Tool unfortunately is looked at as a druggy cult when they are the most talented group to ever exist in the rock and metal space. I love all kinds of rock from Floyd to Zeplin and Deftones and Dream Theater and Sabbith etc.., non of them top Tool. Rush is the only band I put in the same category because they both have unbelievable story telling lyrics with differing messages and the most talented musicians. You really gotta know music to fully understand, which is why Tool isn't bigger than they are. And theyre still BIG

I take it you're a huge tool and Adam Jones fan. I am too. He's not the most technical guitar player ever. But he's definitely the most creative. My all time fav for sure. The shit he writes blows my mind. Some of it is so simple but so like how did he think of that. My guitar playing has been completely influenced by his work. Some people will never understand the dynamics behind the greatness of tool. Somehow all these amazing musicians found each other. And you know when Danny started playing with them they had to lose their minds. Bc the kind of music they were playing didn't necessarily need a great drummer. But when one was introduced and then Justin coming in the mix they grew into this epic songwriting machine. Like there's people out here whose favorite band is seether or something and I'm like you're so immature lol.
The problem with a lot of guitar players is that instead of appreciating music for it is they tend to pick apart the players or more specifically the guitar players instead of appreciating it for what it is. I like to hear music and appreciate as a music fan sometimes instead of dissecting the guitar player 😊. I happen to think Adam Jones is killer. The whole band is. His style is unpretentious and direct and fits the song. I think he's very original and creative

Tool is the beast band of prog metal
clearly u need to give Tool another chance. it always takes a few listens to get your head around a tool album. DO it . u wont be disappointed! such great musicians. a band with so much depth too. cant say that about a lot of modern bands... Start with Aenema if its their prog rock side putting u off, or the new album fear inoculum.

awesome playing. i always really liked the song up until the heavy parts at the end, i feel if they would have taken more time to develop those parts we could have had one of the all time greatest tool songs.

Is this Adam Jones guitar..?
No, that's a 2015 Epiphone Les Paul Silverburst Custom Pro I bought used with a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge. I am very happy with it. Adam Jones allegedly plays a 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom that costs 10x more. It seems like Gibson is currently building a Adam Jones signature, but I'm sure it will be pretty expensive.
I think thats the Silverburst one he plays. I dont know much about the Sunburst. Yes they are making a Signature AJ series.

Took them and laid them out line by line, and animated a timing indicator to show you where to play long, and played along himself so that you can pause the video and see exactly where his fingers are.
He's done good work ,he deserves praise.
