Scapegoat used to be good, not for generating tokens but for being a defensive card against attacks. It just aged like fine wine.
And then if you have any remaining tokens at the end of the opponent's turn, you can use them for either a Link (depending of the summoning requirements) or a Synchro Summon.
1 card Borrelsword-Borreload.
It had to be limited.
Ace Trainer AJ that’s nowadays. Back then it was a good defensive card.
@@sergiogonzales330In the early day of Yugioh, it was used for tributed to summon some boss monster like Destiny Hero - Plasma I think
Sekai Hunter the tokens can’t be tributed for tribute summons......?
I loved the scripted duel of Joey vs Kaiba where he called the Scapegoat tokens Joey Tokens.

I remember I used to see Dracosack a lot in the Dragon Ruler days, since they were all Lv 7.
yeah, thats why that card was expensive as fuck
Yea we loved that card
Lorallynn Sunborn I remember pulling that card in store and selling it for 100 right in the height of dragon rulers
Draccosacc, Big-eye and Master of Blades back then
Dark magician is a good arc for it 2
Honory mention: Multiply
Just tributing a kuriboh gives you 5 tokens in your field :D
can you use Multiply with Linkuriboh, and the other kuribohs, or just the basic one?
@@MysteriousChunk basic one
Buuuuuut you can easily search kuriboh :D
MysteriousChunk I’m pretty sure the card specifically lists the name “Kuriboh”
MysteriousChunk it has to be the original Kuriboh

I would love a multi part series of the top ten cards of each set. Going from Legend of the Blue Eyes to current.
Like that’s literally a good years worth of content
Except Davinator1212 has been doing that for awhile now. Granted there hasn't been a new entry in weeks but still
I love Scapegoat because the tokens are so cute! They're just happy little sleepy sheeps.
That said, I really hate using one with Metamorphosis to bring out Thousand-Eyes Restrict because it implies that the sheep is transformed into Restrict and that's upsetting.
My favorite use for the sheep is as ammo for Cannon Soldier. I find the fact that these tiny little floofs are just as effective as giant dragons, literal gods, and massive artillery trains as ammo.
yeet the sheep

Don't forget Scapeghost! Yes, it's slow for being a flip monster but the right archetype and set up make it the best token generator.
And at least with scapeghost you can use the tokens to tribute summon as well.
So scapeghost to me is number 1 in my book.
@@lloydandrewchapman1480 I think tribute summons are the least used summons

Suggestion for a top 10: archetypes with most cards?
I assume Heroes and Blackwings are up there.
Have numbers and archifiends
the more than six samurai
Superheavy Samurai have like 30 or 40 monsters xD
Superheavys are a monster only archetype so it's not surprising.
It's also not interesting to list a top 10 archetype with the most cards since HERO and NUMBER are so far ahead it's hilarious. Then you also need to have hard lines on what defines archetype. Is it anything that lists (archetype name) in it's title or description? ie: Elemental HERO Neos or Miracle Fusion. Are WITH EYES OF BLUE cards a separate archetype from BLUE-EYES even though they directly support and include BLUE-EYES in their effects? So you now have sub-archetypes a level under the main archetype which acts as support. Then you start defining what support in an archetype is and how broad you want your definition to be and then you start going down a rabbit hole. One person can say WITH EYES OF BLUE is part of the BLUE-EYES archetype while another says no. Then someone can say all Dinosaur type monsters fall under the greater DINOSAUR archetype.
Even HERO is an overarching archetype that includes 6 archetypes: Destiny, Elemental, Evil, Masked, Vision, Xtra. Do you separate each ones of those?
It's a deep rabbit hole that is more effort than it is interesting.
@@KaguyaEne "It's also not interesting to list a top 10 archetype with the most cards since HERO and NUMBER are so far ahead it's hilarious" can't be that different from Top 10 Most Represented Monster Types, can it?
Also explaining what defines an archetype can be part of the fun; understanding the listing process is entertaining, even if it's not objective. Just listing entries and numbers is not something this channel does.
What about top 10 cards with retrains, ie Magician of Black Chaos -> Dark Magician of Chaos?
Magician of black chaos max would be number 1,that's my ace card
@@Mythicinstinct elemental hero honest neos, scarlight red dragon archfiend, darkest diabolos, lord of the layer, blue-eyes alternative white dragon, ancient gear reactor dragon? Yeah magician of black chaos max wouldn't even make the list
Damn I was hoping scapeghost would be here but I guess needing to be set makes it too slow.

Arcana Force XVIII - The Moon!
my favorite token spell is Photon sanctuary. 2 tokens that I can immediately use for the galaxy link monster.
Lol right? Oh, I can only summon light monsters this turn? Say hello to my Galaxy-eyes Photon Dragon.
Nice touch putting the globe background behind O-Lion
Wow. I only after 2 spots realised this is not your newest video and I feel wow because I realised how much the game changed only this little of time, this video not a year old, but lot of things you talked about outdated. Your videos are the best for learning the Yu-Gi-Oh history! :)
I'm guessing the list is on cards whose main purpose is generating tokens, but Gorz and Nibiru still feel like they should be included in any list mentioning tokens lol
I like how you go into off cards and possibility's, bring to light old cards with new combo's. keep it up
Love these Top 10 List videos! Thanks for uploading!
I've had pretty great luck with Lair of Darkness. It may require a number of tributes to get tokens, and they don't come until the end phase, but its other functions are great as well. It turns all monsters on the field into DARK attribute (shutting down many attribute-based plays, including Honest), and it allows you to tribute an opponents monsters for effects that tribute (thus giving you more tokens.) Combine with Darkest Diabolos and virus traps, and you've got great potential. Running a super polymerization with lair will also make more of an asset out of Starving Venom.
i have just got (mecha phantom or something) in duel links and i was thinking, i hope that guy got a video about tokens :D, this is my lucky day apparently
I love mecha phantom beasts, my favorite archetype. I hope they’ll get more support one day
Me too, but honestly the link 3 we got is just such a shitty card. Not in sense of being good, its definitely good, but creativity wise it ruins the deck, gives 0 reason to run MPB besides olion and the link itself.... why is it so generic.
Do you know how long it has been since volcanic had support
Same, love them
@@promisnwekenta9703 it's literally banned right not lol

I feel like the Generaider Field Spell should be on this, though they haven't really had a chance to show any results yet. We'll see what they can really do when the level 4 monster comes out.
Generaiders will probably be tier 1 by then. Hands down. They become WAYYYYYYY too consistent. Having a masquerena and all the damn tokens on your opponents turn is absolutely terrifying. While having a nidhogg, the rock one, and a true king of all calamities staring down at you waiting for you to die.

Nice vid DuelLogs!
Back in the day I always used Oyster Meister in my Coelacanth deck. Then I learned how to summon two Shooting Quasar Dragons and draw all pieces of Exodia in one turn so they banned Fishborg Blaster. Other token cards I used were Fiendish Engine Omega in Orichalcos Monarchs, due to that card that allowed tribute monsters to be immune to effect destruction, I could make it gain attack every turn, and the tokens were protected by The Seal; and Gorz the Emmisary of Darkness, in whatever deck I could find space for it.
Hi! I would like to see a video you talk about some archetype that can work as an engine to gain advantage for themselves or in other deck
And o' course, the number 1 is a favourite of "Da Godfatha a Games!"
I’ve been really digging the way Black Garden and Nibiru interact. Since Black Garden forces your opponent to special summon a token every time they summon a monster, it means you can activate Nibiru’s effect two monsters early. Additionally, if you chain Nibiru to the Black Garden being about to summon the third rose token, then Nibiru will tribute everything before Black Garden summons that token so once everything resolves and Black Garden summons tokens in response to both Nibiru and its own token, you’ll end up with three monsters on the field while your opponent only gets two, although they can at least take out one of your rose tokens with theirs. Black Garden in general is a really powerful card against certain decks if you use it right.
Good video, but I would like to see best gemini monsters in the near future personally.
Steam the Cloak ma boi is so underrated, there will come a time where you all will need him...
The Generaider Field Spell is also a really good Token generator it summons a raider and 4 tokens
I feel like scapeghost should have at least gotten an honorable mention
I surpassed the hell out of my son by flipping scapeghost and then summoning Dystopia. Scapeghost is very underrated.
I have an appreciation for Dracossack as a Harpie deck user in Legacy of the Duelist.
i'd also add that dracossack was an out to skill drain, since you can tribute dracossack itself to destroy skill drain, and it will resolve in the GY, therefore winning the exchange since skill drain only negates stuff that resolves on the field, quite the good interaction given how common skill drain was at the time dracossack was also meta
i think were counting quantity over quality. Number 64 can summon a token that can crash a max dragon or an ultfalc.
Needlefiber is starting a new era on yugioh. We will classify the timeline with before Needlefiber and after Needlefiber
So like Star Wars BBY and ABY.
"Before Needlefiber. After Needlefiber, After Needlefiber Gets Banned"
And then Red Eyes Dragun. It has already totally changed the meta on the TCG
@@canete571 Cards who changed the meta... Could this become a top 10 list??
@@robsonfujii461 probably?
In Tenyi decks there is a card called Shaman of the Tenyi, which can discard a card then special summon a wyrm type monster from the graveyard, so in tenyi decks, mare mare isn't a garnet,
Shaman of the tenyi is link - 2 with / \ arrows and it's requirements is 2 wyrm type monsters
Since you do Custom Card reviews on the side, how do you decide which cards to review?
I am surprised that Void Expansion wasn't on the list somewhere. It gives a token every turn!
so 2-3 tokens, maybe 5 over time.
I was able to summon at least 5 Extra Deck monsters using Scapegoat in my Cyberse Lockdown Deck. Only reason I didn't win was because my opponent was using Ultimate Falcon
Generaider Boss Field and Rite of Aramesir needs a part 2 to this video
with the extra monster zone, bishbaalkin can make a LOT of tokens
My preferred use for Mare Mare after bringing it out with Yazi is to use 1 token for Link Spider, then another token for Linkuriboh, and then use Mare Mare, Mini Mare Mare Token, Link Spider, and Linkuriboh for Saryuja Skulldread.
Also, given "mare" (pronounced MAR-ay) is the Latin word for sea, and Mare Mare is a seahorse, I think the two "Mare"s in Mare Mare are actually pronounced differently. MAR-ay MAIR. At least, it feels more clever if they were aiming for that, IMO.
Dandylion S2, loving to use it in YuGiOh Gx Tag Force
holy shit he pronounced trio the right way this time
Generaider Boss Stage should DEFINITELY be on this list, if not #1. Not only does it give you a monster with a very powerful effect (potentially a negate) for free, it also fills your board with tribute fodder for those effects.
Pacifis, the Phantasm City is really good to use with ♊ (Gemini) monsters.
But don't all the Phantom cards stop working once you summon them again?
@@nulllex0099 naw, they can stay on the field. And there are really good combos for them. For ex: red eyes fusion dragon(where you can send equipped cards to the graveyard to stop something) and chivalrous knight. A gemini monster that can send equipped cards to the graveyard, and Target and destroy one card your opponent controls.
@@nulllex0099 so in lame man terms: as long as they are still on the field: they are still useful i.e parallel twister.
What about generaider boss stage when you opponent draws a card you get to special summon a generaider monster and 4 genraider tokens
I expected Generaider Boss Stage in the top 3
I think its because it only works well in its own deck. While this list had a lot of token makers that were generic enough to be used in a wide variety of decks
@@Zoey587 wouldn't say pacifis to be a genereic card. That is still on the list
Indeed. The amount of advantage you can get off the Field Spell is insane (provide you prevent your opponent interrupting it), it's Ability to special someone Generaiders is NOT a hard once per turn, and their are so many ways to make use of those Token during your opponent's turn (or even your own, if you summon Nagflar and use itself to preserve them). Only problems with the Spell is that it's rather do or die in its usage and its potential as an engine is hampered by the lack of great targets for it currently and its archetype's relative inflexibility, but in the later case it's getting a bunch of great support cards soon to fix that, and good deck building can take care of the former, so I'd say its pretty potent Token and advantage generator that's ripe for exploitation.
i once stole a phantasm spiral card with toad and was able to use it do to the fact that paleos are normal monsters it felt really cool
Lost World is one of the best. Mostly because it comes with built-in ways to abuse the token it spawns, and is only a soft once per turn on each effect including the token summon.
List idea top ten best cards to summon with marauding Capitan's effect.
Oh this video has aged so terribly, we need to revisit this topix
Ah yes, Scapegoat trolling the TCG format since 2003. 😋
Lost World is a good one, too, at any time a Dinosaur Monster is Normal or Special Summoned, it generates a token on your opponents side of the field, once per turn. However, it's secondary effect shines here in dinosaur decks, because if a Normal Dinosaur Monster would be destroyed by card effect or battle, you can destroy any Dinosaur from your deck or hand instead. The Dinomasher's Fury deck did great with this card with the cards it had. There are better ones, but I felt like it deserved an honorable mention
I miss Galaxy Tomahawk in my Dark Magician deck.
ok so for scapegoat you use it on your 2nd turn or at the opponents end phase, summon 3 link spiders for example and go into borrelsword ?
And here I am, waiting for Trickstar Fes to come to the TCG... eventually... hopefully...
Scapegoat also can use to special summon Destiny Hero Blood
There’s also a new MPB link monster that seems to be good
I remember they used to have dracossack tournaments as the prize
No Generaider Boss Stage?
Some honorable mentions: Kuriboh's Multiply, and Scapeghosts.

Tokens are treated as non-effect monsters. That link monster you showed requires effect monsters. I get the idea, but that was just a bad example.
One card I missed a lot on the list is generaider bosslevel
Can you also look at top ten cards thatare bad when they first came out but become meta today
Is funny because right now Konami say "fuck this list, we are making swordsoul and adventurer" and just overpass this whole list by far.
what is the name of that track in the background, its so calming
I was at first agitated that Galaxy Tomahawk got banned since I figure that it’s such a lengthy combo just for a link 4, and since all 5 tokens could have been banished by a single bottomless, but I do understand why they did it since there are far more balanced Token generators in the game.
Bottomless? That card hasn't seen play in half a decade. Tomahawk is practically a 1 card ftk and at worst it's a 1 card saryuja. Card is completely busted.

Fun fact: Master Rule 2020 buffed Dracossack. In MR4 you can't just summon 2 token with Dracossack's effect and Linked them off, because Dracossack stayed in the Extra Monster Zone. Now you can just summon Dracossack, activate its effect, then summon a Link 2 easily, while keeping Dracossack on the field
You could summon a Link 3 using Dracosack or a 2 using a Token and Dracosack
Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon. Damn it, shame Ib World Chalice Justiciar got banned recently. Believe me Auroradon is pretty crazy as the final link summoned monster.
I'm surprised Dragonoid Generator wasn't on this list. It's used a lot in Vanity's Stun.
Activate this card by paying 1000 LP. During your Main Phase: You can Special Summon 1 "Dragonoid Token" (Machine/EARTH/Level 1/ATK 300/DEF 300) in Attack Position, you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, also during the End Phase your opponent Special Summons 1 "Dragonoid Token" to their field in Attack Position (even if this card leaves the field). You can use this effect of "Dragonoid Generator" up to twice per turn.
