I am an elementary school teacher who has dabbled with mostly card tricks as a way to engage students. With practice and enough quick performances, I can now put a deck of cards under the overhead and the class will come sit almost instantly. Your tutorials have been the best for my purpose as a classroom teacher, and have inspired me to really learn and practice new material and techniques and to think more critically about my own magic but also the performance of instruction as well. Thanks on behalf of all the other educator's who value quality tricks to connect with their children.

Most interesting thing here is the psychology of visual continuity and understanding more about how the viewer perceives things based upon deeply ingrained assumptions. I did a magic show when I was about 13 or 14 for a neighbor's birthday party. It was a room full of 3 year olds who had not seen enough reality to even realize what I was doing was out of the ordinary. They had no expectations so I could not create any cognitive dissonance. Great video. Makes me want to get back into some SoH stuff.

I really liked the clear glass. Every time you do a piece of magic you invest yourself in it, and that's what makes the effect memorable. It's not just a trick done by someone. It has your signature all over it and that makes it something more. Excellent job Jay!

I think it depends on the spectator(s) if they burning your hands I will go for the glas because why asking what you already can see (what do they know ;).. )

Knowing how these tricks are done is a far, far, far cry from being able to perform them in such a way that it actually looks like real magic. Much respect to folks who become those types of magicians. A lot of practice, practice, practice, discipline and hard work. When I watch magicians, I know it is probably sleight of hand, but I am still blown away by how it looks like it's really magic.... !!
