True that. Football has lost its soul. It will never be the same again. I'm just happy and privileged that I had known that era. I can always go back in time to relive that period thanks to the time machine that is CZcams.

I use to love Arsenal v Man Utd games , as a neutral fan I was always entertained .
They always delivered great goals , skills and plenty of fouls & fights .
It was simply a superb aggressive passionate affair.
I always found myself routing for Arsenal though , don't know why.
This same fixture today is shit.

Arsenal from 1991 on were the biggest underachievers in the league-good number of them able to contribute to a title side in 1997/98 when they were years past their best. Says a lot about the culture at the club.

Think the problem was, Arsenal fell behind from 92 onwards, as there wasn't enough home-grown talent coming through, compared to late 80's, and the board and manager weren't willing to splash out and break strict wage structure on big-money signings. An example was Roy Keane in 1993: the minute he found out that Arsenal wouldn't offer him any more than what he was on at Forest, Keane wasn't interested (and rightly so) and Arsenal were out of the running to sign him very early on. It happened with so many other players, who went to United, Blackburn or Liverpool etc, as they could offer much better wages. Basically, Arsenal fell behind during early the Premier league years.
They still had great defence, and Ian Wright up front, but Midfield was terrible with zero creativity. Think only midfielder who was still at Arsenal from 1992 to 1998 onwards was Ray Parlour. Any creative players either fell out of favour, like Limpar, or had off field issues, like Merson.
A team with a great defence, a top goalscorer, but a poor midfield can work well in cup competitions, but doesn't work so well in a league campaign. The other problem was the whole team was way too reliant on Ian Wright scoring.
It only really started to change after Graham left. Arsenal fans had been crying out for a decent midfielder for years until Vieira arrived.

Won a trophy in Europe, which is something none of Wenger’s teams could do. I’d actually say Arsenal were bigger underachievers under Wenger, from 2001-2004 they were comfortably the best side in the world for me, and they failed to win the champions league when they should have done quite easily.

That gaol is so iconic! The cast on Eric’s arm, the players, Fergie’s reaction, Andy Gray and Martin Tyler. The PL and Sky Sports was just so much better then. In fact everything was ha.

25 years ago...doesn't seem that long...and even although the picture quality on this clip is awful, it still better than trying to stream a game using an internet app like bbciplayer. why did everything have to get soooooo fucking shite soooo fucking quick? everything is crap. if i could only show what i tried to watch using iplayer spurs v man utd to myself age 20 and say, by the way milton (not my real name) this is what the future will look like in 25 years time. i'd never have believed me. human devolution. digital crap. everything is fucking crap. go back. turn back now before it';s too late. you'll all be chasing your tails for ever more. if everything goes digital that means that a computer can decide whether or not you are entitled to do ...well anything, cause they'll be in control...of everything. we'll have lost. it basically means that whoever controls the computer, controls everybody. is this what you all want?
