The modernist junk began even before Vatican 2, but after that and the new Mass, it all speedily went downhill. I was really little at the time and liked the fact of not having to wear the mantilla at church, and then Communion in the hand, because our priest always touched our tongues when putting the host, and my friends and I were totally grossed out by it. But then things just kept deteriorating.
