Gawd that Torino is Ford tough! Off road it took the beating and even after the jump and it got bent it still stopped great and burned the tires for another good maneuver. These cars ran great even with just the 351 Cleveland 2 barrel! So did my Cougar XR7! Never jumped it though but I did all the rest off road and and on the street! Best car I beat the living hell out of and it still ran great when I sold it wrecked both sides, front, back and it drove fine!
Really intense chase here! In fact, in my miniature cars collection, I actually have a Hot Wheels 1/64 Scale replica of a 1972 Ford Gran Torino Sport, also in red!!! It just has a thin yellow stripe running along both sides of the car (something the car in this movie doesn't have), but otherwise it's very identical to the one in the movie!!
Yea. I remember my buddy doing a burnout on his gs750 on the wooden ramp leading into his shed. It smouldered for about 10mins, we hadda pour water on it.
Each and every time with U.S. cars of that era it is amazing how incredibly shitty those leafspring underbodies were on the road. Nice scenes and scenery though.
Like riding in a boat. The old road tests on here are hilarious, i saw one of a 67 impala and i thought the door handles were gonna scrape the road in hard corners.
Was there a script for this chaise or did they just give the stunt driver the keys? That was a great jump onto the ferry. The noses use to come off those cars like muppets. It was already bent running up the ramp. Hilarious!
I know barry newman from the lawyer series petrocelli ! Interesting drive way built from wood planks. Looks like east germany before wall falls down and after jump on ferrie the gran torino is only good as trash 🚮
Kowalski in the house!
I wish they would play music like this over live car chases.
The 1972 Torino was the coolest.

Some bizarre paint schemes on those '69 Catalina Lousiana patrol cars.
351 Cleveland dam good engine
& the killer hubcaps/wheeldiscs go directly at the cameraman!!
1:31 cracked the lens !!!!
The movie's original "working title", Kowalski Buys a Ford.
I'm partial to the 69 70 Tarino
Hell yeah that rock got the camera!
Cracked camera lens at 1:31
1:31 lens is broken, lol
Is that guy Kowalski in vanishing point 1971?
Yes.
Barry Newman
I think he was looking for the vanishing point lol
Is the wooden road real.
Yea.

The Ford frame didn't like that jump. The General Lee would have laughed at that
LOL
I hate how the movies fuck up two door classic cars
Joe Jaramillo I agree they should make a replica and destroy that not the real car even if it ain’t matching numbers
....that poor (once gorgeous) car!!!!
I love big ass ugly cars that haul ass. Is that a amc javeline ?
