Thank you, Doctor. I have recently developed olecranon bursitis apparently due to improper posture while typing all day. I didn't know what was happening and due to the grotesque appearance of the swollen elbow, I rushed to the ER. I was afraid that I would throw a clot
and have a stroke, etc. I am thankful for the information that you presented. I actually was given little information about the nature of my bursitis and your video has proven to be quite informative to me. Thanks for this helpful video.

My neighbor has an infected olecranon bursitis that resulted from an infected hair follicle on the elbow. He is on his 3rd week of antibiotics and is slowly improving with almost no swelling or pain but he said it's a slow process. Great video and I forwarded it to him so he can better understand what's going on with his elbow.

Lithe Lassie, you are right! Last night it showed up, out from the blue, I went to doctor today, but his opinion was to let it be and if it will be painful then take it to next step. Exactly as you say Long Live Internet.
Thank you also Mr Randal for uploading this video

thanks for this good info that answered my questions. Urgent care did everything except inject steroid. Referred me to ortho, but as culture confirmed that it is not infected, I will wait to see if symptoms resolve with compression, ice, elevation and will watch for symptoms of infection--fever, pain, redness, warmth, drainage, swelling . . .and my cervical pillow is perfect for relieving chronic elbow pressure.

My bursitis has finally healed after 6 weeks of agony. I had to be admitted into the hospital for 4 days in order Eder to get IV antibiotics into my system. My biggest concern is if the bursa sac will grow back.

I have no pain-I think I smacked in doorway - Dryer door. It’s swollen good Ordered a elbow compression. I’m not wanting a needle unless absolutely necessary. Other channels say once drained raises chances of infection?

Currently in the hospital for this and the Dr don't know what it is I feel like they don't care I'm in agonizing pain and because it's not swollen the Dr won't do anything about it like drain it or do surgery they took a sample of the fluid and because it's not infected they told me to just leave it and deal with the pain the pain is constantly at a 9 and swollen im more mad because my Dr aren't doing jack to help me and acting like if they drain the fluid it'll be dangerous

helpful. I just had it drained last night at the ER. It came on suddenly, and having researched it online I did not wait to wait to have it evaluated. Awaiting results to see it there was infection or gout. Internet is excellent for patients to better understand their symptoms and to seek prompt and appropriate medical care. I have discomfort now that I didn't have before aspiration; at this point I attribute it to the 18 gauge needle stick which made my elbow joint very sore.

I'm currently on my 2nd bursitis elbow lump on the same elbow. This one has become sceptic and hurts bad, unlike the 1st one which was a painless lump. Currently on antibiotics and prescribed anti inflammatories. This interview was very informative and put my mind at rest with this 2nd bursitis injury. I do feel like I know more about the injury and will opt for a operation, if suggested by the doctor.
    Appreciate the information.
    Thanks.

@@infiniteg7852 it was sensitive to the touch. A very similar feeling to getting a bee sting, hurt when touched. I had to be admitted into hospital. They inserted a PIC line under my left bicep which administered antibiotics more directly to my elbow. Drs think I may have been bitten by something. Go to the Drs if pain persist. I have a located bursa that they can no longer drain because it seems walled off. I've had it for three months after a total shoulder replacement that became infected. The Drs are moving slowly on it. They never had it tested for infection but just got back abnormal RBC too many to count (over 600) Clarity is abnormal and mostly appears to be blood vs synovial fluid. I'll be getting more aggressive with my Dr tomorrow. No signs of crystals/gout.

I got bursitis on my elbow and the doctor told me to take a few anti inflammatory pills and see what happens. 2 weeks later I have a swelling and the fluid has spread to my forearm and elbow. I asked them to drain, but the doctor said no. Blood sample was taken and there was no signs of infection. However, the part of the arm below the elbow is like a foam pillow where if I press for a few seconds it leaves a big print into all the way to the bone. What should I do now that the fluid is spread out and no longer only in the elbow?
    Best regards from Sweden
