    Guitar aside, looks like it's time for a new bandsaw blade. Lol. Those burn marks on the plug are from a blade going dull. It's still sharp enough to cut but dull enough to slow down and cause friction burns. Not trying to be a backseat maker, just want to add an explanation in case anyone was curious :D

    I just put a push-push single vol pot in m custom guitar, which switches between a very high output bridge and a hotrail in the neck where the coils are connected in parallel (gives you a hot noisless singlecoil sound). I like hotrails in the neck placed very close to the neck so it does not create a visual barrier for my picking, I do not hit neck pickups with my pick, but somehow it is disturbing to me to have a pickup in my picking territory, that is why no middle pickup for me.

    Awesome paint job!!! Might be the best so far. I just had one come out great and it is my favorite paint job now. Sometimes you get lucky, and sometimes you have to re-do it because the concept did not work out. I like single pickup guitars, but don't own one. I like the sound of the middle position too much. Using a Duncan George Lynch with a Pre-amp / Duncan BMP-1 is one of my favorite setups. Match with a Duncan SDL-1N - Neck pickup. Sounds amazing. You can get pinch harmonics in really good spots when using both together. And the single size neck pickup gives you more real estate on body for the paint job. Rock On Mark!!!

    Concerning having just the bridge pickup and a single volume knob: While I do mostly use a single humbucker in the bridge position, I do sometimes use the neck pickup for either clean tones or if I'm playing on the first three strings past the 12th fret so I don't hurt my ears. As for the Tone knob, I don't really use it unless the pickups in the guitar have the "coil-split" feature, although it'd be nice if that was just a single toggle switch instead. Thank you so much for the content. Guitar's looking KILLER! Keep up the excellent work, sir!

    Great result here, good work. I would make only one recommendation: polishing the frets, I polished the frets on my guitar a couple months ago and I used a dremel with felt wheel and some flitz polish. They came out looking like mirrors and will now be the only way I finish off frets that need some life breathed into them. Strings move effortlessly over them.

  • @1337million
    @1337million Před 2 lety

    6:55 I have one guitar with two hums and one volume + switch. I find myself missing the tone knob actually, even if it's rarely used. My old Epiphones, a Flying V and an Explorer, are perfect for me. Three-way toggle, two volumes and a master tone. I can roll off the neck pickup volume and basically have a killswitch. Or if I just turn the volume down a little the neck pickup can serve as a clean channel in a pinch if there's not too much gain! The tone knob does see some use for solos or clean rhythms because sometimes you just have to... tone it down!

    a drumell would make that front polish in a hell of a lot easier than going different grits of sandpaper I mean most dremels even come with a polishing compound for aluminum or stainless steel you need to get a drumell is save you so much time and the other things that you can do with it is just a bonus but it'll guarantee making your fret polishing so much simpler it probably pay for itself in the build that you're doing so you can just add that in as part of the cost and get yourself a free tool but even if you have to buy it they're not that expensive anyways love your videos you take care and have a great day

    Very nice. I don't mind one pickup. It's like what EVH said--you're able to dig into the strings more without that neck pickup in the way & you can get harmonics from that that you can't get from a guitar with a neck pickup. Although, I really like the tone knob; I don't use it all the time, but it's something I like to fidget with more than most homies. Also, anyone know of any crackle paints that aren't black or white?
