    FAIR USE**
    Copyright Disclaimer under section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for “fair use” for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, education and research.
    Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing.
    Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use.
    FAIR USE DEFINITION:
    (Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use)
    Fair use is a doctrine in the United States copyright law that allows limited use of copyrighted material without requiring permission from the rights holders, such as for commentary, criticism, news reporting, research, teaching or scholarship. It provides for the legal, non-licensed citation or incorporation of copyrighted material in another author’s work under a four-factor balancing test. The term “fair use” originated in the United States. A similar principle, fair dealing, exists in some other common law jurisdictions. Civil law jurisdictions have other limitations and exceptions to copyright.
    U.S. COPYRIGHT OFFICE- FAIR USE DEFINITION
    (Source: www.copyright.gov/fls/fl102.html)
    One of the rights accorded to the owner of copyright is the right to reproduce or to authorize others to reproduce the work in copies or phonorecords. This right is subject to certain limitations found in sections 107 through 118 of the copyright law (title 17, U.S. Code). One of the more important limitations is the doctrine of “fair use”. The doctrine of fair use has developed through a substantial number of court decisions over the years and has been codified in section 107 of the copyright law.
    Section 107 contains a list of the various purposes for which the reproduction of a particular work may be considered fair, such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research.

      NO I AM NOT A POLICE OFFICER.

    • @SuSpInTiOn
      @SuSpInTiOn Před 6 měsíci +3

      Why don't Auditors do a FOIA request to the officers who won't identify, I'm not talking about later but you're supposed to be able to receive records immediately if they're available from the Custodian of those records, well Officers have their names available so simply write down on a piece of paper or orally if your state allows, and if they refuse said FOIA request for the records aka their names, they're in Violation of FOIA and can be prosecuted, right? Is there something I'm missing, Direct D you push the boundaries a lot of times so I'd love to see you pull this off since you're confident in your request to get names and badge numbers, for those officers who attempt to remain anonymous even though they're paid by taxpayers then they're Violating FOIA, right? Even if they don't respond immediately, if you give them a paper with your email and don't send it within 10 business days then bam, or am I missing something, D? Any Public Servant who attempts to remain anonymous even though they're getting paid on the taxpayers dime is either ashamed of their actions or know they're committing crimes and don't want to be held accountable, why else would they take taxpayer funds but treat said taxpayers like the enemy? Unless they have nefarious intentions, they should be honored to share their information, or they know they've hurt a ton of people and don't want their victims to be able to Redress their grievances, I can't think of another reason why Public Servants would cower in fear just because they're asked their information.. Thanks and keep up the great work D!

      That is the only reason we are allowing it. If more people would stand up and and fight back, their attitudes would change. And fighting back means whatever means Are necessary to do so whether it's with An attorney or a firearm, whatever whatever it takes to get their attitudes on the same page that we are. Citizens of the United States and we have rights. That's what it's gonna take the change. I prefer the firearm process. It used to bother me when I would see a funeral procession with 200 cops. BWC and dash cams should not have an off button. no mute either.
    and all videos should be immediately uploaded to a public database, where judges review them before even talking about bail and the citizens can see them just as quickly.
    i would support having a button right on the camera for recommending a blurring of the video or parts of it before release. in private residences, dealing with minors, nudity, victims.
    it should still record in full clarity, just allow tagging of the video as having sensitive material that should be reviewed before being publicly accessible.

    My uncle was an auditor for his state that audited county Sheriff depts. When the departments recieved new vehicles, those were required to used by deputies out on the duty. The first thing he would look at was if the Sheriff's car was new or older. That would determine how long he spent examing the books.
