That elliptical coil will hear that half dollar. Turn your reactivity down to 1, And adjust your discrimination to 30. You can't ask too much out of a metal detector. A minelab extera 705 will find a silver dime at 14 inches. In undisturbed soil. Need to listen to tones. Iron has a masking effect. If you hear a low tone and high tone you have 2 targets. Must dig.

It’s a real advantage living in an area just like you in Oregon these are great tips Jeremy!

Thanks for sharing you knowledge PS!
If I still have my xp deus 1 is it worth hunting down the aftermarket coils at this point in the game?

Should I get the x35 instead of the HF if I already have original 9" coil that came with the machine. My original does 4khz to 17khz and with the HF doing 15khz to 55khz surely there is no point getting the X35

I would agree with your hunch - get the HF. The HF gives you more versatility if you find yourself on a trashy permission too - I detect in old fruit orchards in the UK which are full of old pickers trash such as 'canslaw', bits of foil and iron - the HF is fantastic at picking out targets amongst it all. The X35 will in theory give you a little bit more depth but the difference probably isn't enough to change your choice. That's my view anyway. I now have both HF coils and when I can afford it I am going to get the bigger X35 because I reckon swinging those three over a target-rich site you're going to get most if not all of the finds out. I am hoping the X35 will just nip out those slightly deeper targets, but it might not work well in the orchards because the lower frequency might struggle to find targets amongst the iron. I do have some meadows and it will do well there I think.

You cant get more depth than that stock deep program ..Tx 3,reactivity 1,90 sense,Turn up the audio response..11,inch dime in my soil np..I use the 11inch stock .Havent tried the Hf coils yet.

I really like the stock deep program in pitch tone. I have tried many spots with the deep and it is just to much for my hot soils. The 9" hf does not hit on deep coins as well as the x35. I like the hf coils in my hot soils and in relic dumps.

@@PaystreakSuperfreak Your video confirmed my thinking. I purchased my Deus with the HF elliptical and it works brilliantly at pulling small targets out of the trashy fruit orchards I detect on, however in meadows and other unploughed land it just doesn't punch deep enough for me. I have just got the round HF so I can go over finds-rich areas in those orchards and nip out slightly deeper stuff, but I want to get the 11" X35 to go deeper in the meadows. I will try it in the orchards but I strongly suspect it will be very difficult to use there because it will struggle with the iron contamination. I reckon those three are the ones to have if you want to cover most of the bases.

WTF??? why didnt you test the x35 and hf at the same frequency???? 7kz for the x35 and 14 for the hf.Doh!! obviously the hf hits it better, lol :) Sorry pay, but i lost a little respect here, while you bagged out the x35, by deliberatly putting it on an uneven test condition vs the hf your information and commentry are just wrong on that , remember, lots of deus users have all coils and we know what they are and how they perform.. your love affair with the deus and hf coils (and the mistaken belief that somehow, hunting in high freqs (50and above) is somehow going to magically be the end all of everything, well you in for a nasty surprise.your junk ratio is going to go thru the roof! ( doesnt matter how many years a detectorist or how many machines you have used or own, thats the deal with the deus :) same was true with the equinox, unless you had it set for cherry picking coins, until you get a good working handle on the machine, she was a junk magnet, just like the deus. and seriously a 74 ground phase isnt really hot soil :)..Sorry for the critique mate, but hey, pound for pound, the x35 is the better choice, offering all the frequecies machines have offered over the last 30 years or whatever, findingit all from roman coins to gold nuggets..the x35 are the only coils ANYONE who doesnt prospect needs :) i guess if you love hunting in those high freqs, we just gonna have to get used to my favourite catchphase of yours..." IS IT A COIN?...NO, IT'S JUNK " LOL love it :)..still love your videos man :)..but maybe a bit of variety since you got the deus..have you still got an impact? bust it out sometime, i love my impact more everyday, its definitly Makros best..cheers dude, and happy hunting from down under! :)
