Really like the hoodie, as soon as I saw it, I went to look in your description and boom there it was lol.... Can you make a video on it so we can further see what it looks like and how it looks on you!? Also, I'm your same exact measurements height and weight LoL... That is a "claw foot bathtub." I grew up with these in homes. I'm 60 years old. I'm a nurse and those slides are study slides in medical classes or labs. The fireplaces look too new and unused. Those 'beams' are columns. Those are slides that go into a projector. They are not poloroids.

We the viewers, want to see the houses; the kitchen, the bathrooms, bedrooms and details. You are starting to focus on items. Then, you start upstairs, instead of giving us a feel of what it was to arrive home and look around. What was to wake up there in the morning and go to the restroom. What felt like to be in the front door or look thru a window. We miss all that.

At 16:04 you walked past an Adobe Photoshop 5.0 box which came out in May of 1998, so they had to have been living in the house up to that point. What is interesting though is that there is a Resolve cleaning spray on the counter at 46:23 and from what I could find Resolve wasn't founded until 2011...Could it be someone who was just sleeping in the house after it was abandoned or maybe it wasn't abandoned until way later?

It truly breaks my heart to see such gorgeous architecture just sitting and forgotten! All these new homes will never be able to stand the test of time like these older ones do. So sad... really. Then people come and destroy, now we've got people looting and destroying our streets, our buildings and home... all for a reason they think gives them the permission to. NO!!! IT IS NOT YOUR RIGHT TO DESTROY! Peaceful protest would have said far more than this CRIME ON CRIME! THAT'S SHOWING YOUR BAD SIDE!

    • @sovereignroyalty1675
      @sovereignroyalty1675 Před 4 lety +7

Stunning architecture, and abandoned houses is not the same thing as looting and rioting going on in the streets at this present time. Do you know that the situation with george floyd happened again in france, aswell as four other reported murders. 1,500 deaths of police brutality in the uk. That is those that have been reported and not covered up. The Michigan official autopsy report proves my point.
This may be too much for your privileged sensibilities, l do apologise, but consider kaleif browder a 16 year old child put in reikers island high max security prison for 3 yrs (2 in isolation) on SUSPICION of a theft of a BACKPACK.
He was beaten, starved, VIOLATED!!! Two years after his release (his mother could not raise bail in time). His mother heard his body hit the side of the house as he hung himself. HE WAS INNOCENT!!!!
Imagine that for one moment if you possibly can... This is 400 yrs of agony you cant begin to imagine, case after case after case.
Martin Luther King stated 'riots are the language of the misunderstood'.
Furtermore rioting is NOT the way to go..but people are angry. If peaceful protests worked, would there have been the situation with george floyd?Remember Rodney King? Steven Lawrence was my generation.
We just need to spend our money with our own businesses (after we've clawed our way through broken glass to set them up, try going for a business loan if you're black or mixed race) we would get equality in months! not just lip service.
But you're right how uncivilized, of not quietly protesting for being slaughtered in the streets!
My sweetheart its so easy to judge when its not happening to you or your family, isn't it.
Please do not confuse two separate issues, I'm sure you didn't mean to value property over human life.

You are one of the very few I can watch without getting Cybersickness because you have a genuine appreciation of your finds. I do think you should become a writer with the imagination you have sometimes in the stories your making up as you go along discovering personal items or imagining yourself living in the homes when they were once loved and appreciated. Taking time to browse through the pictures and object, clothing, etc...helps to slow down the movement also and give my inner ear the chance to catch up. I was watching one person after yours in a really nice place, but he was so busy hunting the squatter in the house I had to stop it because I was green with motion sickness. Thank you again. The glass things with organs, tissues and what are called "whole mounts" of the aquatic animals (in the formal dining room) are microscope slides or just slides to those of us who make them. As I have a father who is very to electronics Ivan also tell that the small pictures in the white plastic holders are photographic slides. A projector is required to see them properly. Last of all the machine with the empty wheel mounted on it's left is a feel to feel tape player. A full feel is usually placed on the left and the tape from it is fed thru a magnetic reader and accumulates on an empty on the right, hence the name. I had to tell you. I just had to. And yes, Imake microscope slides every working day in a hospital.

Great Video! Very informative. Thank you! And those white handles on the knives in the dining room (37:36) are not ivory. It's called "Mother of Pearl" as I have several of those in my own collection. :-)

Realise this si 3 years old but we are slowly going through the older videos in no particular order, just as we find them.
the box thing at 14:41 is a reel to reel tape recorder/player. very popular in the 70's & 80's
the thing you thought was part of a heating system at 18:58 is a knitting machine. possibly a Brother (Jones & Brother originally) but could be a Toyota or Knitmaster.

I can tell how young you are. It is so cute and funny when you call the pics Polaroids. They are slides. Run through a slide machine and seen on a big screen or wall. The medical things you found are also called slides. Place under a microscope for viewing. If that said food and nutrition, and you found a book of Japanese symbols for plants, then I'm guessing there is a relationship between the 2. Maybe plant slides. Maybe someone did research in the medical field. Or research for farming.

I hear you on their youth. They make me feel pretty old sometimes, but they're such nice kids, and what they do makes me laugh sometimes, and always teaches me something about other cultures. I LOVE their videos, as well as AWE and EXPLOMO.

@@jjsmith8956 I havent seen any awe videos, I dont think. I do love Explomo!!! You are right about learning about the different cultures, but they are the nicest, most polite group of young men!!!! That guy that is usually in the forefront, (I'm drawing a blank on his name), is just such a caring and compassionate human being. He is so respectful. It embarrasses me, when I think about how so many Americans are nowadays. Our youth, for the most part, do not have nearly the amount of class Steve and the other guys do. I would love to do what they do. It would be a great way to make a living.

Wow!!! I just saw a Frank LloydWright book. He was an architecturer that built homes built into the landscape. He lived in North Alabama. You should research him Steve. Love and Peace always Kat

Frank Lloyd Wright did not live in Alabama. One of the houses he built was in Alabama called The Rosenbaum House.

That last room you visited in the cellar, was one hell of a huge 'wine cellar'. They really led a good life. The other secret doors were for the servants, as were the rooms on the third floor.

They were cleaned (scrubbed) regularly. So there wasn't soot and ashes in them.

Great exploration. Remember the early 2000's we had the 9/11 attack. I imagine a lot of people fled, depending on the date. It's good to know history at the time of abandonment. Like 2009, huge home losses all over the country from the bank collapse. The big Recession.
