5 Years old, and still relevant. Thanks for the references. This will help my design greatly!
Been looking for a tutorial everywhere and this is the exact video i needed. You answered my questions stucked in my mind over the past years. Thank you
Glad I could help!
I really want to thank you guys for taking out the time to actually break down and show what to do I appreciate y'all
Thanks Lewis! We do it for all you who are new to this!
This is one of the best videos about wiring subs with dvc's. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
I learned this stuff back in the 90's. I had 4 15" Rockford Fosgate subs and I ran them Parallel/Series to get a 4 ohm load on the 4 subs. While my amps could run at 1 ohm the subs couldn't take the power as I was running 1400 wat at a 4 ohm load. I wish youtube was around back then cause I would've learned all this so much faster than reading it from books. Great video!
Thanks John!
Thank u for your info because I'm just learning how to work on my own Audio in car No one I know want help me so I come to CZcams So Thank you so much John.
Exactly.! And the circuit city or goodguys had sharks looking for commission so they had no knowledge except for the price
@@dirtyboy8336my friend was my car audio tech,he wouldnt let me touch anything except for the volume knob lol .Unfortunately he was killed riding his motorcycle at high speed and hit a utility pole.i been crying everday for nearly the past 2 years since he died.35yrs of friendship gone because his girlfriend pissed him off and he jumped on his gsxr750 to let out his frustrations,no more frustrations for him RIP BRO
Amazing video. Used your diagram to wire up my 2 audiobahn 12s to a 1500w monoblock. And it read 3.4ohms. Very happy with the result, mind you this is the first time I have ever wired up subs myself and I’m 16. Btw I liked and subscribed🤟🏻
Heck yea Evan! Glad it helped!
Good to see another young blood getting into automotive sound systems there is a whole lot to learn but can definitely make some big time $$$$ keep it up young blood
Awesome video, super easy to understand. Thanks👍
FINALLY I understand series vs. parallel wiring. Thank you!!
Yes!
Pretty simple right?
@@Qualitymobilevideo question. Please respond.
I have 3 settings on my amp. LPF dial from 30-250hz. I have a subsonic dial from 30-50. Then i have the gain. I only have a button to go from 0-6-12db.
My question is, where should the LPF dial be set at, and same question for the subsonic dial? I have 2 Memphis PR 15's in a ported SPL box and the subs sound really good, but since I've done so much audio over the years and i got out of it for a few years, then back in it, I've lost my touch. Can you give me an idea? Thank you
Now this is how you teach some one how to wire your sub unlike other they just rush in to it and try to get it out of the way smh..nice man..👏👏
Thanks bud! Lots more technical shit on the way
That is ture
Quality Mobile Video yeah but you missed something now how do you run it to the box ?
Those 4 sets of wires that he twisted together to make one red and one black set, run those to your monoblock amp.

Thanks for not over complicating it. Like 90 percent of the other videos.
You're welcome!
No hablo Inglés pero solo con ver las conecciones pude aprender a subir y bajar los ohms, buen video mi amigaso
Entiendo este video . En español nada . Jajaja
Rockville RXD-T2 is the best amp I've ever had. It's not very common, but it gets better numbers at 4 ohm load than a 2 ohm load. Williston tested, 1600W @ 4 ohms mono bridged.
This is the video I needed. Thank you. You answered all my questions
Now it makes sense I was doing my sub wrong , thank you so much for this video it makes sense now..👍👍👍 new subscriber for sure...
Very good demo... one of the best
Thanks!
This is the first time doing it myself and this helped a lot. 🙏🏻
Glad it helped!
I know a lot more now after watching your great videos' I am a nubee at this and am attempting to install a 4 channel/full range digital amplifier to accommodate (2) 8" woofers in a sealed enclosure; WISH ME LUCK!! PATRICK.P
great explanation. thank
Thanks for making this so simple to understand .👍
Glad it was helpful!
I like your videos. You explain everything very well. Your good at what you do. All around your very smart and a great teacher. Thanks for the video. Great job bro
TY!
Awesome. Love it! :)
Man thanks so much for this video now my skar 15s are slamming hard af
I wired my subs to 1 ohm today from this video and it feels like it got twice as loud. I don’t know what it was wired to but it had a positive to a negative on both subs idk. Thanks for the easy easy easy guide on how to do this!!!!! Never mind I guess it was a 4 ohm load haha
4 Ohm sounds the best imo, 2 and 1 ohm are for spl ratings
@@peterrasmussen68 no they’re not. It’s literally designed for the subs. Not for an SPL rating.
My sound quality went down but not by much, it’s hard to tell because there’s so much power now😂 Im never going back to 4 ohms
I'm running my subs at .5 ohms lol 😆 granted my system is built for it and set for spl so there is that
My amp is 1500 watts, and i have 2 gravity sub 3000watts max 1500 RMS, i did the conection 1ohm and the amp stop (red light protection) what can i do?
I literally watched about 7 video's on CZcams an this is the only that answered me 100 thank you great video
Glad it helped bud!
Same here, this video helped ne out alot!
Right?
Still confusing asf tho
AMAZING VIDEO HAHA GOING TO LEARN HOW TO WIRE MY SUBS DURING QUARANTINE AS THE AUDIO INSTALL SHOPS ARE ALL CLOSED :)
You can do it!
Thank you, My friend. I am grateful for your help,
You're welcome!
Very informative and thanks.I am replacing two of four of my stock 4ohm speakers. Can I use two 3 ohms speakers (direct swap) effectively.
That lakey beat @1:18 took me by surprise
Just beautiful 👐
Very very very very thank you sir thanks for information 🙏 we want more videos from this channel sir
3:20 and then wire each to it's own wire terminal cups and wire those cups directly to the amp. If your amp has dual terminals, they are the same channel so connecting to each terminal pair is exactly like twisting the two wires/speakers/channels together.. making it a parallel connection. This tip is for those who have an enclosure that has separate chambers and two separate wire terminal cups.. like I always have.
lol i just wrote for help on exactly that issue. didnt want to drill hole thru the chambers for wire...but ,getting rid of a possible air leak from one of these terminal cups will be a goal in my next encloser, thanks alot your input is wat i couldnt find in an actual video.im going to wire it up RIGHT NOW.IN MY TOYOTA SIENNA VAN LOL,BOOM DIDEBOOMBOOM
Finally someone who clarifies this I have been wondering if I have a 1 ohm final load on amp wiring 2 2 ohm loads through separate chambers to the amp
I needed to read this. He didn’t explain.
Im sorry i'm new to this but let me make sure I have this right... so I would wire posi to posi and neg to neg on one sub, then wire to the cup, and do the same for the other sub? (so I dont have to wire the connection to the other sub?) Then connecting both cups to the amp will make a parrellel connection for 1 ohm imp? I also have an enclosure with two separate chambers and would like to avoid drilling a hole in the middle. Thank you to anyone who can answer this for me
Ok I think i might understand now but I'm still not entirely sure. I would wire each sub positive to positive and negative to negative and then to each cup. Then, from each cup outside the box, I would connect positive to positive and negative to negative and then wire that connection to the amp?
good video u go straight to the point not to much talking thx brotha.
Thanks Juan
I have Rockford Fosgate P 12s I’m looking at this video I think I got it on how to make those into a four ohm load thank you guys

Thanks for this video you have now taught a blind guy how to wire his scar EVL 6.5 inch dual for Ohm subs to a one Ohm load I am hooking two are those subs up to a scar RP 350.1 monobloc class D amp
Glad it helped!
Chad Jay. Skar sent a rep to my house. He brought the upgraded 350.1, i was having power issues with ohms and rms/peak power was pretty much the same. Proved this with a Kenwood excelon mono sub 600 watt. I used to power 3 w6's with it & a Phoenix gold 3 way Amp(really 4:1, could power 4 door speakers and a sub separately). Hopefully you're keeping up, I then trade the 3 JLs for jbl comp 15 in the biggest box I ever owned. I couldn't take the rattle or the box size anymore & JL cameoutwiththe W7 and I had to haveit, so then I sold the 15 with the custom box, and got a JL W7-12inch & it's absolutely ridiculously awesome beautiful breath taking insane ground pounding Mike Tyson Jab jab & then BOOM!! KNOCKOUT... Skar ended up comping(giving) me the 900.1 mono, wires, an Optima battery(just for the Amps & sub), & a Duracell power capacitor that looked like a giant AA battery. Call Skar or wherever you got it from & Bitch! That there is no difference rms/peak because there isn't, and u will get what you should have gotten the 1st TIME, an AMP capable of powering any sub or subs & u can wire it however you like & hear a difference 😉
Absolutely new to this... Been watching tons of videos and my sole remaining question you just answered... What kind of wire do I use for the series connection, like you've done here in the second half of the video. Thank you. Thank you!
love the content
👌
Please reply your very knowledgeable, I want to buy 2 audiopipe txxbd415" in a ported of course. They say they are 1400 rms so I'm thinking maybe a skar 3500.1d will push both even tho I wanted separate amps but the subs are 4ohm. Don't want any other subs except these. Can I still get separate amps and somehow wire my 4 ohm sub to 1 amp or do I have to have both subs on 1 amp to get 1ohm from 4? Also what size wore would you recommend from speakers to amp? Would a separate amp for each sub sounds better than 1 amp on 2 subs?
Thank u so much now I’ll stop blowing fuses!
Nice. Thanks
No problem 👍
This guys good
My jumpers are pretty long ? Will that affect subwoofer output ? Should i shorten the speaker wire ?
Thanks
Very accurate,,, sir how can I hook dual coil sub speaker 8ohm per coil, what the connection of both 8ohm coil to equal 8ohm steady? Thanks:-) fron philippines....
Thank you , I watched this a year ago and forgot.. now I remeber thank you
You're welcome!
Thank
Wow idol ok yan
5 stars
At 1:55 you said you were using small wire to demonstrate; what gauge speaker wire should you use for this exact setup? (Assuming both subs are capable of 500 RMS for a total of 1000RMS)
Nice..so which set up sounds better and more bass please
Cheers
Man thank you so much my ds18 6k would play for a few minutes and then start smoking so I knew something was wrong definitely but your video helped me a lot. Thank you
Glad it helped, hopefully you only dusted the epoxy on the coils and didn't bake them.
Thanks for the awesome videos!! Could you tell me the best way to wire up two JL audio 12 TW3s DVC with a AudioControl LC 1.1500? I want it wired for 4ohms. That amp as you may know is a mono block but has two outputs for the speaker. So should you just use one output or both?
It does not matter on the outputs. The 2 on the amp are the same. It becomes more convenient as the wire guage increases
QUESTION: An answer please?! Can I get 2 two ohm dvc subs to work with one 1 ohm amp that has two speaker outputs?
If so how would I need to wire them?
I don't see why not as long as the mono amp has dual outputs which it does considering I've already done this set-up for one 12" dvc 2 ohm sub, (but now want to add a second sub) so if wired correctly I'd think I can with two L7 12" dvc 2 ohm subs (connect at 1 ohm to one mono 1500.1 or 2000.1 Skar amp) THANKS IN ADVANCE!
Hi thanks for getting back to my last comment on another video, i have another question, i have 4 x 2 ohm component speakers and i also have a 4 channel amp that can handle 4ohm and 2ohm, how much ohms does the amp see in this situation?, would it be 2 ohms because its a 4 channel amp?.
When wiring two DVC 4 ohm speakers to run 1ohm at the amplifier such as your first sample in this video - how do you get two 11 gauge positive speaker leads to fit into one positive speaker terminal and the same on the negative? My Hifonics subs have the push style connections where you insert the wire into the hole and release the pressure on the binding post? not sure if using the proper terminology.
Sonic electronics shows this exact setup but with a slightly different connection to the amp.
Instead the amp feeds straight into one sub following the same wire pattern on that sub then to the other sub with again the same positive to positive and negative to negative connections as yours.
I'm just curious if both outcomes are the same or if this makes any difference at all
So u have to connect the speakers together with in the box ? Or were those the leads to the amp, i have 2 kicker 12 comp r dual 4ohm and i want to go down to 1ohm but confused on do i connect the two subs with inside box?
I have two of the sealed kicker 10s they are dual 4ohm wired to 2 ohms each. How can I wire them down to 1 ohm, being that they are in separate boxes. Hope that makes sense.
Hi I have a Pioneer TS-W261D4 10" 25cm Dual Voice Coil 1200W Subwoofer. And a Pioneer GM-D8601 - Mono Channel Class-D Car Amplifier 1600W just wounded wot my correct speaker connections would be? Thanks mate 👍
So if my amp is a monoblock but has two channel inputs would that be the same as bridging down to 1 ohm if I ran each subwoofer to its own positive and negative input ?
Can i connect one red on each and on the other 2 left connectors of each sub can i connect those to the wires that are coming in from the little outlet outside of the sub box??
Good
Thanks
would the 4 ohm load need another wire to the amp. or does those two parallel wires go directly to the amp without another wire added?
I'll like to Say Years ago I use to do this to my House speakers to get More play out of them. I didn't know what I was doing I were just trying something out. It work out find I just didn't know the name of it so Thanks for the info
So what RMS rating on a mono D amp should I be looking for if I want to run them at 4OHM load ? The RMS of my subs are 600 watts
I have 2 12s and an amp of 1200 how can. I connect my subs to get a good bass sound I just got my epicenter as well
Hello Team.
I have seen most of your videos.
It is actually informative.
Can we connect two component speakers to same output in amplifier parallel connect I have made.
Is that ok?
Components are 4Ohms each.
Thanks.
Hi I would like to ask if you wire Two 4 dvc Parallel into 1ohm. Does rms changes?
To get the most out of my amp I just hook to one positive and one negative to make it a 1 ohm load at the amp because I have two positives and two negatives from my amp and I want the most out of it that I can more punched better
I have a Kicker CompVR 12 4-ohm… what am would you suggest? Just an FYI, I want an amp I can run the single off of but also want to be able to run 2 at 1-ohm as well, without having to buy another amp. Thanks in advance! Oh yea single sub will be installed in a ported box in 2012 Ford Explorer.
I knew I shouldn’t have had Boston Jim wire up my subs. My amp kept going into protect mode. Come on BJ!!!
I swear that 3 prong extension cord was the right size
I have a Rockville amp that has 2 channels and is rated for 1 ohm. I’m assuming the 1 ohm is for the two channels bridged. Is there a way to wire 2 4 ohm subs at 2 ohms? Like can I wire one to one channel at 2 ohms and the other to a channel at 2 ohms or would that be 4 ohms?
" Now it don't matter if you use wire like this" Do take into mind you wouldn't want to use these wires I'm just doing it for the show"🎉😂😅
good

I wish i could spin my subs like you did at the beginning of this video lol Basshead problems

I'm new to this .
What are the differences between the set ups? What will hit deeper ? And the advantages of both?

1 ohm load will always offer you the most potential power of a system. 4 ohm is more efficiency

I have a unique situation I can’t figure out. Jeep has a factory 4om 2 connector sub. I have a dual 12” speaker box that only has one input on the box so I assume the speakers are in parallel. So I don’t know how to take the 4 factory wires to input into the 2 wire connector on the speaker box. Any ideas?
Question, On the 1 ohm load to the amp, I can't remember how to do this if each sub in separately enclosed, and with out connecting the subs together inside the enclosure since each is sealed?
Parallel Wire outside the Box. Basically just run 2 P and 2 N wires from the Amp. One set(P&N) to each box. Subs are Paralleled inside the box. Same thing as demonstrated. Make sure you use Heavy Gauge wire.
aloha, from hawaii. i need alittle help please.i bought a BELVA ported empty encloser that has 2 terminal junctions not sure wat you call them lol. can you guide me to wire 2 skar SDR -12 D2 nom.power 600w / trans power 1200w ending in 1ohm to amp? im not sure how to wire the subs to the terminals on the back of box?then from terminals to amp.Thankyou for all your past help, thankyou for the time you put into these help videos...YOU AND utube channels are the best.
MY AMP THAT ILL BE USING IS 3400 BOSS MONOBLOCK AMP
Yo. I've had a system before. But never knew all this. Got a new one. A lot smaller tho. My question is.... What's the difference between how you just wired those. Making it a 1ohm or 4 ohm. What's the difference between dual voice coil and other. I'll tell you what I got maybe you could tell me what you think. I got 2 8" kicker comp subs, they are 4 ohm dual voice coil. What ever that means.... And I also got a Rockford fosgate 500watt mono amp. Not sure but I know I can make em hit. I'm just not sure the best way to wire it up is. What do you think?
So how i go about connecting the 1 ohm wired subbes to my SoundQubed AQ-2200 amp ?
I thought i didden't need to connect the subbs to each other, and just wire them like you did.
And the bolth seperetad connecting them bridgged to my amp (it's a 2 channel amp btw)
EDIT: i see i got 3 ohm subs ( 2 x jbl w12 gti ) so that would be a complete other story wiring them i guess...
Does wiring 2 ohms down to 1 ohms make the speakers beat harder and drop the bass lower, please can someone tell me the difference in dropping down the ohms.
Great video! the best one I have found. I do have a question though on the 1 ohm final. My monoblock amp has 2 sets of speaker outputs. How do I hook up to the amp at that point with only 2 wires? Thanks!
Great question! I should write a script about this. Most monoblocks come with just one set of terminals, but plenty of manufacturers design them with two sets.
Monoblock amplifiers are ideally used to wire one or two subwoofers to. Bridging two subwoofers to a monoblock amplifier with one set of terminals is simple, you just put the two positive connections on the same positive terminal, and the two negative connections in the two negative terminals.
But cramming two wires onto each terminal can sometimes be a little difficult or might not feel completely secure. That’s why some monoblocks are designed with two sets of terminals, so that when you bridged two subwoofers to the amplifier, each sub gets its own set of terminals, and it’s still one channel operation. It just makes life a little easier when wiring multiple subs. You can of course still use the two sets of terminals to wire one subwoofer to, you just instead use the left positive terminal and the negative terminal. All of this information will be in your installation manual.
@@Qualitymobilevideo Sorry for a late question if I can get help. I have a sae2000d with the 2 sets of outputs and 2 sa-12 dvc 4 ohm. The person I bought from has each wired separate in one box final from each sub is 2 ohm. Will the amp read 4 ohm from being connected or should I wire them into one set or wires for 1 ohm final
i got the sa 12 classic 4 ohm. should i wire them to 4 ohm or 1 ohm?
This is what I originally wanted to do with the L7 15’s. What stopped me was the cost of the amp required to power the pair, the fact that my truck’s electrical is not upgraded and the box I wanted to build was going to be literally twice the size almost of my current box. ( again, wifey hates it but she never rides in my truck when we’re out, we take her car ) I had also learned, mainly by graphing literally every design size and tune I could come up with for a pair, that a single in a bigger box than recommended ( EBS as mentioned before ) would be sufficient so that’s what I went with. I really enjoy checking out the output graphically ( I’m using Kicker U for iOS - paid version ) because it gives you a chance to see how well or how poorly the sub will perform in any given design. Port velocity, rise, power requirements, xmax, etc. It was and still is something I want but will probably never do because I’m not independently wealthy LOL, anywho. Great job again on the video QMV, keep’em coming.

Thats awesome! Lol wifey hates it 😂
Quality Mobile Video omg thats the story of my life....
i bougt two RF. T1..15inch they cost $700 each online but I got two of them for 400 so of course I couldn't pass up on the deal now my wife tells me when I'm hungry to go chew on my speakers hahaha
Ok so I’m getting 2 dual 4 ohms subs and I have to go down to 1ohm how would I set this up for the box terminal to the amp cause the box has 2 terminals so 2 sets of positive and negatives
How would you do them with direct leads?
How would you go about wiring 2 4 ohm dvc subs for a final 4 ohm load if you have a Monoblock with dual outputs?
Series each woofer, run each woofer lead to the amp, that will parallel them for a four ohm load
Great fucking video 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks!
Would like to know how to connect 2 15in kickers comp to a 1000/1 jl audio amp what's the best way pls
Need a lot more specificity! Kicker has over two dozen versions/models of 15" subs. Which model do you have. DVC or SVC. 4 ohm or 2 ohm. Combined RMS of the woofers?
