I feel a man outrightly asks what you bring to the table when they do not see any value you add to the relationship. If you add something tangible, you will not be asked that question.

It's clear, if I ask a lady what she brings to the table, it is because there is first of all a table (relationship), and that table is specifically a FINANCIAL table like Husband Material said.
I think the question of what both parties bring to the table has always been there ...perhaps very salient. As a man, I do not have to ask the question directly like we are having a debate. I'd know whether you are adding anything to the relationship or not as time goes by. What are their stance on certain social issues? These are the things you take note of when you’re interested in someone and have long term intentions with them, even if it’s just mere friendship…..I can’t tell you what I’m going to do as a wife until I am one, but you sure will know if I’m the type of human being you see yourself spending the rest of your life with the more you get to know Me!!
