In episode 1 of this Montana archery elk hunt, Randy Newberg links up with employee and fellow tag-holder Michael Parente as they pack up a trailer of llamas and head to central Montana. This area is familiar to Randy as his son shot a mature bull here 16 years prior. Things have certainly changed since then, but they hope to be able to share in some of that success.
After a five hour drive they load up the llamas with panniers full of gear and food and make a big loop to try and get somewhere that other hunters won’t go. Or at least hopefully it puts them in a good position for when the inevitable hunting pressure does come.
It doesn’t take long to find elk, as they locate a herd of spikes and cows not long after leaving the truck. They set up and camp and are up early the next morning to try and locate an elk to either call within range or put a stalk on. While there are plenty of elk around, the task is still a difficult one to complete. - Zábava
I love that Randy's cameramen are part of the show and not afraid to talk on camera.
I love Randy’s hunting philosophy “if it’s legal it’s getting shot at.”
No wonder I can't get the Caramel Crunch MtnOps bars, RANDY has them all!
Golly!!!! Trailer park boys is one of my all time favorite shows!!!!!
Llamas always have a look on their face like they know some important secret we don't !
The best part of video is finding out Randy watches Trailer Park Boys
old age is not for wimps man. Being 68 I feel ya pain.....lol great video man. Really like these set up videos so you can see all that is involved in hunting.
Getting old is not for the faint of heart! Just had my gallbladder taken out and I’m scheduled for a new hip the end of October. I’ll get some hunting in regardless! Hang in there!
I think Michael is a great guy to be with on a hunt really laid back Randy the older you get the more you know your limitations I've learned the hard way
Thank you Michael and Randy for sharing your Elk hunt Great Job 👍 Dale you do amazing work on filming and a real team player It's Great Randy is putting the crew ahead of himself
God's Blessings on all your adventures
Awesome!!! I love trailer park boys! I'll now call you Randy Bo Bandy! Haha
Thanks randy, helpin me recover from hip surgery.. love the hunt!!
Good stuff Randy. Always like seeing you with the staff boys on their hunts. Any video with llamas get me excited to watch. Can't wait to see what's next.
Anyone "laughing" at Randy for the tire / elbow deal just isn't old yet 😀! This is the type of elk hunting I want to do. Lots of comfort, lots of elk!
Ha Ha Ha As an Old Guy, I was thinking, "Why in the hell would I even TRY to put my spare up there?" There's a good reason I didn't get a rack built on my cap. LOL
Shoulda saddled up a llama and rode right into that herd slingin arrows! 🤠
randy quoting JROC from trailerpark boys.... LEGENDARY!!!! gnomesayn
Randy your the man.
Enjoy your videos
Hammer Down
Well, if I tried to throw that spare wheel on top, it would have wound up through that glass window and comingto rest in the rear cargo area. 😄 Another great video!
Finding out that Randy watches Trailer Park Boys is the most surprising and awesome news I have heard in weeks. Knowatamsayin
What a cool hunt!
Awesome stuff! 👌
Super cool hunt
Good show fellas. Got to love the Break's!
We don’t need none of this destination elk knock off stuff! Lol. Keep it up boys.
This hunt was tight as piss nowhatmmmsayin!!
Randi really makes the show I don’t know if you guys have ever watched almost heroes when Chris Farley is smelling the Buffalo crap and Matthew Perry asked him how can you tell that the crap is fresh and he says the herd is right over there and then Chris Farley still smelling the Buffalo crap that’s what I thought of when I seen Randy doing that with the elk crap
BTW, I really enjoy hunting and chasing all types of game, but my outlook has always been, no matter how long you cook them, antlers just never get tender. My family cannot eat antlers, I will never be too proud to shoot a fat cow. Hopefully, I will draw one of the first elk tags in Virginia, my home.
Right about the eating...but twenty years later you can still prove you got one... ;)
My dad's friend did the same thing putting a spare tire in the back of my truck. Day later I called a big 6by6 in to him in the bridgers. He goes to pull the bow back no dice. 15 yard shot.
So you know bubbles haha that's a big kitty A 😆
I love TPB.
Randy just got a lot cooler in my mind. He quotes Kris Kirstofferson!!!
Teddy Roosevelt has a recipe for elk chili, where one of the ingredients is droppings.
If seeing all those Wapiti in one spot doesn't get yer juices flowin'... poke ya wit' a fork, yer done. Now, go git-'em !!!
Fun
How do the fruit snacks taste? They sound delicious😂
Popped bicep tendon
Watch out for rattle snakes in that country if it is warm!
Didn’t you release this hunt on CZcams a few while ago? 🤔
I love trailer park boys
First from London, UK!
Man I can barely get my truck tires off the truck never mind throwing them on top
How do i get one of those "Big Hank" yeti mugs?
Randy I am one year behind you I think at 56, however, I am former military and did way too many ridiculous things. If my joints, limbs, and corpuscles did not pop, creak, whine, and I did not groan with every movement,my wife would think I was dead.
Micheal Duncan, I am 73, was a grunt in Nam and I am a long way from that 21 year old guy physically. That said, I can still rally for a day of hunting. Keep at it, I used a Howa 7mm-08 to extend my hunting days, much more hand/ thumb friendly than an old 1903 Springfield 06. I just bought a new crossbow and got a exemption to use it during Bow season. Applied for a desert bighorn tag. All so I can enjoy a few more seasons hunting with my son. No more five mile pack outs, but I really don't need to kill anything. An easy late season cow tag works fine.
Gods country
Randy, at least it wasn't hurting your back by bending over to tie your boots...ask me how I know?!
Your like me, you got that A G E disease.
Out of staters in Montana, have the same ideas as Joe Biden. Lol
