  • We take a 410rwhp (rear wheel horse power) Fox Saleen Mustang for a drive. This particular Saleen was brought to us to get the final details together so that the owner could enjoy it. There were many things we had to fix and replace to get the car sorted out.
    The car is a blast to drive and enjoy now. We do have some final details to get done before returning it to the owner. This is the last time this car will be featured on the CZcams channel. You'll see snippets of its final condition on our other social media channels. Check us out on Facebook and Instagram under Purist Motorsports.
    We put 1993 Saleen #33 on the rollers. The car has a .030 over 302 (306 cubic inches) with forged internals, a pair of Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, a mild Comp Cams grind camshaft, and a Vortech Supercharger putting out 8.5 lbs of boost through a Saleen intake. How much power does that combo make with old school FMU and fuel pressure management?
    1993 Saleen #33 has a unique story. This car rose from the ashes thanks to the help of Jamie Hammonds in helping us rescue it. We purchased this car many years ago when the owner passed and the family had to liquidate his cars.
    The short story is that the car was driven in the Boston area most of its life and somehow made it down south only to be parked outside for a decade or more. The current owner went to great lengths to make the car look factory. The details are stunning. It also has a bunch of very valuable period correct Saleen Foxbody parts.
    Stay tuned to the channel as we bring you more progress on this car as we put the finishing touches on it for the current owner.
    See the article here on the website about this car and how it was found.

    Man, I love the black color Saleen Mustang version so much besides the white color.

    The low end torque of the SBF combined with the supercharged high end horsepower is a perfect combination. 👍

    Very Nice! You want to know what’s better than a 306/S trim? A 351/T trim combo! It’s pretty similar to mine, from coil overs to alcon brakes/roll bar/bassani exhaust, very fun! Would love to have those wheels tho, sweet!

    Hey Bob great video!! What do you think of the Bassani exhaust for sound, quality, and performance?

    • @PuristMotorsports
      @PuristMotorsports  Před 3 lety +1

      It is very similar in sound to the Flowmaster. It is what the customer put on the car. It is a really good quality product. It's all stainless steel and flows really well. I really like their mid/X pipe pieces. My personal preference is a Dynomax of Borla type sound. With exhaust sound, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

    Got a 79, and I've only ever driven it once because of how many issues it has. But, I wouldnt mind restoring it someday to be race/show ready. Gotta get rid of the I4

    • @PuristMotorsports
      @PuristMotorsports  Před 3 lety

      79 Mustangs are very unique. Several one year only items like the gas tank and the inside door handles. Best of luck in your adventures with it. Sounds like you have big plans.

      @@PuristMotorsports crazy enough, as of last night I have to let it go. My cousin can't hold it any longer and I dont have anywhere to store it so if my other cousin can hold it for a project car then that'll be good. Otherwise its going to the boneyard

    The only thing I hated about the late fox body’s were the steering wheel it was the same one from the Taurus, I like the look of the earlier steering wheels

    • @PuristMotorsports
      @PuristMotorsports  Před rokem +1

      But it’s leather wrapped on the 5.0 Mustangs. Yeah… that didn’t make it much better. Lol. I would agree that the airbag wheel is bulky and unattractive.

  • @rooster5755
    @rooster5755 Před 2 lety +1

    lol.different seats and suffers from being to high!wow,head almost out the sunroof if it had one,knees hitting steering wheel.i have the cobra seats in mine and they are higher also but can be adjusted much lower than it seems your can.either way,nice car.have a GT show car that sounds the same with that blower on.

    • @PuristMotorsports
      @PuristMotorsports  Před 2 lety

      Classic sound on the blower isn’t it? You’re right that the Recaro’s sit high. There is a setup that allows them to be lower but the setup Saleen used in 1992-1993 sets the seat bottom about 1” higher than the OE Ford seats. That setup used the Ford sliders. I used the former in Almost 4 to lower them down. The Wedge Engineering brackets are used with different sliders. A non OE Ford setup. Much better quality IMHO.

    • @PuristMotorsports
      @PuristMotorsports  Před 3 lety

      They are cloth Saleen Recaro seats. Standard for the 92-93 Saleen's. Leather was an option as well.

    • @PuristMotorsports
      @PuristMotorsports  Před 2 lety +1

      No one is making them at the current time. A short run was made by a private investor about 5 years ago. Best advice I can give is to keep your eye out on all the Saleen for sale groups.

      @@PuristMotorsports Thanks for letting me know. I remember hearing about a company that was doing them but were bad quality. Any recommendations for a hood that has some venting but still stockish look to it? This hood would of been perfect imo. Looks great.

    • @PuristMotorsports
      @PuristMotorsports  Před 2 lety +1

      A really well built auto can be faster in the 1/4. But there are so many variables that weigh into that.
