So this happens only at the airport we land? So if I land in Toronto and I have another flight to St. John's, then the immigration check will happen only at Toronto airport and not again at St. John's right? Another thing... if I want to stay in Toronto for like 3 days before catching a flight to St. John's and I present a Toronto airbnb address as well as a St. John's address, it should not be a red flag for the officer right??

Yes it’ll happen in Toronto. You need to give your St. John’s address if asked.. it’s not a red flag if you stay in Toronto temporarily.. they know how we function..
