- It’s late April and we’re out in the Cotswolds on Roebuck recon’ trying to catch up with some bucks we’ve been seeing over Winter/early Spring.
As we stalk into a small plantation, we’re stopped in our tracks by a buck we’ve not seen before, a buck that could do some real damage to others if left…

Good stuff Owen.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video as always!
Appreciate the kind words! More to come!!
I have heard them called murder bucks as well.
Yes, murder bucks, killer bucks same thing! All pose a real problem when it comes down to disputing territory with a neighbouring buck 👍🏽
@@CervusUK Agreed. However, that one had had it's day so unlikely to be competing with the big boys anymore, hence it was keeping out of the way in a small wood.
Surely you can see at 4:56 that he's an old buck. Massive slope to coronets which are right on it's head. Skinny neck and poor weak antlers. Of course he was in hard antler too. It's all there on the hoof! Checking the teeth should have shown you nothing that wasn't already obvious!
Short few seconds of assessment and at 70m through a narrow line of trees. Your a better man than me @marks1014 to call his age. I have shot 2 year olds same size it was the two spikes on its head that sealed his fate. His age was a bonus.
Thanks for watching.
No room for mistakes with the shoot at the neck. Poor animal if shot one inch in the the one or the other direction..
You’re right. That’s why professional deer managers like ourselves are fully qualified and fully competent with over 35 years of experience in taking these sorts of shots.
We pride ourselves on being effective and efficient - that is the only way we will successfully control deer numbers to a healthy balance here in the U.K.
Great film guys. Paul@testvalleyvenison
