Nice haul Tuco!! Sam and Dave, alright!!!!! The Outsiders are cool too! Your videos are looking very professional!! Great job! Cheers, Jon
Thanks Jon! I'm really starting to find my groove! I'm really digging doing these Thrift With Me videos, because...well...because thrifting is what i do...just being me!!! And I know editing is not for everyone, but i love doing it! It's a creative outlet!
I never find Flying Burrito Brothers anywhere. That Outsiders is a great album, You are the Pickup Artist of the day.
What an honor...to be dubbed "Pickup Artist Of The Day!" Thanks!!!
Love that Outsiders album! I actually have it! They have another album with a similar cover that I still need. I heard that nice crease break when you opened that gatefold on Taj Mahal! Love that crisp sound! I would’ve grabbed those 2 Buckinghams albums Great 60’s pop/ bubblegum stuff! I’ve tried to get into the Flying Burritos but I’m just not feeling them. Never seen that Garson album before! Nice picks VVH! Peace ☮️✌️👽🤘☮️
Yeah, the Burritos ain't my thing either...they're going in the for sale pile...I'll sell them at our next record show then spend the money on records I DO want!
Hey Tuco !! Keep the streak rollin '.. awesome.. been out of town, Oahu. Just got back, and made it to a record shop in Waikiki. Brought back 1970's Hawaiian Soul Funk Jazz Heat !! Very good start with that Sam And Dave !
I'm jealous!!! As a former over-the-road trick driver, I've been to every state except Hawaii and Alaska! Have fun!!!
@@VinylHunter It was a blast.. back now, with a stack of new records. No Martin Denny, though..
Real good haul.
Thanks Dereck! Wait til you see the haul from a Seward antique store!...the guy said he had more records in the back room! Mind Blowing!!!
Johnny Winter, Burrito's..and two at that.. we call that " The Blue Album".. you passed on Leo Kottke Mudlark.. you will see it again. I am coming to Nebraska ! You really did score BIG !! And That's no lie !!!! We are cut from the same cloth Tuco.. I am still on a bit of a thrifting break.. but my Hawaiian records will hold me over. Cheers brother !
I've slowed down on thrifting for a couple weeks because I've been moving...too aching to thrift! I nap on my lunch breaks instead.
@@VinylHunter Right.. I hit it especially hard last year... did real good too ! Your video's are alot of fun Tuco.. Have a good one !
Great haul for sure. The best part of Diggin in the crates is having plenty of time to go through everything. Also to have no one around Diggin in. Thanks for sharing. ☮️
Well, fortunately i was the only one looking at records there...but i only had a half hour to look...lunch break.
Beautiful record finds and thanks for sharing and keep on digging and posting.
Thank you! I've got some more great hauls coming soon! One, an antique store said he had more records in the back room....!!!! Wait till you see what was in there!!!
Great video. Love them burrito albums
Thanks! Yeah that was a lucky find!!! Right place at the right time!
Hi tuco some excellent finds ..monk , cale, and many more .. great video my friend👍👍👍
Thanks Rob! I've been on a roll!!! Tons of great hauls lately!!! I've got several more in the coming weeks too!!!
@@VinylHunter I’ve been watching don’t always comment .. keep em coming Have a great weekend 👍
Tuco you struck gold, mate. Spinny & Minty : )
Oh man! This was such a lucky strike! I was on such a lucky streak for quite a while (still more of those videos to come!)
YOOOO...you were literally in my neck of the woods!! I am west of Omaha-Lincoln region. Guess I won't be traveling to Wahoo for a while, you picked out the goods haha. Last time I visited the town only one antique shop was open and came out empty. Well done.
Thank you! Yeah the one across the street didn't have anything of interest. Wait till you see my Seward haul!!! Antiques On 34 I think is the name of the place.
@@VinylHunter Dude, I live very close to there. My first stop there nearly 3 years ago I found a couple Leonard Cohen originals. I stopped back one other time & nothing had changed. Maybe I'll stop in again soon. You live in the area? I thought I was the only one around central NE! Definitely giving you a shoutout on my next video. Good to meet you man.
I'm in Omaha, but i drive around central Nebraska for my job.
Nice to meet you too! Thanks!
Ha ha sweet score man!! happy for u! i stuck out at 3 goodwills today but it comes in spirts as I'm sure you know.Great video enjoyed cheers!!!!
Yeah, i hear it so often people saying you can't find records at thrift stores! Not True! It takes a lot of "work" though...(to me it's not "work", it's fun!)
Amazing finds :)
Thanks! Yeah this was one of those rare lucky jackpots! I've been on a lucky streak! More great finds coming in future videos! My most insane haul is yet to come...only 5-6 records, but pretty mind blowing!!!
Congrats
Thanks Rob! I've got more crazy hauls filmed! Wait until you see the antique store where the guy said he had more records in the back room!!!!!
Never heard of Jo Mama, according to discogs Carole King is on backing vocals and one of her compositions is included. I love this kind of stuff.
Interesting! I didn't know that!
If you're ever in Southern California you should check out my roommates record store in Huntington Beach. It's called Vinyl Solution. Good video I'm now a subscriber.
Thanks man, welcome aboard!!! It'd be nice to get to California! I haven't been there since i was an over-the-road truck driver 10 years ago!
Nice haul! Love me some blues rock and that Sam and Dave is choice
We'll have to have a listening/house warming when i get my place put together!
Hi Tuco!! you really keep hitting big, getting cool stuff and saving a lot of money. I don't know most of those bands/artists, but i'm sure they must all be pretty cool..... and hope you make a good profit of them if you decide to put them on sale. cheers.
Yeah, I've been on a roll!!! Some I'm keeping...some I'm selling.
Wahoo is what you say when you find vinyl like you found here. Nice haul for sure! I've had a lot of luck in the thrift stores these past few months too, but also on a few cheaper sites in Discogs (they are there, but you have to search for them). Nothing at all beats finding gold in the thrift stores.
"Wahoo is what you say..." 😂🤣😂 Damn!!!! I dropped the ball on that one!!! I shoulda used that line!!! 😂🤣😂
Quite a haul, reminds me of thrifting back in the days before the vinyl comeback.
I was on the tail end of that...i wish i was thrifting for records more back then! Now is the time to be buying CDs!
You passed on John Klemmer's Touch (1975). That is a fantastic soft jazz record...and perfect make-out mood music.
Yeah, I'm not really familiar with him, but i was pretty sure it was soft jazz which I'm not into. I KNEW i was passing something that somebody would be interested in though. It's just not for me.
@@VinylHunter Understood. I'm not a soft jazz guy either, but I found the Mobile Fidelity LP cheap and took a chance. Great stuff -not like Kenny G.
You passed on Clockwork Orange s/t? That is a tough one, definitely worth a few bucks.
Yeah, I've got it...and this one was moldy
Some great finds. Love these videos. My heart skipped a beat when I saw that multi-colored “stereo” heading on the top of what had to be a minty Crown label record that you flipped by without pulling up to see what it was..lol…that kind of thing always happens in crate digging videos, lol.
Ha! I know the logo you speak of! I don't remember what the record was...i even rewatched to see if i could tell, probably Straus Waltzes or something...i do know i had a better view than the camera did. Guys like you and me are lucky because we like a lot of things that others pass by! Thrift stores have a lot more to offer for us. Even more so for you because your taste in easy listening is much more broad than mine.
I've got a huge estate sale haul coming up...50+ records....I think most viewers are going to be wondering why i grabbed ANY of them, but you're going to be wondering why i didn't grab the rest! 😂🤣😂🤣😂
@@VinylHunter Yes, whenever I watch crate digging, I always compliment the people who slightly show each record, rather than skipping the stuff they aren't interested in...because that's usually what I WANT to see, lol.
@@VinylHunter Haha, right?1 Can't wait to see it!
Nice haul! Curious, why not take home “a clockwork orange?”
It was in bad shape and I've already got it. I love Stanley Kubrick! I also have 2001 and Barry Lyndon!
It is funny how watching these types of videos I always get worked up about albums the person digging passes up. Every time you flipped past that Leo Kotke I wanted to jump in and grab it. Also, that Clockwork Orange…
Of course, we don’t know what you already have, or see what the condition is, or know all your inner biases towards or away from certain artists. But a fun video and nice haul.
Honestly, i was unfamiliar with him...i always just assumed he was light jazz...but i just listened to some and was blown away!
Clockwork Orange I already have and that one was moldy
@@VinylHunter Leo Kotke is a very unique acoustic guitar player. I have seen him live. You can tell it is him typically within the first couple seconds.
Leo is awesome. Really great live. He was one of the first on Tacoma. Really funny dialogue and manner live. One of those early fingerstyle guys. Never seen ya pick up Windom Hill stuff. Some of it is really cool and excellent sound. Michael Hedges is a god. Usually in record stores that stuff is a buck. Great vid!
Some great scores! I thought I saw a Tom Scott & The LA Express lp. That would worth grabbing for sure. Lee Michaels also great.
I might have blown right past it
I've got Tom Cat in my collection.
Great score Tuco, you should go back and get that Clockwork Orange soundtrack, it's a cool record.
Yeah! I've got it! I passed because it was moldy! I've got Clockwork Orange, 2001, and Barry Lyndon! Big fan of Kubrick!!!
You passed up on the Providence album. They sound just like the Moody Blues.
If i remember correctly, i think i pick it up on my next visit there? I've got so much lately it's hard to keep track.
You should've picked up those three Buckinghams LPs. Fantastic 1960s pop-rock. Otherwise, really nice stuff (i.e., condition is everything).
Buckinghams is one of those bands that i hear too much on the radio...but, I've never their deeper tracks though, so I'll probably snag them next time if they're still there.
Interesting see what kind records there are in crates when you are digging... All complety different than here... It is like nightmare to go thru flea markets crates thru here...
It's usually a nightmare here too! I've been having a very lucky streak though! Usually i don't find stuff like this!
@@VinylHunter In monday I could do little trips to 2 circulation centers when driving back home from our cabin... Maybe I'll take few clips there. Let's see.
I'd love to see that!!!
@@VinylHunter Video is online now. I made the clips for Clifförd the Vinyl Cheapskate Contest... It includes one record that I bought after inspiration from your video.
greetings from Australia. Dang, you guys are spoiled for choice. We have to dig waaay deeper here. Alot of houses and garage sales. Our thrift stores are absolutely murdered. Big diggers already have a guy working there in the backroom(thrift stores) that call them the day they hit the shelves. USA is still GREAT!!!
The thrift stores in the big cities here (Omaha, Lincoln...) are very picked through too...that's why i do much of my hunting in more remote places...places that aren't overrun by resellers
I have "Troubadour" and love that album. How is that Sam & Dave? See that Stax label and I'm probably picking it up.
I haven't had a chance to listen yet because I'm moving...haven't got my stereo hooked up yet....but I'm sure you've heard Soul Man and Hold On I'm Coming...great stuff!
If you like space age bachelor pad pop, I’d suggest next time to pick up that Herb Alpert Sounds Like. Don’t know why people sleep on Herb...
I second that! I've got nearly every Tijuana Brass album!
Cool!!
Pogues CD missing the actual discs? Now that's heartbreaking. I once spent hours digging through thousands of LPs at a Catholic thrift store. Found a copy of Maggot Brain...and it was empty. Wasn't a total loss, though-save there with a Spirit record.
Spoiler Alert!!!! In an upcoming video!!!
Nice haul!!
Pretty sure both of those Burrito Brothers are after Chris Hillman kicked Gram Parsons out of the band.
Yeah, no Parsons on either of those.
I can't believe you passed on the Buckinghams. Are you kidding me ???
All i know is Hey Baby, and Kind Of A Drag which I've heard waaay too many times on the radio.
@@VinylHunter Don't You Care and Susan were also good tunes. Anyway , if we all liked the same thing life might be a little boring...lol
Ahhh! I know Don't You Care too...it's funny how some artists you know more of their songs than you realize. I didn't recognize the name, but i just listened and, yep, i know that one...but i was unfamiliar with Susan. I don't listen to the radio much, but when i do i usually only listen to the oldies station.
Mort Garson score
Yeah! I love Mort Garson! I'm surprised someone else knows who he is!
Hello
Sorry but your dollar valuations don't make sense.
Some of the records if Mint may be worth even more, such as the Outsiders, and others like Buttiros live from 1973 or Jack Bruce much less because they are very common and cheap if in fair / VG conditions like those you have shown...
Also, if you buy them to resell, removing the shrink is equivalent to taking away at least a 20% or more profit. Super important! Seeing you remove it was PAINFULL!
If you buy these records for your personal coollection it's completely different and then yes, doing as you like ... ciao
Don't take the cellophane off
Definitely controversial...but it's going right into a bag...so still protected.
Btw, i leave the shrink on if there's a hype sticker or a cool old price sticker.
IMHO I think the record isn't complete anymore once the cellophane has been taken off. I leave them on unless they are completely thrashed or are gatefold.
I have over 10,000 albums and certainly try to keep them all original.
BTW I still like watching your channel though.
I totally agree. I leave it on as well.
I can't bare to watch the way you slam around the records you don't want. You find some great stuff, but there's no need to treat the unwanted records the way you do. I know you're filming with one hand but really!
Nice haul! Curious, why not take home “a clockwork orange?”
I've already got it, and this copy was moldy. I'm a huge Kubrick fan though...I've got (on vinyl) Clockwork Orange, 2001, and Barry Lyndon!
