Shout out to @Myhammy for brining it to my attention.
As a seasoned SC pilot, it never hurts to learn new pointers. Your teaching style is succinct and eloquent. You got yourself a new subscriber.
It’s like zeroing your sights , fine tuning your aim, I actually never fully understood esp until I watched this vid…yessss another sub and look forward to checking out your channel properly. Thanks
Absolutely brilliant tutorial and your strength (if you don’t mine me saying) is that you assume nothing about the watcher in your explanations and detail every little thing. Great style, accessible and easy to listen to. I’ve really struggled with other tutorials from more famous names but I totally get ESP now. Subbed. Keep up the great work and I’ll be looking for more of your tips and guides to help me become a better pilot.
I honestly expected this video to be some kind of clickbait but this was actually informative and not some blatantly obvious stuff that gets mentioned in literally every single SC tutorial video! You have my sub :)
Short, precise, straight to the point, this tutorial was a lot more helpful than expected.
Such a great channel, fantastic info and straight to the point. You deserve WAY more subs my dude, keep it up!
This! I've been struggling to push further, so I decided to go back through tutorials looking for things I may have missed. This is game changing; an actual pracitce to tune in ESP. Thank You
Thanks for the tips. Upgrading my dual sticks helped a lot with light fighters but I’ll try this as well. You got yourself a new subscriber
How did I only just find your channel? Subbed! Very good and concise!
nice and concise guides. Brilliant edititing. awesome music! Love your vids. You deserve 100x the views
Fantastic video! A lot of content in a very brief span. Good work.
Great vid. Original Kickstarter backer here and I've never bothered to tune my control settings. Gonna give it a go now
Really good explanation. Will share this with my org to help new combat pilots.
this is the video i was looking for. great video!
That was an interesting video, and well explained. I'm not much of a PVP combat pilot but it'll still be interesting to check this out!
I can't wait to get my sticks, it's gonna be such a game changer. I've been bingeing a bunch of your vids just to get all of the info in my head lmao. So concise and easy to understand, thank you for doin what you do
I picked up some Gladiator NXT sticks about a year-ish ago, and they have been a total game changer
Recently got my dual sticks (alphas) and spending a lot of time just fine tuning the bindings and curves. HUGE difference right away tho
What sticks are u getting? I’m buying a whole new pc setup and planning on getting VKB Omni throttle left and a VKB space fighter right. I’m just unsure as a dropped a ton of money on the new pc parts lol
Love the vid, sadly I'm a little confused about the "explanation" bit where you want us to find a comfortable setting for flight. You use "curvature" and "sensitivity" so my confuzzlement is a if you mean the ESP curvature or mouse/stick sensitivity/deadzone settings along with the VJoy Range settings. During the "Exercise" you mention 1.0 and 1.2 but again I'm sadly bit lost on which of the sliders you mean. >///< just hope for a lil clarification, am sorry it didn't quite click.
Another new thing I learned today in Star Citizen which I have been playing for 3+years, man so much to this game.
Book marked. This video goes on my short list of MUST watch videos. Definitely needs to be watched several times!
Really well put together explanation video on this and I super appreciate it.
Good vid. I'll keep this in mind for when I eventually play (it won't be for a very long time!)
This was very well crafted. Great video.
This was super helpful.
This is good. Great work!
Thank you for all :D I can finally aim with my hotas
Good teaching style and explanation. Keep up the good work.
That was a very well done tutorial. I am excited to watch your other ones. Sub!
Good stuff. Thanks!
Wow what an awesome tutorial well done thank you, just subscribed.
Great video dude, thanks for the guide
Great video, I learned something today 🖖
Subscribed. Very well done.
I can't wait until I get my HOSAS setup later this year. I'll be referencing this video for sure once I get it! Great info
Shiii, I'm excited for ya!
Great guide, keep them coming :)
Nice vid. Will definitely try it out
Mike brought me here. You should do his podcast.
I have been pvping for a few years in SC now. Bought dual sticks 1 year ago and still havent mastered them tbh.. But this will surely help. Thanks man! Definitely liked and subbed, keep em coming cheers!
Def check out my other videos then, You'll get there, start in order on my Guides playlist.
@@JohnathanWinters Do you do any live coaching/classes?
@@vericz No Really but maybe, drop me an email and I'll send you some info.
JohnathanWintersGaming@Gmail.com
thank you man. Thank you very much
Awesome video. Subbed
Thanks for this 👍
@JohnathanWinters Also, regarding the ESP zone size you state, "If you find while you are trying this that your PIP feels unstable or that you're overshooting too much, then it's time to lower your degrees." Did you mean it's time to INCREASE your degrees, as in to make the ESP field larger? If the area gets smaller, it's even easier to overshoot or be unstable.
Correct its raise, added a pinned comment.
Great data
excellent video and explanation!
Great info !! Thank u !!!
Very good. Tyvm...🤟😊
Holy shit! I just realized me and some friends were fighting with and against you in the PU earlier this week lol. Great vid bro, you're a hell of a pilot.
Hey gun, I remember ya :) thanks man.
@@JohnathanWinters I actually watched this video yesterday, opened up my PC this morning and noticed your name and was like oh yea! I remember him! Good content man, keep it up.
@@gunplay5380 Hahaha, thanks man, check out my other stuff, I teach a lot of pvp stuff very differently =]
Hey nice, have been playing for years and also fly in DCS a bit, but this never occurred to me in SC. Cheers
First of all, thank you for the videos. I just started watching/rewatching as I’m trying to get better at pvp. To set a hold for ESP off, do I just hold the button down when setting the keybind?
ty men help alot
so tighten the circle a bit and increase the slow down. got mine at 6.5 and 1.7 - surprised no one else has posted what felt decent. Id like to try other peoples numbers
I think you can increase the speed back to the pip by doing a quarter roll towards the target the turning towards target, instead of flat turning towards the target.
Nice info 👌🏽
Thanks :)
Did you also adjust the sensitivity curves for the several axis?
great video
How to adjust the precision damping curve and precision zone size for mouse and keyboard? These two enhanced option are not available for me above the VJoy visibility?!
Great video, as usual :). Thanks for all your contributions to this community! Is ESP usable with kb/m or is it just for sticks?
Thank you, and yes it is usuable.
@@JohnathanWinters stupid question but, how do we know this function applies to kb/m?
@@WhyDidYTstartThisHandleShit Same way, for Kbm I recommend 7 degrees and 1 sens
Could you do a tutorial for pip setting for the cutty black Ive got long tails
Hey can you make a new guide with patch 3.23 which has received major changes in ESP and combat? Thanks!
Question: Can i store what guns fire on what button, instead of having to do this every time i fly in the same ship, or die in ArenaCommander?
good video!
OMG THANK U COACH
PUT ME IN COACH!
@justinwinters Hey brother I do not have the ESP toggle/hold option under flight movement. It just says "press" is there a way to change that?
Thank you for making this tutorial. After keybinding the E.S.P. to a key, when in flight how do you know if it's on or off?
The bottom Left on Ship HUD, says ESP.
Stupid question but is the snap only for aiming with joysticks I’m on mnk and I don’t ever notice a snap
What's your go to personal setting?
Is this possible with mouse and keyboard too?
at 1:32 how do I change my stick curviture from 1.0 to 1.2? Is that an in game setting?
where can i find ESP or is it just for people who use thrusters?
As a seasoned SC player and discord moderator/admin I approve of this video much wow
Really sorry if this is a stupid question. Is this joystick only?
Does this work with a mouse?
Good shtuff mang
This is 🥇!
Does this also apply to/help Keyboard & mouse pilots?
@JohnathanWinters In your video you talk about the circle strafe. Fortunately, I knew what you were talking about. However, not everyone does. You then referenced a link in your description, which is to a playlist. Unfortunately, you DIDN'T say which video on your playlist was the one related to circle strafing.
For those of you looking for the circle strafe video, it's titled "Why You’re Easy to Hit, How to Stay Evasive | Star Citizen Guide 3.17.2".
Your right, corrected.
What about heavy fighters like an inferno? Can the same thing be applied too something like that too? I find I miss way too many shots before I can take the enemy out because of how sluggish the turning is with it so my aim just goes all over the place and is a mission and a half just trying too keep my aim on the pip.
This applies but find ur values in a light fighter. Heavies struggle against fast targets due to thier heavy inertia.
Can you give me your recomended setup for all of this points mentionned in this video for give us a "good base to custom" to our preference please ?
Start at 1.0 and work your way up, there is no best. Everyone is different and has different setups. Just follow the guide for each method and you'll figure it out for you.
That said I use
1.2 yaw/pitch/roll
2.5 strafes
esp curve 1.8
esp degree 7.4
I'm new to the verse and understand the basics for the most part. My question is how do you fight with just the crosshair and not the line that you use to look around? If that makes sense
That line is just an assist tool that indicates how far from the center your mouse is positioned. It has no effect on your aim.
I use sticks so I don't need a line.
I only see esp strength did they get rid of the other options for esp? Its like the sliders just disappeared I don't think they got renamed.
I'm looking for some hardware tips. Currently I'm using dual sticks but I feel like I could be doing something differently and more efficiently. I come from a drone racing background so it was easiest for me to setup throttle and yaw on my left stick with pitch and roll on my right stick, just like my drones. Then used my hat for strafing. I need more control over my strafing but don't like to twist the sticks, that usually causes unintentional input. Foot pedals for yaw is like an airplane but isn't nearly as responsive enough for me. I know there is something I could change to aim better but I don't know where to start.
Not what you want in space. Right stick pitch and yaw, left stick strafes, twist for roll. If you don't have pedals, right stick rolls.
@@JohnathanWinters so roll on pedals?
@@LeslieWorks No, strafe forward and back on pedals.
what ship is that at 1:04 mark
Hey! Hmm.. I'm trying to figure out how to explain without sounding absolutely braindead lol.. So when i use Vjoy i have a smooth turning and movement, but when i toggle my mouse mode it feels so stiff.. Like, if i were to make a U-turn i would have to move my mouse across my entire desk. But watching you it seems so smooth and you can easily make turns and follow the target. It's kinda like there's resistance... I hope this makes sense and enough info for you to help me out! Thanks, and keep up the good work!
Thanks, I get ya, I use joysticks.

I usually turn off assists like this but I'm curious about trying the ESP toggle and fire button on the same bind so it only kicks in ESP when you are actively firing.
hi did you try binding fire and ESP? what is the outcome Thanks
@@Ibraav I tried but its just more annoyance. There is no option to have ESP default off anymore and the ESP keybind is a wonky hold/toggle that isn't fit for use. You can go into the xml file and edit the keybind to just a toggle but then you have to dedicate another key to constantly "fix" the ESP getting turned on. Until they bring back the option to have ESP default to off, I would just leave it turned off. Not worth the hassle.
Are you using mouse or joystick? Turning off ESP sounds hard to me. I have no control over my Virpil Alpha if i do that, just way too sensitive.
I turned off most of the “”assist”” features as they annoy the heck out of me
Target in sight and moving fast = cant put target down sights as the ship will not turn at the required speed even under full input
I also like to have a fixed curve that doesn’t change with any change happening in real time because its a pain to have to adjust to the game when things change on and off
I also have it set so my head is fixed looking forward without zoom or target tracking because that also annoys me because it prevents me seeing my MFD’s correctly and sometimes at all
How do you set your head to fixed? That stuff annoys me too and I can't figure it out either
@@danth3man763 unfortunally i cant really remember
But its a bunch of look ahead and look at target settings
Think its 4 different settings each of which have multiple sliders or something
Dont have the game installed right now and it should take over a week to install so you will need to look elsewhere to find out how
Game settings, look ahead disable all the features down there.
@@danth3man763 Game Settings, Vehicle, Targeting. One of those will have Zoom in the name. It's set to Yes. Set to No.
How do you even get your hotas to work, got the thrustmaster t1600 and I'm 2 days into asking for help and using xml files that only half work..
Lot to do there, check the description and enter the discord, I'll help ya out.
I noticed you're using LEAD pip, do your instructions apply to LAG as well?
They do
@@JohnathanWinters That's good to know, I got my butt handed to me last night doing some 1v1s, I haven't touched the ESP settings at all - hoping to find some wins in this department, thank you for your video.
Thank you. I will dust off my sticks and see how this works.
how do i get mouse and keyboard to feel like this? or is it not possible?
Same guide applies
Do you fly decoupled most of the time or do you don't use it? I heard that the best pilots all fly decoupled.
I do, and correct.
Why does lowering the degrees decrease the chance of overshooting the pip? Feels like it would be the opposite.
Gives your mind less time to respond to the sensitivity change. Like jumping out of a moving car, the faster the car goes the harder it is to not fall when your feet touch the ground.
Will have to play with the setting since what you described is something i am struggling with. I am constantly overshooting and having issues "guiding" the pip on smoothly.
@@gembrey11 Just make sure to do it in the order specified in the video. Starting at 1:30
cool i just saw you
try it but still cant aim with joystick flying is ok and when it cames to aiming to target or blue circle aim is going so hard not smooth impossible to lock on compare to mouse
Does this work on the turret gunner esp?
Si
P.I.T.W. targeting it will give you instant relief and only Star Citizen has mastered this targeting system. Pissing In The Wind requires just the right amount of angle to get the best arc to hit the floor in front of the target... After all that is how lasers work, for realz!!!
Does this apply to mouse&keyboard users?
Yes
does this work for mouse and keyboard as well?
Yes it does.
@@oldman1111 Muahaha I see lol... This man just cured my Ship PVP disability of 4 years...
Hahaha
I don't have an option for "hold" toggle of ESP in my keybindings. Here's what I see:
E.S.P. - Toggle On / Off (Press)
@ui_v_ifcs_esp_hold
What the heck is that 2nd one? Is that it and, if so, what's with the bizarre label?
