Want another really good rock band with a black vocalist? Sevendust. Phenomenal band
Also killswitch engage
And oceano
Killswitch Engage old vocalist name is Howard Jones. Another metal band with an african american frontman is Oceano, theyre deathcore and very good!
This song is SO good. You should check out Skindred “Rat Race” for reggae mixed with metal-fronted by a black man who is phenomenally talented and one of the best performers I’ve seen.
You voice my guy is sooooo chill and relaxing…. I’m following for that and that is enough
This is Awesome! Thanks for expanding my musical understanding Dave, and whoever requested this!
OMGGGGG that metal & rap mix is so powerful ! I love to see that mentalitties changed, I remember the dualities between music styles, and to see that kind of masterpiece matching these styles so perfectly is amazing !!
The voice of the rapper is incredible, what a talent !
Wooow big Dave Face Approvals, I see haha !! I understand why your face hurts then 😂
and before AJ Channer, this band had another brother named Eric July. (who is now part of a band called "Backwordz")
I've been waiting for this band to get the recognition it needs! Thank you for reacting to them!
I know I’m a bit late, but this was filmed in Austin tx. They are not paid actors, I know one of the dudes that pops up with a sign. The hype was real.
Everything from Fire From the Gods is amazing! They have a few different sounds. I suggest trying out The Voiceless and End Transmission also.
I was about to drop this, but... when they began to sing I started enjoying myself!
Fun fact their original lead singer was Eric July. They parted . Now Eric front his own metal band called "backwordz" . Should check them out.
Dude you are the most zen reactor lol your voice is so calming.
They've released a new album Soul Revolution. It's a banger!!!
My favorite example of brothers in metal is the band God Forbid. Check out their song "Equilibrium"
Loved this reaction
Oh.. a rap rock band with a DJ?
YEAH BOY
Someone tell these guys what year it is
- Metalocalypse
Lajon Whiterspoon from Sevendust also Lake Blocher from Embracing the Enemy
Back in the day we had Living Colour who are still going and Fishbone who I think are still going. Also don't forget the females. Check out Skunk Anansie. Skin is brilliant as a front woman.
Heard they are awesome in concert... Listen to more of them! They are effing awesome!
React to their song Right Now please!!!!!
Also Break The Cycle is amazing and has a very deep message about police brutality and just the corrupt systems that govern us.
The ultimate stank face was had in this and I can't get enough. Great reaction broski. Really appreciate you doing this song.
I love this band
I've been watching since the Boys Sick video, didn't know this video existed and I'm honestly happy you checked it out lol
You are funny bro, there are plenty of trailblazers from Punk to Metal. For example BAD BRAINS, PURE HELL, DEATH and newer artists like The Objex, Sevendust, Straight Line Stitch, Body Count, Backwordz .......etc just to name a few. Good reaction and thank you.
The guy on killswitch engage is Howard Jones. he actually left the band due to mental health issues and started up his own band called Light the Torch, which is fantastic.
Other African American guys in metal include Lajon Witherspoon with Sevendust, Rasheed Thomas the rhythm guitarist for Nonpoint, Skindred's Benji Webbe is a Jamaican immigrant to Britain who does 'Reggae Punk' as they call it, and Hyro the Hero is a pure rapper who raps to a heavy metal/Hard Rock sound. I'd be able to recommend songs from all of these groups on request.
Edit: P.O.D. is who I was forgetting and they're fantastic, with Traa Daniels at Bass Guitar.
Fire from the Gods is great. You should also check out Hyro The Hero if you liked this. He's got a bunch of great tracks and aside from some light radio play is mostly underground.
Their last 2 records have plenty of bangers, some are more on the heavier/rock side & some lean more towards the rap/electronic vibes. 1 track in particular "They Don't Like it" (features guest vocals with Sonny Sandoval of the band P.O.D) heavily utilizes that reggae-ish vocal quality that he brings in the middle section of this track a little.
Come on bruh. " Open up this lyrical automatic and put holes in your rhetoric". That shh fire😂😂😂
Fire from the gods / American sun/ the voiceless / make you feel it / all my hero’s are dead. This band is so powerful with their message and yet this is the only song people react to
Nonprofit has a black lead singer ad a few band members so does Rage against the Machine
Just now seeing this video. Love fire from the gods. Check out “The Veer Union”. They are going to blow up soon.
Dave, this song's been out for a while, a long long while, and you just NOW getting to a reaction of it? 🤣
There are millions upon millions of videos that I have not seen, like yourself. Videos you could have sworn everybody seen, it’s a big world!
Well this reaction is random as fuck but definitely a good thing.
Very nice. If you like the metal/rap thing, check out Anthrax and Public Enemy's Bring the Noise. There's also Anthrax's I'm the Man. 👍🤘
You never heard of Oceano and Autumn Lies Buried
Bro react Divitius - Memento Mori
never heard rap-metal? I'm curious what happens when he listen to Rage Against the Machine
Interesting. I heard plenty of rage against the machine, I just thought they were alternative rock/rock rap, like linkin park.
@@whatitdodave they were one of the first who played the crossover sound iirc
2:30 but Howard Jones left the band, and that whitey, Jessie Leech, came back. (and after that, i stopped listening to the band altogether.)
but also, there's this one old band (whom i think broke up), which also had a black leader singer. this band called "God Forbid".
Try D.V.S.R. Great band
