The Phenomenal McLane I have no problems with Cena actually, I don't hate the man, I would have preferred Styles to win yes, but him winning is fine by me. No worries. I just love the image of him here, it says troll with a capital T. It's great. :)

Styles/Cena was fantastic? By WWE standards, maybe. But it was a shorter, carbon copy of their SummerSlam match with a Championship on the line and a different result. Finisher spamfest with hardly any psychology aka every WWE main event in the past 10+ years.
Totally agreed. People are overrating the crap out of, well all the matches on the undercard.

I felt like I was watching the exact same match, from Summerslam.

No psychology? Cena pumping up, running through Cena and general intensity was great. It felt a lot more intense than Summer Slam. But yes, too many finishers for me, too...it started to drag... and I think they could have trashtalked a bit after Cenas last promo or AJ could have been more heelish.
Rumble was boring, where was the couple of surprise legends or old cartoon gimmick entrants?
Took dozens of chair shots, a frog splash through a table, a superman punch with brass knuckles, a stunner, probably a couple a pop up powerbombs (?) and Strowman putting him through a table just to beat Roman and then he comes in the Rumble match and doesn't even sell it, and ragdolls the Undertaker. Could've at least fake taped up his shoulder or something.
Roman Reigns doesn't sell. And that includes tickets and merchandise.

One other observation I have is about Undertaker; he looked bad. Taker looked old, he had this beer gut and saggy chest skin, he was hobbling around the ring, his punches looked slow and weak. Taker said last year it was his last Wrestlemania, but this year it actually has to be his last Mania.
Undertaker will be 52, when does it stop? When he's 60? No, Taker needs to hang it up this year because we'll all hold out for him to have a great final match to his career at Wrestlemania and that's asking too much. Even if his last match is bland and not great, as long as it's not a disaster, that good enough.
Dick Tickles definitely should be his last match he would look good if he went to the gym more

Feels like they put Reigns in at 30 as an insurance policy against the fans crapping all over an Orton win. When Reigns gets jammed down the fans' throats again and comes out at 30, I just think that WWE creative may have figured that the fans would be so relieved that Reigns actually didn't win that they wouldn't be as upset with an Orton win. It's like the whole carrot and stick thing, only this was more like a stick and a slightly smaller stick.
#30 to the Finish sucked
#1 - #29 was meh.
Rest of the Card was great.
Styles/Cena was fantastic in every sense of the word. And since we're going to hear those "lolCenawins' or "AJ Styles = Buried" crap. It took not 1, not 2, not 3, FOUR Attitude Adjustments, one of them from the top rope, and the last two, back to back, to finally finish A.J. off.
There's only one other guy who has taken 4 Attitude Adjustments in one match from John Cena, his name? Brock Lesnar. And Brock didn't even take one from the Top Rope.
A.J. will be fine.

Kind of like at SummerSlam when Styles was waiting for him to get up so that he could deliver the Phenomenal Forearm? Only this time Cena had it scouted?

This is just the first of many title reigns. And we all knew Cena was getting his win back sooner or later.

I would've MUCH rather have Kane at 30 then Roman. This was the first time in 20 fucking years, that Kane missed the Rumble
solomonster the championship matches were great. The rumble match was ok but no surprise entrants at all. Being in the building was great experience. It was my first rumble seeing it live and it was great experience. At least didn't have to hear commentary so that is a always a plus.

The camera cut away from Mark Henry because he was using a golf cart to get to the ring. A lot of big men were using carts to get to the ring.
If it was ANYBODY else but Roman in the number 30 spot, the fans would have shit ALL OVER Randy Orton winning. Vince knows what he's doing in order to get the people he wants wining the rumble over and having the fans not shit on the show. Putting Roman Reigns in there and having the winner beat him lmfaooo. Vince you smart fucking bastard.

I first noticed pictures like this on The Solomonster's other PPV reviews, as well.; It's been about 2 years & I still can't figure out the reason as to why he has pictures like this--his review of the 'WWE Survivor Series 2015' PPV with the poster on it & a pic of Sheamus' head in the bottom-right corner, for example.

The last three matches of Wrestle Kingdom 11 were better.
i really liked the aj style and cena from summer slam 2016. I didnt find this match any better. WK11 was just something else (on another level), i dont expect wwe to do better.

just a heads up, the reason for cut away from Henry and others (something I didn't notice till it was pointed out on twitter), was cause they were brought down the aisle on a cart since it was so long ala Mania's 3 and 6. So they were trying to hide that fact.

There are pics from the arena of the bigger guys getting driven most of the way to the ring on golf carts. I imagine they cut away from Henry to avoid showing it. They must have lost those mini rings on wheels from WM 3, those were way cooler than golf carts.

So, Cena cut that promo on Styles, talked all that shit, had Styles standing there looking like a Jabroni... and Cena still wins. Okay.
I'm not currently subscribed to the Observer so I'm not sure if all the potential Mania matches are covered in there, but right now what are they going to do with Cena and Styles for Mania? Right now you potentially have Goldberg/Lesnar, Owens/Jericho, Wyatt/Orton and Reigns/Taker at the top of the card but there's no Cena or Styles.
I heard AJ might work Shane so maybe you'll have that but then you still have Cena. Would they put him with Baron Corbin maybe? Or perhaps just make the WWE Title match a triple threat?

Rollins vs Joe is a lose/lose feud. If Joe wins Rollins has no momentum going into a match with triple h. If Joe looses he's dead in the water before his main event run even gets started.
The big guys were carted to the ring. There are pictures available. That is why the camera cut away.
Owens vs Reigns was sort of a spot-fest but surely a 6/10 at least. Also, Braun's interference didn't pay off or get mentioned later. Roman really was the down of the show.
And the reason the camera cut away from Mark Henry is because he was riding on a golf cart. All the big guys were. There's pics of Bray, Big Show, Mark, Big-E and Braun lol.
Guess because the ramp was ridiculously long they wanted to speed up the big guys entrances.

The matches were great, but you have to grade the entire show on the match it's built around: the Rumble. Thumbs Down. If WWE doesn't want thumbs down, then don't book the Rumble the way the do every fucking year with the Roman Reigns Troll Train.
And this is going to sound pathetic and knee jerk, but I thought over what the card is going to look like for Mania and lemme tell you, I'm not interested. I'm seeing a triple threat with Cena vs Orton vs Wyatt, Owens vs Zayn, Goldberg vs Lesnar, and Undertaker vs Reigns. I'm not interested in any of those matches except Zayn and Owens, but I've seen them many times already.
I'm looking at skipping this year's Mania. Just looks like a bore.

To me, this year's Royal Rumble was good. Though the last portion of the match is all people are gonna remember which really isn't all that fair.

think you know by now but the cut away was due to all big guys (stroman and henry included) catching a kart ride to ringside
A couple of the big guys went down the aisle in golf carts (big e, big show, bray wyatt, braun etc), that's what you noticed when Mark Henry came out (camera cut away)

Wasn't a fan of the Rumble match this year, but I am glad that the Club finally got the belts, and Nia finally got a win that means something, even if Sasha had to eat the pin. Now if they could just stop booking Nia to lose, change her music, and have her talk less, she might get somewhere close to a title and not have it seem odd. But I still say calling someone up without an NXT title run is a bad idea, and Apollo, Baron, Tyler Breeze, and Nia continue to prove that every time I see them.
Solomonster, to me it looked like Henry stopped and signed something for a fan and the camera cut away til he was done. I dunno. I think thats what I saw for a quick second at the end.

Obviously if the Rumble match had played out better, this would be an "A" show, in my opinion. I was at a party, very rowdy bunch of us, so I'll have to go back and watch Cena/Styles and the Rumble but I remember us all being livid when Reigns came out at 30 and we all got a kick out of Jericho's performance, lol. One thing a lot of us noticed, especially myself, was Undertaker DID NOT look good at all.

Just a thought, I don't know if this clause is still in play now that the brand split has been brought back, but now that Orton has won the rumble, doesn't this mean he can challenge for either world title at WM? We might get Orton vs Owens at WM instead of him facing Cena if Cena is still Champion after the the next SD PPV.

I would assume that they added the "In title matches" qualifier to Charlotte's number to add to the number rather than take away from it. It would allow it to include the multi-person title matches she's won, including the triple threat at last Wrestlemania.
Solomonster, first off I don't know if you work for the WWE but you know your stuff definitely call the Samoa Joe as Triple H's goon perfectly. Because of how the Royal Rumble ended how would you feel about a Brock Lesnar Goldberg Roman Reigns Undertaker fatal four-way match? Think of the possibilities you have a built-in storyline with all four people already

I would love to see Charlotte vs Auska but I don't know. What do you do with Smackdown's women's champion? To me the only way this works is if they put the belt on Mickie James or back on Becky Lynch.
The ultimate troll job would be if the WWE played Angle's music only for somebody dressed in The Patriot gimmick to come out.(For those that don't know The Patriot used Angle's music first back in 97)
I am a Reigns mark but it is understandable why he is not over with a majority of the crowd. He gets destroyed in his match against Owens but still finds a way to make it into the Rumble match. When I heard that I just rolled my eyes.
It is hard to like someone who is seemingly handed everything for no other reason then him being Vince's chosen one. I find it harder and harder to justify Reigns booking.
Hopefully Reigns turns heel soon.

I was there, Mark Henry almost fell off the go cart that was taking all the big guys to the ring. lol
What happened with Henry and several other big men is that they were brought down the long ramp in a cart it's been posted by some folks who were there live
Waste of Rumble Spots (Mojo, KALISTO, Cass & Zo, Apollo Crews), the ultimate dick pull (Roman being #30 & eliminating Taker), Goldberg made to look like the only people that can beat him is Taker & Roman (because Taker eliminated him & no sold his shitty spear, and Roman eliminated Taker), an underwhelming Rumble winner, and a real reminder overall that making new stars isn't on the WWE's agenda (nor has it been over the last few years with this damn near starless Rumble). Still, it is not the worst. THAT would have to go to anything between 93-96 & 2015. (I loved Baron Corbin & Braun in this match though)
