I used to tell my waitstaff: “you’re a server, not a servant. Don’t let anybody boss you around or give you shit.” Words to live by in this industry.

The simple rule to follow is Treat the Customer how they treat you, If they don't hand you the money, You don't hand them the money, If they Throw the money down on the counter, You Throw the money down on the Counter. I have people almost say something about it, But they realized they did the same thing
@@nectarina3891 Thanks! I firmly believe that if you empower your staff as if they are all managers, they will act accordingly. I allow them to be the final word on most issues with customers, and they handle any issues as they see fit. They know their role best, so they shouldn’t need me to come and moderate. That’s how I was brought up in this industry, so that’s what I strive to instill in my staff. I also roll with notion that the restaurant or bar that we’re working in is our house and we’re throwing a party. It’s our rules or you’re hitting the streets. You don’t go to a party at someone’s house and start demanding they change the music or serve different food, and you don’t complain about how long it’s taking someone to go on a beer run.
@@mrsynapse I do this all the time.. If they say something about it I say " you didn't hand it to me so I didn't hand it to you. Covid made everything different and I've adapted to no contact. I was trying to respect your lead" they really have nothing to say after that. Covid made doing things other people have always done so much easier to excuse. I've never handed money back to someone that literally threw money around at me.. If they ignore my hand I ignore theirs. And if I say " hi, how're you today" and they reply with " number two with mayo" I don't say another thing til their total. They ALWAYS forget to ask for a drink. So I let them pay, walk away and stand in line for a drink. Treating humans like humans and like you wanna be treated is the bare minimum yet, most of the population just can't seem to get it.
Aaron being full of a secret, hidden anger is a perfect character twist. I'd like to see this explored further, perhaps with a "real-life" rude guest.

Oh sweetie believe me it's realistic! PAINFULLY SO! I was a bus girl, a bartender AND a waitress on & over the course of 15 years in NY. I worked at local bars, restaurants, catering halls, and also for a private party service. Trust me everything you see here is the truth. AS a matter of fact, when it comes to some of the customers because of the fact that it's on YT. The language that's used by some out in the real world is pulled back off of this channel. That is because (I believe) he's nice enough to run a relatively clean channel. You would be surprised, or maybe you wouldn't about how rude people can truly be at times. I can honestly say that no reality about 10% of the population are the rudest people you ever want to meet, and they're like that most of their lives. But the other 90% are we there better than average or great. 😉
Drew and his wife are literally writing, acting, producing and directing (probably editing too) for what’s basically their own sitcom. It’s amazing. And the only reason I hope Disney or someone doesn’t offer jobs and a truckload of money to Drew and Andrea is Bistro Huddy is beautiful and funny and smart and I WANT MORE! (They deserve the truckload of money)

Although it’s many years since college and my days as a server back in Houston but I had the Nicole conversation in my head as I walked away so many times! These days, I work in banking and I still have it!

I'm team Nicole on this one. Society would improve so much (over time and after the initial shock) if disrespectful behavior wasn't tolerated. Sure, some customers will take their money elsewhere but if all businesses adapted this then those people would have nowhere to go and no choice but to clean up their act.

I bet he was in improv club... I used to go to Improv club in high school and almost all the kids who had joined were unnervingly talented except for me . They made up funny skits out of their head acted like masters and could switch characters in seconds.. they were good at the beginning of the year but almost masters by the end .. with more polish as adults they could all have been masterful actors ..
