At first glance this may seem like an extreme sport, but the more you learn about this amazing way to fly, the more you will realize it is about peacefully soaring like a bird. A trike is motorcycle like in the way it carves through the turns while experiencing something with amazing open air visibility.
So who flies trikes? To name a few, we have: Doctors, lawyers, engineers, police officers, school teachers and retirees flying these. But we also have Great grandmothers, Ministers, little people, paraplegics and teenagers enjoying our wonderful sport and just about everyone in between.
If your friends or family think you are crazy for wanting to fly like a bird, rest assured, you are of sound mind with a natural human desire to experience flight in what we feel is the BEST TOY ON EARTH.

The Evolution trikes definitely fit a specific niche in the American flying market. I still feel there is a second niche for the lighter side.

Hi Allan, good to see you in the comments again. They are well engineered but quite a bit outside my budget and unfortunately the bigger ones aren't certified for the UK market.

That was a really good interview, Giles. Larry is whom I started following for flexwing flying as you were still flying paramotor. Larry and Amy are both very knowledgeable, and extremely accomplished, pilots. If I decide to resume flying , I will go to them for flexwing training.After that, if anyone observes me flying in the style of Larry, which is phenomenal, they can rest assured I am having a seizure! I never did, and never will, have the skills Larry possesses. Looking forward to your next Fun 'n Sun vlog.
It was great to meet them and learn about their journeys over the week I was there as well.

Would have loved to see the Nine Trike sitting beside the Rev for size comparison.
Though I'm Canadian, we take a lot of our cues from our American friends for sizing things. I think I'm saving up for a Rev with the 12UL.

The NiNE is much smaller in stature but they are designed for different needs.
Blimey the scale of those trikes is just amazing. The Revolt is almost comically huge! Great to see stuff that is completely different to what we fly in the UK. Great stuff - keep 'em coming! 🙂

I see advantages and disadvantages in both Larry’s trikes and Ben’s trikes. At times I like floating down the road in a Buick Electra 225, at other times I might like zooming through the curves in an MG TD. ( I own neither).
@@tomcoryell Agreed. I have a PeaBee but wouldn't it be good to be able to choose which of the two to fly, depending on the mood?...🤔🤣

@@GolfFoxtrot22 that’s gross weight. The REVOLT dry weight without a chute but with all other options is 276kg. We also have a heavy hauler wing, the 17mX which has a 554kg gross.

Great range review I did look at their craft some time back and wondered what would be thought of them in the UK.
Hi Algy, I have thought about how they would be viewed against the BCAR S approval process for UK certification. I'm sure there is a market.
Good interview and nice round up of the machines. Would love to know his thoughts on the Nine's hang block ("what, that iddy bitty piece of plastic!"🤣)
The hang blocks are in different leagues but the NiNE's is steel where the Revolts is Aluminium.
Would love to have a crack at that rev xs!!

Those trikes look so nice, especially the Revolt. Are they not sold in the UK due to weight? Or is it cost and logistics of importing them? I find the look of an “extreme” adventure trike very appealing.
Hi Mike, there is probably a bit of weight and certification. All UK Aircraft need to meet a standard called BCAR section 10S. It takes a lot of money to get it through as well. It's why we don't have many aircraft types in the microlight category.
G22 I think you would enjoy living in Florida next door to Larry and Amy . With electric powerplants becoming a reality in the next couple of years flexwing flying will explode I think.
Flexwing flying is starting to increase for sure. I'm not hearing much about battery technology though and that is the stumbling block at the moment.

Yes you could say that. You'll have to come over next year and see them up close for yourself.
I personally still prefer and love the Flylight machines. There's something more stylish about them.
Those big wheeled solid framed trikes with suspension would give confidence for Camp-an-fly outback touring.
Is there 115Kg equal to our 70Kg unlicensed Nano lite? Did I get this right or is it the licensed ultralight?
Hi Blue, the Red and Yellow one we the Polini 303 on the back is their Part 103 licence free machine. Definitely outback Tyree 👍🏻😁.
I prefer revolt, because I watch the channel Larson Adventures on CZcams and their flights are really cool.

I'm Brazilian and I live in Brazil, but I have a son who lives in Orlando FL and when I visit him I would like to visit your Trike company.
They do like their flexwings in Brazil.

I prefer to stay away from over-simplified labels of Americans in general or Ultralight flyers found in the content. The idea that all Americans think that "Bigger is Better!" Is an over-generalized slogan. A slogan straight from the 1970s auto industry that didn't see the winds of change from overseas. There's a risk to sticking to status quo thinking and business models even in Ultralight industry. Sticky to a safe model of this is what worked for us has short term sells and seems easier to continue, but short-sighted. Here's my prediction for US Ultralights and beyond the pond Microlights... The Future: Found in creative, smaller, lighter and innovative products. I suspect if you offer products like The Nine or The Electric Ego Trike, the flyers/customers will follow and flow! Hi JT, its really interesting hearing your comments. I've always been a fan of the minimalist look of the machines I fly. I suppose its also because I really can't afford the bigger machines or the running costs of keeping a 912 in the air.
