick associated with them. Most of the fun aspects of VS come from exploring the levels and finding secrets but the enemies/mechanics are actually its weakest point. This one actually has a few interesting projectile patterns, aoes and such for you to avoid. Having active skills makes gameplay more involved straight away, as does the option for manual aim. All it's lacking is VS's huge levels of content.

to think this game started as a moba, and now has this. i love league universe, its perfect, all the cool chars you want to play and then bringing them into diff genres is genius way to keep modern but like a continuation of the best series ever. love runterra i get my card deck builder fix but with my fav leag chars, arena for the fun rouge lite aspects, tft for auto chess. its amazing, cant wait for the FGC fighting game and the mmo. great things riot

With Briar you really need the freezing armor, but you just unlocked it. But that armor is IMO a must build on all champions.

The first 4 maps are the tutorial. Once you beat those you get matchmaking island on hard mode and the real game begins.

I beat aatrox extreme with jinx (solo) for 17 mins and 20 secs, only yasuo and xaya came close with a min more, all else are 19+ mins

Briar seems also good. Yeah, doesn't come close to jinx or xayah from damage but tanky as fuck.

I wish people in Swarm quickplay would stop immediately picking up cards and causing us to wipe. Like people really do not read stuff
My general issue with chain lightning type abilities in a survivors type game is that since enemy density just goes up, its relative damage just goes down compared to just plain aoe.
Since chain lightning has a hard cap on how many targets it can bounce to. Granted in games with lower mob density it is still very strong since it extends you effective range by a lot
after you evolve it it also does AOE dmg around the targets it hits. imo it's the best aoe ability at that point.

i also thought the uWu-blaster was bad at first. now i pick it on everyone. icearmor+uwu+crossbow on every DD build (+Armor, CDR & Crit ofc). Works best on extreme. Rest flex.
You can run with Autoaim most of the times but sometimes you really have to switch it off because it wont target what you need it to - Except for when u have only autoaim/360°aoe wpns.

Its actually braindead that this single player PVE game mode requires Ping. For country's that don't have servers in their countries this game mode feels so choppy and unstable because of 200 ping against AI
YOU CAN EVEN GET BANNED IF U LEAVE THIS PVE GAMEMODE WITH NO OTHER PLAYERS
Because its Server-Side and you can play with others.

Reminder swarm is meant to be a co-op experience. Some of the characters are "bad" solo, because they're meant to be tanks/Supports to the dps "solo" characters
Not really. This game is designed just like other survival games-you grind a lot, and you can solo with any champion. There are even quests in the game that require you to play with Leona or Sera alone and accomplish challenging tasks. Personally, I enjoyed playing them solo.
