- Monaco provided an incredible race! In 2023... Were we likely to get lucky twice in a row? Probably not, and in the end the grand prix was somehow even MORE boring than we expected... Either way that gives me a lot to make fun of, so here are my thoughts on the entire weekend!

With Perez Ocon Stroll Kmag and the usually Ferrari strategy, or lack thereof, the script writes itself.
The only way Ferrari strategies didn’t put them out of contention was there was no need of it.

To be fair, defending your position in Monaco is probably the easiest task you could give to any f1 driver and logan somehow fucked that up lol (btw nothing against charles I'm super happy for him)
Was it even the defence though. It's just driving like normal at Monaco. Remember Danny Ric had won Monaco by keeping others behind when he had 160 HP deficit.

Never underestimate just how much effort Americans will go to for a flagship event. Pretty sure they’ve got enough track drying vehicles to form a decent grid… though have to feel a bit sorry for the guys with leaf blowers when faced with the length of the start/finish straight!
Remember when Rick's F1 addiction made the joke that HAAS or alpine should be used as a torpedo in turn 1 to take out Max Verstappen? With how Kmag and Ocon drives, it doesnt seem so unliekly anymore.
give all the Formula drivers, 1, 2 and 3, go-karts for the Monaco weekend, put them all in the same race, atleast then there would be room for overtaking

They should have a rule that if it's the first 10 laps you can't change tires during a red flag. Would have made this race something than nothing.
What about those with tyre damage and who gets to determine what's legitimate damage and what's Lewis's claims about damaged tyres?

F1 needs to do something if they are going to keep this track on the calendar. Make them race go carts, or vintage f1 cars, donkeys… anything. Maybe make half the cars start in the opposite direction at the same time?
You could have use this race to sleep so that can you watch the Indy500
Next Monaco GP, they should have a game of checkers down in the corner of the broadcast. At least it is something bearable to watch.

Imagine opening up a gap large enough for your teammate to have a free stop and the opportunity to battle for at least 1 point. Only problem, your teammate is Lance 'i lick windows and fuck it into barriers' Stroll.

i would just like to point out that last year at Monaco, Will said that he would run around the track naked if Hamilton left to Ferrari, and i would just like to remind everyone that he still has to deliver on that promise.
I'm still shocked the first lap crash wasn't even investigated, I mean I know the FIA is... not the best at their job to say the least, but come on!

Honestly, I'm not sure how feasible it is to determine whether the car was behind and to the side or just to the side, given teeny mirrors that shakes around, looking from a head that's shaking around when KMag was less up the side than a randy Andy.
Kmag fucked this up and Perez was ahead therefore kmag should have backed off.

Tbf, Perez was following the racing line - and Magnusson was trying a simply crazy move. Trying to overtake on the outside effectively up the hill almost always results in a crash, the natural line of the track means that the car on the outside is gonna go in the wall. Plus, with Hulk so close to them - and probably just trying to take avoiding action - I just really don’t see how Magnusson thought he was going to survive that one. Like he wasn’t fully past his own teammate yet.

F2 WAS the race, as always. F1 should be the "warmup".
And that was only because Verschoors’ engine gave up and ruined everyone’s strategies oh and Durksen being able to drive with more than 1 braincell.
The sprint race was as dull as the GP.

This was the 1st time in F1 history that the top 10 in quali also finnished in that order.
If they want to make the race more interesting, i think they need to put up a few moving chicanes that the drivers need to dodge on track.

@@johnmuller5342don’t remember the exact rule, but it’s the same one that let Alonso keep 3rd place in Australia last year after he was spun into last after a red flag restart.
I think Ricciardo started 11th but was jumped by both Aston’s on the race restart, (something both Fernando & Lance are quite good at).

The Monaco medium speed parade was sensational!
I know we all like to whinge about Monaco for being boring (Which isn't unjustified to be fair) but I have a soft spot for Monaco and would be sad if it got dropped from the calendar. Between the history of the race and because it never fails to impress me how the drivers are able to go at the speeds they do around the track with little to no margin for error, it should stay just for the challenge!
I admit I might be in the minority here but for me Monaco is worth keeping on the calendar. Sue me! 😂
Well done to Charles LeClerc, although he did have an advantage. He's probably been driving these roads since he was a teenager, and the others only started driving them after they became rich twats.
Technically the restart wasnt back to Qualifying order minus those put out.
Was actually to the only timing line everyone crossed - the Safety Car 2 line, just after the first turn.
Hence Stroll starting ahead of Riccardio on the restart.
Basically everyone's straregy was to slow down so the tires will last longer.

I've looked up the F1 News a few times since the race finished, I was somehow expecting another kind of plank issue or whatever to cause a DSQ for Charles, but it seems like he indeed did it.
Now he can be confidently bin it in future races again.

The in race commentary was also pretty hilarious. Drivers were literally trying to out-slow each other. Yuki was literally about a minute behind when he was told “we are good to push now”. For f&@ks sake the entire race looked like a parade lap!

That crash was checos fault. He watched the haas make the mix and still proceeded to drive it into the wall. Had he veered left he’d have still maintained the position over the haas at the top of the hill and all would love to fight another day.
