It’s worse when contestants from Britain got talent go on to American got talent and Simon acts like he doesn’t know the act or the contestants.
These judges give golden buzzers only for singing because it makes them emotional. It's all psychology. They don't give for any other acts which are actually so hard. Entire panel of judges should be changed who judge based on talent but not by emotion.
Unfortunately humans react emotionally rather than based on logic most of the time. The judges know the audience will vote for acts based on emotion rather than real talent.
I think they only give golden buzzer to singers because they're that good to really move on but being such a good of magician like Eric Chien and Shim Lim and the rest yeah...the judges want to see more of their excellency..because their magic is so great they don't want to cut it out for a while they wanna see more...WELL not that singers aren't great too...If you get what i'm saying :)
But i think it's the right decision to not give him Golden Buzzer, because his third performance is not good. He is declining.
Magician need to rely on what they had, a hard work that represent in consistent routine. While Singer is more like a gift, when they are good, they usually keep doing good. Technically, even if they are boring.
But Simon Cowell's a keeper for sure.

@@pauldenino2560 but what shin lim does is actually easier than what eric chien does. I know both tricks beat by beat and eric is a freaking beast. What shin Lim does is amazing, don't get me wrong, but you gotta be a lot more knowledgeable in magic to do what eric chien does.
this coin routine for example, I know how it's done, but I can't do it. however, if i get enough money to buy what shin lim uses in his 52 shades of red(judge cuts and quarter finals routine together) then I can do it.

Both Shin and Eric are good magicians. The one thing i like about eric is how he doesn't use cards for his performances only but different objects to. A lot people use card because they are easier to use and move around.

If you play this whole video frame by frame you'll realize that you still don't know wtf is going on
You can see the camera move a few times: His hands change. check it out
Theres some areas that its obvious but a lot of it is unbelievably fast well timed slight of hand.
Actually on 0.25 you can see clearly almost everything.
For example, 4 coins turning into 3 - when he puts coins in hand you can clearly see that there is only 3 coins in Eric Chien fingers, and when he drops them into arm, middle coin is suddenly split into two - one "normal" and one thin under it, so it looks like there are 4 coins. Thin coin hides in the middle so you won't recognize it really differs from others. Then when hand closes, this 2-parts-of-coin sticks back together (magnets). That's all.

I do not agree with Simon Cowell. The close-up magic is much more amazing than magic with apparatus.

I mean go big doesnt mean go with apparatus. Stage acts with cards/coins exist, just are presented differently.
actually close up and table magic is much harder , it relies on your sleight of hand skills more , while the stage magic with big props relies more on gimmicked magic props , that are sometimes mechanical and doesn't require any sleight of hand or misdirections ,,
Close up magic is SO much better than the big illusions 🤦♂️ the big illusions are so much more Easy to manipulate people and “fool” them, close up magic takes REAL talent and is so much more difficult, anybody could do the large illusions with practice and the right “props”! ANYBODY!!! It takes real dedication and actual skill to do the things this man and Shin Lim, and all the other amazing sleight of hand magicians do, people don’t realize how much time and practice goes into these types of tricks, they literally practice for 12-20 hours a day every single day for YEARS to be able to do this type of stuff
I'm partial to close-up magic because it's more intimate, and it's easier connect with people.
And, it's not just those choices. Ricky Jay did close-up, but most of his performances were what is called parlor magic, and some of it was stage magic. He brought people to the stage to be up-close, but most of the audience was further away.
Busking can be close up magic, but has aspects of stage magic.
The Pendragons were awesome. A local guy I saw who did illusions wasn't very good.
Well done, everything performed perfectly, the last trick is so simple yet so amazing... A true performer of Magic. He probably created this himself too.

I have watched every episode of America's Got Talent, American Idol, The Voice and numerous other award shows and I can confidently say that singing is the only real talent. Any monkey with two thumbs can play an instrument or do magic. But, only a select few people on the entire planet can sing.

Seriously, if someone has been practicing hard all their life, you're not gonna let them go on agt just because their a singer? It's fun to see people who have an amazing and powerful voice.

Lol it's already drawn on the card, he just used the marker to go over the dissapearing ink. Also the coin had marker on it too which is why he presses down on jays hand, he pulls him forward for the misdirection n impresses the circle. Then he has a magnet that pulls the coin up, it's pretty basic but we'll done

nah man, it ain't even close. in a FISM contest, if both entered, Eric would win based on difficulty alone. this guy is amazing once you know how he does what he does. Shin lim even admitted that his second deal is not that good. but this guy is almost as good as Richard Turner when it comes to second dealing cards.
I love Shin Lim, don't get me wrong, but Eric Chien is just on another level.
There is a saying in magic, sometimes the method to the most boring magic tricks are harder than the method for a really extravagant routine

Aside from a little bit of questionable editing, this kid's the real deal. Have never seen a retention vanish as good if not better than Mickey Silver's or Ponta's. Chen's got it. And I love the fact that he creates new stuff from old principles. Man, and at such a young age. Do do big flashy stage magic like Simon suggests would be an insult to this kid's talent.

When you do your FISM World Championship winning routine in the first audition, and then casually step that up with the cleanest coin routine ever filmed.
Christoph Suster I will say...I am a little nervous cause he used his FISM act for the auditions, even though all he had to do was some visual eye candy to get in. He could have used his FISM act as almost a guaranteed pass to the next round
Risk move, he should use it on 3rd round , use it to enter the finale , unless he got a plan
@@SamuelMoerbe They probably pushed him to do it. I know they pushed Shin to do his one of his 2 big acts in the auditions but shin was able to save them for later on. I think Eric will be fine though, he's got more routines than Shin to my knowledge.
It's definitely clean, but you can tell there's some digital editing in order to mask some moves.

well lets look at the bright side, we could see more of his act. And when he finally won, it means he really win it with all of his hard work without any help or any shortcut. Shin lim also proved himself all the way. Now Eric should do the same.
Yeah, this show sucks when it comes to that.. he’s unfortunately going to lose to a kid that sings.
The point is they pick acts that will bring in ratings for the show, magic acts do that, hence no buzzer. Sob story singers are kinda boring on stage so they get the buzzer.
