Yes you definitely can! Just wire your subs in parallel to 1 ohm and connect it right up to that amp, which is 800W RMS at 1 ohm.

let me make it simple, plug all positives terminals together with the same red wire straight to the amplifier. Now do the same with a negative terminals using black or silver wire.

You can fit whatever subs your enclosure can fit, and thus whatever enclosure will fit in your vehicle. Two 12" subs facing up will have great linear movement, there should be no problems with that setup.

GFCyadigg: if each sub is 800w rms you need an amp that pushes about 1600w rms. dont worry about peak power. that is just for short bursts of bass and you amp would be able to do that. but you need an amp anywhere from 1000w rms to 1600wrms. try not to get an amp over 1600w rms because you can mess up your subs

Your subs are perfectly fine. The reason the sub closest to the port is louder is because its sucking/hogging all the air from the port so there is less air getting to the sub farther away from the port. you need to fix up your box so it get air evenly or get a new one.

  • @SonicElectronix

  • @SonicElectronix

The easiest thing to do is drill a hole in the box to connect the two woofers with wire inside and just use one set of terminals. If not, you can wire the woofers together once outside the box and then take that right to the amp, but it is not a clean option.

  • @SonicElectronix

  • @SonicElectronix

You drill a small hole in the box wall between the two chambers and feed your wire through, then seal it up. However, if your sub amplifier has 4 terminals, you can wire each sub to a pair of terminals which will simplify wiring at the box.

I had to REALLY make the box fit and it fills my fairly large trunk while the dual 12" box fits easily. It's just been a while since I had a couple 15s.

    • @jross2434

1200. Watts required doubles as you add the speakers. The power is split evenly across the load. If you ran a 600w amp across both, it would only be pushing 300w and also probably cause your amp to over heat with the speakers demanding more from a less supply.

Hi my homie ordered a hifonics zues 1200 watt amp and we hooked two dual 4 subs to 1 ohm and the amps bass knob turns red when its hitting real hard? does this mean something in the wiring is off? i made sure everything was good the only thing i could think of is that the car is too old to take the amps power because it was dimming very hard. have you ever heard of this issue?

We use a Canon 7D or even a 5D Mark II.

What kind of amp would 2 fosgate p2 12" 800RMS w 1 ohm final impedance take for around or under $200?

    @Gahhruuba Před 11 lety

Hmm.. Well, I connected both subs to the box.. So would that matter if I just leave the one side disconnected from the amp? The voice coils are right beside eachother, not one on each side, so its a little different than the video.

Can any dual 4 ohm subs be wired together to 1ohm?

Wait so what wire do I use if I'm doing a series? Do I use the negative wire or positive wire to do series?

By series, I take it you mean wired in series vs. parallel. If you have a dual coil 4 ohm sub, you can make it an 8 ohm sub (assuming the amp you have takes that and won't go lower) by wiring the positive on one coil to the negative on the other coil and doing the same with the other side, wire the remaining negative to the positive of the other coil. This will but the coils in series, doubling the impedance of the speaker.
Some may ask why you would want to do this since most amps run 4 ohms down to 1 ohm. Think about really high power amps...thousands watts amps...and you want to run a lot of subs to that (those) amp(s)...electronic theory states that if you run impedances in series, they double the impedance, but running in parallel cuts the rated impedance in half. Hence, running two 4 ohm voice coils in parallel (positive to positive, negative to negative) drops the effective impedance to 2 ohms...and running two such speakers also in parallel drops the effective impedance to 1 ohm, increasing the power output of the amp (most amps put out more power the lower load impedance they feed...be sure and check you amps specs though and make sure they conform to the configuration you're building).
So, if you tie two voice coils in series, you get 8 ohms out. Tie two of those speakers in parallel and you'll get 4 ohms out. Now...tie two more speaker combos like that in parallel and you'll get 2 ohms out. You're now at 8 speakers. Do this one more time and you're at 1 ohm with 16 subwoofers. Now you're beginning to get the idea.

My math was off...2 8 ohm configured subs wired in parallel to 4 ohm, then two more 8 ohm configured subs wired in parallel to 2 ohms makes 4 subs, not 8...then doing that again will bring 8 subs down to 1 ohm...still impressive...but you can take that configuration to whatever you can imagine. Add two 8 ohm configured subs in series to make 16 ohms, then run more configurations like tied in series and parallel to make is as many speakers as you can physically fit in a space. Ever see a van with umpteen hundred (seemingly) subs? That's how they do it.

my sub shows 1.3-1.4ohm load is that normal for 1ohm wiring? i saw other videos it shows 0.8-0.9ohm? will it hit weaker if 1.3ohm?

I have a hifonics Brutus 1100 class d. I wired my box parallel. On the amp there's two negative terminals on the left and two positive on the right which ones do I run my wires to?

Aye can I do this with one 2 ohm dvc and one 4 ohm dvc ? I got the 2 ohm wired to 1 ohm rn

So I got Single X-12 D4 Sub Pro 12" Dual 4-ohm 1250w Rms Loud Bass Subwoofer and Amplifier is Mono bass 1Channel 1-Ohm rate for 3000W. I currently been connecting it as Parallel which Positive to Positive and Negative to negative but, my wire run from Amp to Sub tend to keep getting burnt out. Whats wrong, or whats the best way I should do or run?? Thanks in advances.
