I never thought I'll be having a crush on Dumbledore
Sorry but I am not interested
Albus Dumbledore 😒😒😒😒
Same 😬

Sucks he’s gay
“He’s the best teacher we’ve got.”
“Thanks, McLaggen.”
Cormac’s grandfather?
He looks pissed and happy at same time when he said that lol
@@timyang2996 yes, probably he is
Okay, but for real, how am I supposed to continue seeing Dumbledore as a grandfather figure/mentor when he’s being played by Jude Law? Goddamn.
Even Dumbledorewasonce young.
Well by the end of this film series, he will be 64 years old so you will be still be able to view him the same way.
Dude there is a like a 60 years of difference. He changed a lot during this time
more like a daddy figure sheeesh
Hes 46 here
Kingsley was right. You may not like him, but he’s got style. Had it even back then in his more younger years.
it was phineas nigellus who said it in the books
I absolutely love the Dumbledore and Grindelwald story line and the way these actors portray it is fantastic
IKR!,
Well.... We getting new Grindelwald now 😅
@@TvojaMAMA77 yeah It's Mads Mikkelsen, I'm curious of how Mads will play Grindelwald. Both Mads and johnny Depp have a unique way when it comes to give personality to their characters

What the hell? I was about to comment that for some reason lol
I PROTEST I PROTEST !

If you ever read the books you'd know Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movies is nothing like him in the book.
But this. This is what I imagine Dumbledore would be.
He’s got a dark past 🖤🖤🖤 and has secrets he’s taking to the grave
I appreciate how much he matched the Richard Harris portrayal of Dumbledore. He was the far superior Dumbledore in my opinion and Jude captured his inflections beautifully.
Couldn't agree more
He captured the book Dumbledore perfectly, both by looks and mannerisms (complete, utter calm, always.). Now Gambon did a good job and was funny to watch to, he captured the child like fascination of all things that Dumbledore had, BUT he was to emotional. Je got angry, upset etc, wich Book Dumbledore (and Harris') never did.
That beong said, it's usually best to allow actors to feel out and interpret their character themselves. Harris was calm and powerful in most of his performances (like Gladiator). Had Gambon tried to just copy Harris's portrayal, it probably would just have ended up as stale.
@@Mukation I agree as the book and movie portrayal of Dumbledore was very different but in terms of the movie I do think for the later ones a fierce Dumbledore was needed for the scenes. Both equally as magical though
@@nusrathhh nah the replacement dumbledore was terrible, complete opposite of the book's portrayal. The first actor was absolutely perfect
So agree with you!!!! Richard Harris was the best Dumbledore!!!!!
Such a masterpiece. Don't know why this movie is so underrated
The movie shares 2 protagonists instead of one and they have a storyline thats very confusing:Its about Credence,Grindelwald or Newt's journeys to find magical beasts.
In my opinion what I would love to see in the 3rd movie is a story that focuses only on Dumbledore with Newt as a sidekick
This movie is confusing. That’s why it’s rated so low.
I love ❤️ this film especially Grindelwald and Dumbledore’s love scenes
It introduced to many characters at once unlike harry potter.
0:42 - 0:45 omg he so sounds like dumbledore now
The Phoenix reference made me cry especially when he said it took flight when he died.
That always stood out to me

Dumbledore’s bond with Grindelwald 💙💙💙 is too strong
3:00 my fav scene, listen to how he put himself into the role and his voice broke
Holy Sh*t He's HOT
Albus needs more scenes in the next movie. The franchise needs to focus on him if it wants to get back on track. Fans don't exactly dislike Newt, but he's not carrying the series, either -- people just aren't that interested in him. The franchise needs Albus now. A lot of Albus.
Wth are you talking about?? I thought the 1st Fantastic Beasts did incredible without needing any top names from Harry Potter. Ya Grindelwald technically doesn't count. We might've heard his name from the Harry Potter series, but it doesn't focus on him, & what he's done in his past. The Fantastic Beasts movies do it. Newt just so happens to be the most intriguing & fascinating character because of his suitcase full of beasts. If you want the movies to concentrate on Albus Dumbledore staring into the mirror of erised, & watch Johnny Depp & Jude Law play hide the snake from each other. That's what they're going to be. It's probably like a ritual for Dumbledore to stare into the mirror of erised before going to bed. As he told Harry in his 1st year, that witches & wizards have wasted countless hours, & have been driven mad from staring at it. Dumbledore probably left the mirror for Harry to find in his 1st year just so Harry had a feel good moment at school for himself. Quite frankly i do think that is very sweet, caring, & loving of Dumbledore to give Harry that feeling, but removing the mirror so that Harry would not waste his time in front of it, like he did himself.
@@brandonwaggoner4247 Among other things, you seem to have missed the point that coming off the *second* movie's flop, the third movie obviously needs to do something different. Like, for example, give Law's Albus more than five minutes of screentime.
It's okay if you thought both movies were fine. _Most_ people feel differently, however. Your opinion won't save the series if it continues its present trajectory. The second movie was both a failure critically and a disappointment with its box-office take, which is a combination that kills movie franchises.
Btw? I recommend you use paragraphs and line breaks if you want ppl to read your comments on smartphone screens.
I agree. First movie was great with Newt as the main protagonist but I can’t really say the same for the second. I was pretty disappointed with this one, outside of these scenes. Jude Law is great as a young Dumbledore. This movie was dull and only seemed to be setting up storylines for the next movies. I don’t like the idea of establishing a similar relationship of Dumbledore and Newt to Dumbledore and Harry. The next movies should move away from Newt and lead up to the inevitable showdown between Dumbledore and Grindelwald. Credence’s origin story also had an appeal and I’d be ok with him becoming the central protagonist in the next one
Noooo, you’re voice don’t mean mine. Newt is a brand new hero no one ever dare to write, let’s appreciate Jo’s effort on writing it, Newt is a fantastic character. But one thing I agree with you, Dumbledore needs more appearance.
I think newt is just fine but I would love more Albus Dumbledore,
Dumbledore's got STYLE DAMN JUDE LAW!!!!!!
AlbUS PERcivaL WULfric brIan dumbleDAW
WHO WOULD DISLIKE THIS?!! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH❤❤
At this point they should just have a dumbledore studying at hogwarts movie
I'd much rather that tbh
I wonder if Harry would have reminded Dumbledore of Newt.
More like Hagrid reminded him of Newt.
Harry is absolutly more socially adept and assertive as a 12 year old than Newt was as a 30 year old....
@@Mukation Couldn't agree more :)
@@Mukation "Harry is more socially adept and assertive as a 12 year old than Newt was as a 30 year old"
That's saying something for a man who, unlike Newt, has spent a majority of his childhood in the Non-Wizarding World. One would think that Harry would be more socially inept around Witches and Wizards than he is around the Can't-Spells who see him every summer because he's been in our world a Hell of a lot longer than the Wizarding World.
@@DoctorWhoKage Exactly. And consider how Harry was brought up aswell. He was treated as a slave and servant by his family....
@@Mukation normally, kids who were treated like that end up becoming the villain (as seen with Credence).

I love how he tries to sound like gambon sometimes or at least I think
Dumbledore was a transfiguration teacher, and McGonagall wasnt even a teacher back then, but apart from that I like the scenes in Hogwarts
Honestly, getting Dumbledore's subject wrong is a small potato error.
They didn't get it wrong, he was a transfiguration teacher but he also taught Defense Against the Dark Arts at one point too which we saw here.
@@friendlyotaku9525 What about the McGonagall error?
@@friendlyotaku9525 And what's your source?
@@yosefdemby8792 well the lore itself. As for the mcgonagall thing that may be explained in the upcoming films, I don't think anything can be written off just yet since it's clear a lot that's been set up will be explained in some fashion, I know there's a theory that she used a time turner or something so it could be related to that, who knows.

Jude Law is good, but a young Richard Harris would make the perfect young Dumbledore. Even, perhaps, more than the older Harris made sense as the older Dumbledore.

Now Dumbledore....
I like him as dumbledore I just wish his appearance wasn’t such a massive plot hole, there’s like a ten year gap or something here before we see him meeting Tom riddle
You expect him to fight and defeat his blood brother, forcing Grindelwald to spend the rest of his years in Azkaban Prison, and not come out of it looking the same? We don't even know what really went on in that battle, yet, nor what was done to allow it to happen.
Don't just call out plot holes when you don't even know all the events.
@@samsonguy10k No no. Grindelwald was imprisoned in his own prison: Nurmengard Castle.
@@yosefdemby8792 Ah, gotcha.
"Imprisoned in his own prison." There's some good prose there. :)
That is a problem of the films.... Dumbledore wasn't THAT OLD Looking when he visited Tom for the first time. They should have changed the actor in that scene but they didn't... and Jude Law when he did fantastic beasts 2 ironically had the exact same age of Dumbledore since he is born in 1881 (1927 = 46 years old same age of Jude Law in 2018 XD)
Perfect example of them aging characters just look at Harry's mom and dad they where supposed to be 21 - 22 and they like mid 30s
Ok I didn't see the movie, but why is he in the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom? He taught Transfiguration
J.K. Rowling doesn't care about continuity apparently. Otherwise, he wouldn't've seen Grindelwald in the Mirror of Erised.
Yosef Demby He loved Grindelwald, why wouldn’t he see that?
@@yosefdemby8792 I mean i get where you're coming from but it could also mean just how much he loved Grindelwald over anything else
Yosef Demby I kind of agree with you but on this specific matter maybe there is another explanation that an error of continuity. These events took place at a different period than the HP books. Of course Dumbledore loved his family, was already devastated by his sister death and already wished he could take it all back and apologize to them. But back then, Grindelwald also posed a huge threat to the wizarding world. Maybe Dumbledore sees the Blood Pact in the Miror of Erised because he knows that his only chance of breaking the Pact and becoming able to fight Grindelwald lies in this little vial. Putting his hand on the vial represents his only chance of making things right by finally stopping his old lover whom he has encouraged, helped during this fateful summer many years ago. By doing so, he would prevent other people (other than his sister Ariana, I mean) to suffer from the terrible consequences of his past pride and his mistakes concerning Gellert Grindelwald.
I think it’s only after he defeated Grindelwald, once the threat was dealt with, that his deepest desire became to see his family reunited and happy. (Even though he wanted that all along of course, it just wasn’t his very first desire at the time.)
@@maximem7751 In other words, when he sees Grindelwald, he desires revenge.
I think dumbledore is the wizard everone i the worlds thinks is the most powerfull wizard in the world. And Newt and Harry is what he thinks are the most powerfull wizards in the world.

1:11 Is That sleight of hand card tricks?
Honestly love the thought that a wizard who is so well-versed in magic would also take the time to learn sleight-of-hand and simple magician tricks. In a way it can be an asset when you might find yourself with nothing else to use. Never over-specialize, and don't rule anything that even seems the most mundane out.
@@samsonguy10k Imagine the potential of having, say, glass balls filled with assault potions in them. And then to be able to conjur them even without your wand.
His old age really kicked his ass. He went from THIS to... Yea
