A SURPRISE adventure in Oregon AND Washington! (Astoria + Cape Disappointment)

- For our one fun adventure in Washington (on the way up to Alaska at least), we decided to switch it up a bit and Adam planned two days of exploring. And the best part? I had no idea what we were doing the entire time!
The adventure started out with a (good) curveball and over two days we visited a new town, saw some incredible views, revisited a fav coffee spot, chased a waterfall, explored a shipwreck, camped right by the beach, finally saw a spot I had wanted to see for years, and checked out multiple lighthouses. It was beautiful, fun, and full of surprises (for me at least)!

Walked to the two light houses, visited the Lewis & Clark interpretive center, and took a drive out to the jetty. Then crossed back over the bridge into Oregon for some great seafood along the Astoria River Walk and then climbed up to the to the top of the Astor Column ! It was a fantastic day ! I love watching your videos. One thing I have discovered. I was losing half the beauty by watching on a phone. Today I watched on a big screen tv and it was Epic! Imagine you’re my surprise when you hiked to one of our favorite places. My husband and I rented the lighthouse keeper’s cottage in your video. It wasn’t much more expensive than a regular hotel room and we had our choice of the bedrooms because the place was huge and we had the whole thing. Thee sunset, views and the wind there were dramatic. We hiked down to the beach below the cliff. It was terrific. Thanks for the memories

The problem with watching this video is seeing the great stuff I missed in an earlier trip. The most valuable thing I learned is, I need to spend more time with travel prep.

I spend a weekend away from normal life at Cape Disappointment every year near the end of May-Beginning of June. It's been five years doing that, now, and it's my little piece of heaven. It was nice seeing you two enjoy it!

Another fun video. Adam did a good job at planning everything., not sure how he did so while secretly keeping only Kona in the loop. Glad the weather was dry. The PNW gets a tremendous amount of rain- explaining how green everything is and the beautiful waterfalls. Rest up. Looking forward to crossing Canada on the way to Alaska. 👍👍🏍🏍🏍🙋♂️

You did fantastic, Adam! Such beautiful landscapes in that area. Loved the beachside campground... so cool! Astoria looks like a place I'd enjoy visiting, not only for the Goonies movie sites, but it looks like the place is full of charm. I'll be in Washington (first time ever!) this August, so I'm hoping to try a Dutch Bros. product. Might have to try that Irish Kicker, thanks to you guys. 👍
Astoria and the surrounding area is full of charm and history! You’re going to love Washington and august is probably the best month to go weather wise! And DBs is a must stop at least once!

I happened to stumble across this video three days ago - right before a one night trip to Cape Disappointment and glad that I did!! Managed to change our campsite to a beachfront one which made the trip so much better!!! The difference between the photos on the webpage and real life are no joke!

I just watched you video about Silver Creek falls....I lived in salem until 9th grade, I went to Ilwaco high school in long beach washington, one ofy first jobs was canning fish. My parents took us to at Silver Creek on the regular.
We also spent lots of vacation time in Astoria & Cannon Beach (dad was in the reserve, that brought us to the coast frequently)
The big bridge used to a toll bridge.

Astoria looks like it's worth a visit. Loved the lighthouses and that campsite was awesome. There are some Dutch Bros in SLC, I'll have to give it a try. I look forward to visiting Oregon and Washington some day.
