this scene will always be legendary for me, seeing the two og protagonists of the series finally meeting in-game was something i fangirled for way too hard as a kid.

I like how they showed that they are equal in hand to hand combat, as Leon is able to match Chris' strenght blocking his knee strike and stopping his tackle and evading his holds just like Chris can keep up with Leon's superior agility, dodging his roundhouse kick and blocking his fast elbow attacks.

It's Sherry. She's known Leon long enough, that she can just sense him acting this way.
Honestly this is exactly how I imagine a fight between them going down. Either a draw or one of them just BARELY wins by chance. Chris has that strength and durability and Leon has that nimbleness and flexibility.
By the end of the exchange, Chris is breathing hard so I don’t know about durability. He’s more tenacious than Leon, that’s for sure.

N leon fought against a super tyrant for 14 mins n yes this includes them evading attacks or grips when they were grabbed
@@angelcadena8052 yes it does if you breathe heavier your using more body energy therefore running out of stamina and not being able to punch as hard or just not be as fast but Chris can take a lot of damage but if was to win it would be because he would be able to grab him and probably slam him but if Leon win it’s because he is ran out of energy and made a mistake giving Leon the upper hand but Leon probably wouldn’t make a mistake unless he did it while trying to distance himself

Someone actually explained this thoroughly in the comments. Chris has more muscle mass and he looks gassed. Hence why he's breathing so hard. In a longer fight, he wouldn't last against Leon who is more nimble and flexible due to his lower mass and build. Leon also wasn't breathing as heavily.

For those still debating, this is what happens during the fight. This is a DRAW.
1. Leon redirects Chris's fire by shoving his shooting arm.
2. Chris reaches for his sidearm, Leon forces him to holster it.
3. Chris threw a left hook, Leon ducks under it.
4. Leon counters with a spinning hook kick, Chris ducks under it as well.
5. Chris counters Leon's missed spinning hook kick with a spinning backfist, Leon blocks it.
6. Chris initiates a clinch, and threw 2 knee strikes.
7. Leon blocked both of Chris's knee strikes with his forearms. He blocked it by blocking Chris's THIGH, which is a smart move, so no harm done on Leon's arms. (Leon's arms will be damaged if he blocked the knees instead of the thigh).
8. Leon did a reverse elbow, Chris blocks it. Leon threw a spinning backfist, Chris dodges it (barely).
9. Chris counters Leon's missed spinning backfist by attempting a takedown.
10. Leon sprawls, adjusts his legs (footing) so Chris FAILED his takedown.
11. Realizing his takedown is useless, Chris clinches Leon from behind. Leon did a reverse elbow, blocked by Chris again.
12. Leon escapes Chris's clinch, tries to submit (choke) him from behind. The attempted submission is called rear naked choke (RNC).
13. Chris caught Leon's arm that was meant to choke him, and used a shoulder throw on Leon, intending to slam him to the ground.
14. Leon did a shoulder roll during Chris's throw JUST as he hit the ground, which makes him recover and took no damage. If he didn't do the shoulder roll, his body will slam the ground HARD.
15. Chris, realizing he couldn't keep up with Leon's speed and agility, resorts to switch to his sidearm. Leon, realizing he couldn't restrain Chris in time due to Chris's brute force in close quarters, also resorts to switch to his sidearm. Both aim at each other at the SAME TIME.
16. By the stalemate, Chris looks gassed. You can see it by how heavy his breathing sounds. For me, this is because of 3 reasons.
A. He let his emotions get the better of him while trying to kill Ada. He wasnt thinking straight.
B. The equipments that he wore sure look heavy. A plate carrier with a lot of pouches (who knows whats in them), knee pads, BSAA soldier's heavy trousers, and combat boots. Those weigh you down a lot.
C. The muscle mass on his body will gas him out quicker. Muscles will make you stronger. But they also absorb a lot of oxygen from your blood flow.
Leon on the other hand, looks more calm & collected. Lighter outfit (just a shirt and tactical vest), a leaner build with less muscle mass.
If this fight goes on in CQC, I'll give it to Leon. He's been through worse shit compared to Chris. Got hit by a G-Virus Curtis Miller in Degeneration, sent flying by Tyrant in Damnation, and thrown to a wall by Ariego in Vendetta, while he kept getting back up and fighting. Those things hit harder than Chris ever did.
But this scene is meant to show us that both these characters are evenly skilled combatant. In the end, it will come to who can take more punishment and had better mentality under pressure.

It's kind of crazy that, despite of how batshit insane the whole plot is in RE6, this is probabbly the most realistic fight in the entire franchise, even when it is between two people capable of inhuman fits. The fight is short, but it clearly shows the difference in style between Chris' brute strenght and Leon's speed, regardless of the difference between the two fighting styles, they are pretty much even in experience and skill, so much so, that the moment that they see that they can't defeat their opponent in hand to hand, they draw their sidearms to shoot them, only to stop and notice who they were really fighting.
It is a short, not so flashy fight, but it is incredible well made!

I love how this doesn't pander to Leon fans in hand to hand combat. It shows that Leon can escape and even counter a few of Redfeild's hits but in the end Chris is a tank and Leon has to escape/ go for a standoff with guns (which was brilliant)

Both of them has more than 15 years experience around this time, I think when you reach that point it doesn't really matter which one has more because after certain time it doesn't matter
Leon also went through hellish training by the government, the training is basically there to make you emotionless fighter, darkside chronicles, some side stories and some files makes it clear Leon is always out there doing dangerous missions and fighting bio weapons.
So Leon fighting skills are top notch, he countered everything Chris hit him with, Leon has was calm for most of the fight where Chris is has little sounds of frustration, as if it is getting on his head that he can't hit his opponents and decide to go for the gun, same for Leon when enough distance was created he went for his gun as well.
Leon is silly talking about he lost 70,000 people including the president but if he woulda showed up to the event on time him and Helena woulda been zombies THINK LEON, THINK!!

Resident Evil 6 may not be a resident evil for others, because of its action oriented gameplay. But for me, it is one of the best RE game

@@assembled1855 yeah, obviously. But I think the point is, as the virus evolves and so should the characters. They become much more experienced, and to show that they made RE6 a action packed game. Though it is really bad for a RE game. Specially they just made the game linear and removed most, if not all the puzzles that made classic RE games great.
I m a fan of resident evil since the first one on ps1 and for me RE 5 and RE6 are two of the best in the series

@@shriyanshpandey112 for real, it is bad. After you beat the game you wont have a new weapon, also there werent new weapon at all after the completition of the game. Each character only had a 4 weapon

The story isn't even good. And Helena might be the most irritating woman in the whole franchise. There are good parts, but it's not as tight and well thought out as RE2, which is my favorite, as mindshatteringly horror based as RE7, or as twisted and interesting as RE8. To me this is the most underrated game of all time
It's messy sure but I love re6 the way we see so many characters introduced and old ones get shine it's great and I like seeing our heroes doing their best even at their worse
