For the v refinish, I think a glow in the dark with either gloss black or gloss white (since the glow base is a slightly off white color) splatter would be neat
For that V refinish - go satin purple with gold hardware! Thrown some gold covered EMGs in there and maybe mod up a Floyd Rose with some FU Tone stuff! Make it a classy shred machine!
For the arrow refinish: a white base coat, and quick mistings of deep teal and seafoam green all over. Then some light blood splatters with the seafoam green and teal, white EMG's, chrome hardware, and a blue LED killswitch!
If you just paint your glove you have a lot more control with your splatter and just flick it with your hands. You can let it pool up in your palm for your bigger splashes.
For the V, I have always had the sic burst idea. I call it a Nova burst where it is a pink turn purple ish pink turned a dark purple with black burst edges and a white splatter that resembles stars.

Lol thanks to a crappy lutheir charging me $250 to set up my ec 1000 very poorly, and youtube and the internet, I've been setting up, and modding my own stuff for a few years. Making money doing something I'm very passionate about. Working on, and suping up guitars is the most fun thing to do ever. It would be awesome to earn a living doing it. For the sick V Paint it a nice bright red. Then spray bottle water drops on it. Then from an angle hit it with alot of black. From another angle hit it with a little silver. I did this to my xbox one and a few different controllers in different colors. It looks pretty cool. Something to consider. My girlfriend told me to paint one of my guitars like that because it was my thing lol.
Hey Mark, I just want to say congratulations on the season finale of season 3 everything about it was awesome the guitar looks great, and it sounds incredible, and I just want to say that every time I see an episode I really wish I was able to do what you do for a living I think that would be extremely cool I'm really looking forward to season four in May I appreciate guitar guts immensely, and I'm 1000% sure I'm not the only one who does, thank you very much to you guys at guitar guts for every modification rebuild and contest guitar guts has done and will hopefully continue to do, your older guitar with the black with red splatter paint job reminded me of something, when I was around 9 or 10 years old my grandmother bought me a little practice acoustic guitar from Toys R Us I loved that guitar I practiced on it every chance I could and one day I asked my dad if he could paint it black and red with a silver lightning bolt going down the front of the guitar, and he did, and it looked awesome exactly how I pictured it in my mind complete with black and red clouds until one day a few years later I came home from school I finish my homework, and I was always excited to practice, and I looked at my guitar, and it had a new paint job on it and I guess while I was still at school he came home from work early and repainted it, and although the new paint job looked like a blue Ace Frehley sparkle top Les Paul which looked pretty cool I was still really disappointed that he repainted it and just when I got used to that paint job he did it once more this time he painted it gold sparkle and named it Porter because I'm a left-handed player and that was the last time I saw it I wish I still had it I moved out of my dad's house because of differences we've always had especially after my grandmother passed away I asked him if I could take the guitar with me to which he said no, so guitar player to guitar player and friend to friend don't forget that with each guitar you guys work on you're literally building a playable memory and on behalf of everyone you've done and will hopefully continue to do builds for I just want to say thank you very very much for what guitar guts does, take care of yourselves and here's to season 4 in May, rock on my friends!!! 💜💚🖤🤘
For the Arrow esp i would refinish it with gloss black and yellow stripes like the alexi RR Jackson, with two emg 81-85 or maybe a kirk hammet pick-up set
i'd sand down the back of the neck, showing the natural wood, throw some clear on the back, then i'd do the lexi yellow and black, either the bevels yellow or the bevels black. some fu tone upgrades and of course the ks in yellow. that bee would sting
I've always wanted to do an LTD Arrow in matte military green with that WW2 Plane era shark paint on the larger horn with a relicing done to the guitar.
As usual, you never cease to amaze me with your mods. Another job well done! In terms of the LTD Arrow you picked up, I'm curious if there's a way to pull off a "textured bronze" look. Kind of similar to the high end ESP Guitars, but instead just having it be your own take on it. I remember trying to paint a Squire Strat gold by first painting red and then painting gold for a warm look, but I didn't wait for the paint dry and it left a weird texture that actually worked with the gold color. Maybe do something like that on the Arrow? Obviously, you HAVE to add a killswitch, but here's another addition you can do: the 24 Volt Mod. It's made in Texas by 24 Volt Mod (yes, that's the company name). To keep it brief, most modern active pickups can handle up to 24 Volts in the pre-amp of the pickups and as a result of the mod (which you just connect like a normal 9 Volt battery) you gain more output, more clarity, and even some dynamics! I've got this equipped on a couple of my guitars and since that Arrow is stock with those EMG actives, I say try it out. You almost don't need an overdrive pedal after that modification! The way that palm tree's shadow was with that shade of blue behind it looked amazing, you should absolutely try to replicate that exact look on a guitar!!!
I always wanted to see a v shaped guitar with a dark wood colored burst then with F and G hole insignias beveled in. Sort of like a classical looking instrument. Then some blood splatter over the top. "Bloody maestro" as I'd call it.

As for modding the Arrow, i'd put in Fishman Fluence pickups. I'd swap out the black hardware for blackened chrome as i find that more my style, or is it called smoked chrome now? I'd sand down the laquer, as well as the finish and replcae it with a rusted finish instead (Warwick Robert trujillo streamer bass) i'd definetly wanted an killswitch but instead of the typical Iron Age one i've seen you use, i'd actually put in an arcade type switch in red as i grew up with buckethead.. And last but not least i'd put a small decal of the Halo 3 logo between the pickups harkening back to my teens
The V…. I was visualizing an old bible page color white / cream. Not worn customs on heavy playing spots but older. Give it like a holy war vibe or post apocalypse. Match the headstock, have the kill switch with a red / amber LED in there. Brass / bronze looking hardware. Throw some SDBO in there with a matching custom finish. Eh?

White Metallic (with BIG flakes or make your own with big Bronce flakes) highgloss with a Black racing stripe which comes from the neck to the bottom and fully BRONCE Hardhare. Slap in some DiMarzio Crunch Lab and LiquiFire just cause EMG all the time gets boring. Nothing more. No FL, make it simple.
This Arrow would look great with black/dark purple finish. Like Black Andromeda which is black/blue. With this purple finish should come EMG ALX bridge pickup and a kill switch with a purple LED. Children of Bodom kinda vibe. That would be sick. Floyd rose obligatory!

Wondering what I should do with it after the pickups died and some corrosion from being shelved since 09’ after I left the band I was in. For the v, you could do a purple sparkle finish all over the guitar, emg 81 60x pickups(maybe with the 24 volt mod) , obviously a killswitch, black hardware and grover tuners. It would be kinda kirk hammetts sparkle kh2 but on a V. Hopefully this is used👍

I do have a question, did you not clear over the splatter? Or did I miss that part in the video? Do people like textured feel on guitars? I personally like super smooth finishes, but that's just me.

How about you refinish it into a white guitar with black crackle with EMG 81 in the bridge and 60 in the neck then it will start to look like an And Justice For All guitar, and then a Floyd rose original with noisless FU-tone springs a brass FU-tone block and to really make it interesting how about you try to make it a set neck kind of like the Jim Atkins (Jimmy Eat World) tele signature that would be a real challenge and if you do it right it will be a ShredMonster!!!!.

If I recall correctly, LTD used basswood or alder (more sure it's the first one) for bodies with maple necks and rosewood boards.

I'd have you hack off the pointy corners and round them out. Making the body a bit shorter.

Just a tip! I recommend a step drill to enlarge holes, very frightull to do with a bradpoint drill :D
