A new Ferrari to fuel the Wizard's yacht, and furnish his new mansion. Did I mention I'm selling $5 keychains? Have you bought one yet??? hooviesgarage.com/collections/frontpage/products/hoovies-garage-keychain
Wait, he bought a mansion?!
I hear that the Wizard has just ordered a Gulfstream 650 as well as an oligarch's seized yacht!
I wanted a $5 sticker but $4+ for mailing it to me I said F that!
No, not buying a key chain, they say you're not supposed to enable people's mental illnesses lolol
Can I really cut up a household air filter and use that was a cabin air filter??
I know people give him a lot of crap for getting too expensive but this is an awesome purchase. can't wait to see the 80k bill from wizard lmaoo
I say he's out the door for $8k.
@@user-od9iz9cv1w $12.000 to fix the issues. $25.000 to get a good resell vallue. Back to mint won't be worth it, and yes that would easely be $80.000. I don't think that would be enough.
Unless there’s an issue with any part of the drive train, this is a 5k bill max. All the obvious issues are actually minor. People really don’t realize that starting with 430, these cars are actually really solid. The most common reasons they break is when they sit. If they’re driven regularly and have basic services done, they’re just like any other car these days.
@@ForcesNL its a 458 not a bugatti
Just use it as an Italian beater. There are Ferrari certified used (mint) cars for purists.
I kinda admire the previous owner with his Home mods, He probably bought this car for dirt cheap fixed it up, enjoyed the hell out of it, sold it and got his moneys worth outta it
It was probably a Copart rebuild.
I'd totally do something like that ceramic brake delete. Keep them for resale, but use something sensible for daily use.
@@Fay7666 keeping for resale but removing for dailying. I was against ceramic brakes in daily cars before but they can last a lifetime of a daily car and don’t get the wheels as dirty
Whats dirt cheap for a 458? What do you think the previous owner might have paid?
Sounds like me!
Fucked up 7 cars like this and sold with a bit profit! 😜💪🏻🤣
The previous owner did not rig the pull string for the glove box, it is the manual glove box release from the factory and has been included on Ferraris for several generations goping back at least to the F430 and probably before that as well.
Yep there are emergency releases for EVERYTHING in a Ferrari. They don’t even try to hide that stupid string…I photograph cars at a dealership for a living and they’re constantly visible in my pictures lol
Glad you posted this or I would
A 458 is my genuine “money no object” car. Practical enough to drive daily, fast enough for anyone, and the best looking modern Ferrari.
Alas in my homeland of australia you could wrap one of these around a pole and still sell the wreck for $200k
458 specials Is the dream I think it’s obtainable in 10 years. Alas in my native New Zealand a wreck would be 300k
You just know that whenever Hoovie buys such a good car on paper, it is completely screwed underneath
The fact that he got a working one for under 100k though is honestly amazing if he sorts it out it will continue to go up and he can definitely sell it for more and make some good content :)
The exception to that rule is his 928. It is going to turn out trouble free.
Next video: EVERYTHING WRONG WITH MY 458 (It's bad)
I think you’re jealous
It's missing some covers and other shit.
I know people get mad when hoovie buys nice cars, but honestly I’m so happy he has one of these cars. It’s great to see someone just live out their dream and own these incredible cars
And thankfully he will not put a widebody kit on it. Makes me crazy to see Strad man cut the fenders off these and screw in some junk.
@@user-od9iz9cv1w ya honestly if he removes everything apart from the gold wheels (a factory option) that car would look stunning. Honestly the salvage title wouldn’t worry me because he said it’s got 16k miles put on it after the accident
@tripel7 yea all the time lmao I don’t understand it.
I’d definitely rather watch a real human without a script give their own opinions and facts about the car instead of just glorifying owning exotic cars like so many others do. Hoovie is one of the best
Agree. Well earned and will be enjoyed and brought back to its glory. Everyone involved wins, especially the mechanic 😅
Love the fact that there is also some people owning super cars, doing their homework on what parts fit or are possible to made fit and saving tons of money in the progress. Always think outside of the OEM box.
I love how Hoovie keeps marveling at fact that a $250,000 car made it to 80,000 miles...
Well, it is kind of amazing if you think about it. How many times has that car been at the 9,000 RPM redline? A Ferrari is driven HARD, and that's MOST of the time.
@@georgespalding7640 ohh I thought they stayed in garages like artwork…
@@georgespalding7640 my honda revs to 8100 rpm and it has 253,000 miles. other models will do 9k with similar reliability.
@@araybeezy1653 Lemme preface by saying I love Honda. Hondas and Toyotas are built like tanks and literally survive warzones.
But does your Honda have 8 cylinders?
Ferraris are also babied and garage kept, all depends on the owner
I must say, this definitely seems like a good deal and a car worth fixing and owning. That thing is amazing looking. The powered hardtop that looks good in either position is a huge plus. If I were to own this the salvage title and high miles would almost be a plus since I would never feel bad about driving it and putting miles on it. I would never buy a salvage title car...except this one. Really nice find.
You’re crazy if you’d never buy a salvage title vehicle but would buy a salvage Ferrari.
On these price point cars, it can take surprisingly little to be totaled.
My daily is a Mazda3 with a Salvage title. Bought it back in 2019 when it was only two years old and paid significantly less than I would have otherwise. I regret nothing. The only issue could be resale. But if you plan to drive it into the ground who cares? Lol
@@RSNitsua I’ve owned a salvage titled car. One big plus in my case is that I knew the guy who did the repairs, all the body work, and painted it. He had been doing this kind of work for over 30 years so he knew what he was doing. The car drove good as new, everything worked and I paid well below what a non salvaged car would’ve cost. I’d like to find another deal like that one.
@@cl7510 it’s worth it if you want a good deal and the car doesn’t have a bent frame. I got mine through a friend who does this for a living and I was confident in his skills and knew he was honest with me. Like buying any car you should always do your homework.
3 ferrari, 3 Lambo 3 Porsche 911 and a merc sls, you've come along way Tyler. Good for you.
4 Ferrari (348, 355, 456, 458) and also don’t forget the Z8 and the rare vintage cars
The 928 tops them all
who the hell needs that many cars? I've owned a dozen cars and you can't even keep them in running condition so they collect dust in storage. Let somebody else enjoy them. It's about more than money. It's being a pig.
@East or West Who did he sell it to?
@@Speednote10 To the car wizard to perform witchcraft repairs on cars that should be headed to the scrapper. Too bad rustritis aint fixable lmao.
Whenever I get the urge to buy a really "cheap" Sports car, I just tune in to the latest Hoovie episode. "You get what you pay for" always seems to apply...
I loved seeing that accidental "comparison of reliability to value ratio" at 5:48. Seriously though, Buick 3800s might actually last decades on like $27.36 in parts, whereas pretty much any exotic is a thousand-fold at a minimum to reach a lease return's mileage. After watching this video and seeing that a Ferrari was driven (a lot) and exceed mid-double digits on the odometer, I'm quite impressed!
Passing 100k miles is not impressive reliability. I think some part of the taking care of the precious baby plays into why some people like these cars and that they are a status symbol.
458 is one of the all time greats. Naturally aspirated, bite-the-back-of-your-hand good looks and the fact that this one is in traditional colors is a mouth-watering combo
It's my dream car
traditional colours on a ferrari is so boring
i would of gotten cream interiour with rosso fiorano i think
A beautiful car to drive. Amazing engine and very well balanced with huge grip. Doesnt understeer like the 4wd lambos as well👍
@@a-12dhanwinmehta40 As a 458 owner myself I can tell you that was NOT a smart decision. 85,000 miles is the kiss of death right there. The fact that it was salvaged is the icing of the cake. Selling that will be an incredible nightmare. The guy who sold it made the sale of the year in my opinion.
Hoovie: It's all because of you watching that I have this car.
Us: Don't you dare blame us for buying that.
DOH! lol
Exactly what I was thinking
What an absolute steal of a deal. I'm sure the fact that the previous owners drove it hard have kept the engine in good shape, as opposed to a garage queen that just rots away :-)
I've been getting tired of seeing all these exotics and not some regular cars, but this is an awesome buy. Definitely stands out from the others he's bought recently.
This man is living his dream on CZcams it easily could have gone the other way around after he lost his dealership but you're looking at someone who never gave up and has an awesome audience on CZcams. Plus having a professional business relationship with a mechanic like The Car Wizard doesn't hurt either 🙂 👌
His father investing in fast food franchises help insure his success.
458 under six figures is such a hoovie car, a spyder too! This is an incredible buy, it'll get SUPER EXPENSIVE but I cant wait to see what happens to it!
Imagine paying a bunch of money for one of these new and it has worse buttons and switches than a 30 year old Corolla 🤣
the brake swap was a great idea... no one need carbon brakes on the street..
Exactly, id do it. Why spend way more than what you need
It's actually for racing that carbon ceramics *really* make no sense because of cost. On the road you at least have longevity (they don't rust), and modern ones are far better from cold than the early ones used to be. Whether they are cost effective or not is still debatable.
@@ArKritz84 Don't need them at all. Certainly not for public roads
@@ArKritz84 complete opposite
I agree. You can tell someone put some thought into the maint on this car!
I won't lie, considering the miles and condition that subwoofer is perfectly fine in my opinion. At least it's color matched lolll. The value is going up probably because it's the last N/A, last 9k redline of their main lineup (I believe),the reliability and still being very fast and powerful. I'm willing to bet it is one if the best modern track Ferrari's too because it's so accessible being N/A. The turbo shove of most modern supercars may be difficult to handle on track, these N/A cars you can just lay on them and they just sing. Similar to the modern Porsche GT3, Gt350, etc.
Solid buy. I love how most the videos in your “I bought the cheapest” series always are followed up by how expensive it is to fix.
I love the sound of the triple exhaust, I even love that “special” sound it made at the end.
Tyler is going full David Lee in a budget
Honestly in that config more like 80s David Lee Roth. If the seats need to be reupholstered please do leopard print Hoovie lmao
Hoovie is way cooler
wouldnt we all lol
Can't wait to see the Wizard's eyes light up with glee when he sees you roll this in for the repairs. He has a vacation home to buy, you know!
HOOVIE!!!!!!! I greatly appreciate your channel brother. Thanks for bringing us exciting content but also etching us many lessons along the way. Wishing you nothing but the best!
For a street car, which 99% of these are, I think ditching the carbon ceramic brakes is a great idea for someone who really drives their car.
Why? They never wear out.
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH they also don't work before as effectively before you get them up to temp I don't think, and if you're not racing you're not going to see your brakes fading anyway
No - the carbon ceramic brakes are Awesome - from cold - and should last forever anyway
This has to be the best-looking sub $100k "modern" Ferrari! (regardless of its condition)
@porsche 928s just no. The headlights on the 360 are absolutely hideous and every other part of the car looks worse than the 458. The 458 is the absolute pinnacle of modern production ferrari design.
@@rubenlay610 I agree, not a fan of 360 headlights. They give me 996 vibes.
@@rubenlay610 the 360 is beautiful (biased) and one of the Ferraris that will only get better as it ages. With that said, I drove a 458 once and it was absolutely amazing and I would love to own one if the prices ever come down.
@porsche 928s definitely an age thing. I love everything from the 90s and early 2000s but that’s probably because I’m old, lol.
@porsche 928s same. My E30 honestly gets a ton of positive attention, almost as much as the Ferrari. The best part is that it is always from car people and not just people who know what a Ferrari is (everyone).
Hoovie, you're a maniac and we love you for it
Oh man I was fkn DYING from that intro, the music drop, lined up with a plethora of issues, perfect editing!
Love Love Love the new Hooptie! Never thought such a nice specimen would make it onto your channel!
Hoovie, I have never gasped so much in one video. The spec, the interior, THE SOUND! My god, I am so in love right now. I am so happy for you! Can't wait to see more videos with the car.
Look forward to seeing what the car wizard says. Looks like it's a pretty well sorted car.
Crackin' content as always Tyler !!
Love this channel. You always have some awesome cars ☺️ you do a great job trying to keep them alive.
This is my favorite Tyler Hooptie yet! I have loved the 458 Spyder since day one, these are the pinnacle of Ferrari design in my opinion. I had the electric blue one as a screen saver for years. Good Job Hoovie! Can't wait to see it all fixed and in the garage. I'm sure those seats have been farted on by worse than Video Bob over the years, lucky they're refinished!
I have loved this car ever since I first saw it on Top Gear…. Makes me feel old to see it as a Hooptie…
I can remember Jezza having fun showing picture after picture of burning Italias to Hamster and Slow. 😁
@@danielseelye6005 and it even looked good on fire😆
I have a hard time considering the F355 old, let alone any of the non-engine-out mid-engined V8 Ferraris...
this might be one of the best looking and driving cars ever made. I drove it for short drive in Italy and paid lot of money for it like $200 I think or so, but then it drove and turned like razor blade.
Hoopties are hoopties, I like that you mix them up. New and old, supercars and obscure clunkers. Keep it up!
The 458 looks great, and now with naturally aspirated drivers seat 😂
*Expirated
ASSpirated leather seat,,,just like mom used to make! LOL
Idk sounded like forced induction to me!
I love how Bob rolled the window down while it was top down LOL
Hopefully it wasn't another accident.
Just adds to the excellence of this channel!
Video Bob is awesome. That outtake had me literally laughing out loud.
This is the most FANTASTIC Hooptie EVER ! ! Sans the one in the Sir Mix-A-Lot song...
Next episode, "My 458 needs a new clutch and is now rattling like a can full of rocks." Great seeing you enjoy the car, good buy for one who wants a driver and not a garage queen.
I appreciate the content you make man. Please keep up your fantastically weird personality and intriguing uploads!
But please stop molesting Collies. It’s tragic.

Arguably, one of the saddest things about all cars (eventually) going electric is that there will never again be an exhaust sound like this in the future. There is something intoxicating about the noise this 458 makes when pushed hard. Likewise for a Hellcat, GT 500, Lamborghini, etc. No amount of computer technology will be able to create artificial sound to match that....😢

Not that I'm interested in buying a used $100k car anytime soon, its incredibly interesting to see what you can get for $100k. Nice one!
Those sound amazing in person. Guy in my area has one. Never really cared to own a ferrari (not that I ever could), but I like this model in particular.
Awesome ending...video Bob marking his territory!
First off... that's a great spec 458 !!! Great deal !!! Second, the Italian clip and Video Bob ripping one, is absolutely hilarious !!! Great work !!!
I suspect the Car Wizard may be doing some more ‘nautical’ upgrades on his yacht. Marine electronics can get mighty expensive. Thanks for the video.
All jokes aside the car looks spectacular. fantastic purchase! By far your best looking Ferrari even with the gold wheels in fact they give it the flare
That is a sweet ride Hoovie!!!! Engine running…not probably catch on fire…no leaks or parts falling off would actually be a bargain Ferrari!!!! Love the hoopties!!!!!!!
Congrats!!!! This was a big score!!!! Drive this to infinity!!!! Don't let anyone else drive it.

I honestly would do the same hooptie modifications, as long as the ride is awesome and drive is good, who cares if your not using super expensive brakes, or if the carbon fiber trim that you put in is fake, hell most of the people that would look at this car wouldn't even know.
Right? Even the painted gold wheels work.

As far as breaks go, I honestly think it was an upgrade swapping the Ferrari breaks for Brembos from a GTR and an STI. Probably more reliable and effective for being cheaper
