What a great addition to the Mines future. I hope there are lots of experienced jeep mechanics that can assist with the restoration. Your definitely funny. Thank you for sharing your awesome adventure with us. From Henrico County Virginia
I had a 53 M38A1 with a Warn overdrive and a 231 V6 that I drove daily 100 miles roundtrip to work. I put the scrambler half top on it with the canvas doors and drove it for over two years until the outfit I worked for gave me a company truck. I sometimes regret letting it go, but in its place I do have a 96 Jeep Cherokee that I've been driving for the last twenty three years. Owning them has definitely been a Jeep thing...
Man you are one lucky dude those Jeeps are so hard to find in the condition you got! Parts are available, but hard to find and many $! Still admire your drive and determination! Everything out there requires a lot of work and none of it is easy! Good luck and I hope you get some help and make that M38a1 work for you, just watch the turns, they rend to flip!! 😃
That was a wonderful find, and it slready is z great addition to Tecopa Mines, Ross!👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👋🏾 God bless you and your projects! 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
VERY COOL!!! Especially if it still has the 4 cylinder engine. I've always been a Land Rover guy, but I wouldn't mind having an old Overlander, a MUTT, or a Mighty Mite.
Looks like International front hubs. Probably a mid 60's Scout parts swap. This is really ready to go, a little WD40, a couple tubes, some Armor All and it'll be downhill rally ready...
Cool ❤ my old roommate brother owns General Patton’s jeep and he has the 30 caliber and the 50 caliber is rifle and he gets veterans to sign the body to commemorate our great veterans and men who fought in World War II
“Kaiser Willys is proud to be a leader in providing high quality parts for Willys Jeeps including the MB, GPW, CJ2A, CJ3A, CJ3B, M38, M38A1, Willys Wagon, Truck, Jeepster, CJ5, CJ7 and CJ8”. My original comment is missing. What happened? YT does not like mentioning other channels? Another YT channel just repaired a 50s Jeep. Taryl is his first name.
Being a miner, you may appreciate this crazy footage I have from a railroad adventure... I just shared from 17 years ago: czcams.com/video/SPuTvFGKo1Y/video.htmlsi=QSbjvrYGqcD70hRL
husband speaking age 80 - my British Friend in Cebu, Ph bought a nearly perfect Willys from the owner in Australia. It was shipped to Cebu and he did a lot of mechanical work on it. I brought him new wire and new window rubber and some other mechanical parts he would order on line and send to my U.S. address and I would either cargo mail it to him or hand carry parts when we came over each Nov. It was almost perfect except for the rifle.
This jeep was original, and there is a Willys shop in the U.S. that he ordered some parts from. He had it running pretty good before he passed away. Sold it first, his wife did not have to worry about it.@@ostrich67
After looking at those tires, add belts, hoses and cables plugs to the want list. Plenty of work to make her run. Your environment not nice to cars at all. How long do batteries last in your heat ?
Cool find who hasn't wanted a military jeep the government deemed them unsafe for the tsxpayer who paid for them originally so gave them to 3,rd workd nations that disliked us or scaped them :(
I've owned two CJ-7 Jeeps over my lifetime and the first thing I did with them was take off the doors and put on a bikini top (bikini car top, just so we're clear on that point). Now that I'm older I prefer comfort, but I admit that I always wanted an original Willys Jeep. Talk about bare bones transportation, nothing beats it for simplicity and ruggedness. And it's a perfect match for the kind of environment you live in, Ross. It's not exactly a chick magnet, but I'm pretty sure it will turn the heads of some envious guys. It's funny how you edited the video to be a mystery about just what it was you were going to get, and then put the McGuffin right there in the title. I don't blame you. I'd be excited to tell people too. Enjoy your new ride. If it was my Jeep I think I'd get it in perfect functional condition, but leave the paint just as it is. Messed up paint on most cars looks trashy, but on a jeep it gives it character. And if you happen to see a good deal on a decent used full size pickup truck let me know. I need to swap out my Buick Riviera for something more practical. Bye and thanks for sharing, and have fun with your new toy.
Looks to be in decent condition and will be a fun project.
Very nice find , will be hours of entertainment before , and after the restoration process !!! ✔️👍😎

Hope to see that running someday Ross! Perfect mine vehicle, good luck with it.🍻
Give me time and you’ll see it running around here and down around Tecopa.

Love it! I'm looking forward to the restoration!
You and me both!
Have fun with that Jeep, when I was younger we had one of those on the farm. Simple piece of machinery that will run, run, run. Have fun with it!!
I plan on it. Thanks!

👍... rolling wheels, axles is a good sign. Hope springs eternal!
Several years ago, I had a 1953 ex-USMC M38A1. It was stock original, running, and Marine green. I used it for years for desert explorations.
VERY COOL!!! Especially if it still has the 4 cylinder engine.
I've always been a Land Rover guy, but I wouldn't mind having an old Overlander, a MUTT, or a Mighty Mite.
Awesome AC system and knocker knob. lol. Pat thinking what did I get myself into.
That is awesome, great find!👌👍
Great find!
Nice find, I have a '53 CJ3A

Congratulations on a great new addition to the Mines!
Thank you!
Sweet Jeep Ross.
Thanks
# 2 lets hope Wonder Hussy doesn't run into any dust devils at Burning Man.
You gave away the artifact when you showed a vehicle trailer. What a score!

Ironically a lot of reproduction parts including whole bodies are made in the Philippines.

10k soon, good work, Ross the Boss!
Good luck bring those old jeeps back. Can get pricey? I did one of them. Luckily, I got my money back, Once again, good luck.
Nice Jeep ✌️
Great find at 1st glance I thought it was from Rat Patrol the TV series it will be well worth it getting it up and running 🏆🤔
Nice find 🎉
Thanks 👍
Nice!
Watching now nice 👍
Thanks for watching
Well that's a great score for you
Those bumpers look strong.
They’re angle iron add-ons. They’ll be replaced with correct Obed soon tho.
Happy you got it.
One less for old mister Collins if you know who he is
M38A1 predecessor to my CJ5
I don’t know him. Feel free to message me at tecopamines@gmail.com if I should.
nice
Let's see what's under the hood!
Next video. But it’s a 4cylinder Hurricane.
@@tecopamines ultra reliable.
You might consider subscribing to Hemmings Motor News, a great resource for parts for your new, but old, set of wheels!

The M38 had the F-head with a whopping 75hp.
Three speed all the way!
👍❤️
😁👍
I hope it was cheap!!!
Ask me when it’s finished. Lol.

The CZcams channel taryl fixes all this working on what something like that the other day

@@tecopamines ya looked it was it an inline6 or what it had for a motor
Was that a PTO in the back?
No. Homemade bumper. Gone now.

Lol. I don’t pick the. Ideo thumbnails. The software does that all by itself. I think it focuses on people in the videos usually but not always tho.
Good video but how is your body doing at burning Man protesters and now flooding
