    The Himmy has amazing suspensions, i gave it a chef's kiss on the test ride. Then came sat on my Inty and forgot everything about the Himmy. The Visceral experience of the Inty is so surreal, even office commutes are so much fun. Slowly turning it into a touring machine - mod by mod!. I'm in Love ❣

    Hey great content!!! Informative as well as well great presentation. Got jus one query, do u feel the YSS on Interceptor is better than the Himalayan in terms of comfort? I am looking for the one with most comfort.
    In the stock avatar, I found the Himalayan to me more comfortable than the Interceptor but I dont mind upgrading to YSS on Interceptor. So that way, would an YSS on Interceptor feel more comfortable than the Himalayan stock suspension?

      The two motorcycles are of a completely different nature as I pointed out in the video. Yes the stock version of the New Himalayan will be comfortable. However if you upgrade to YSS front and rear on Interceptor, like I have, then it is not a comparison anymore. It is way more comfortable and makes the rider more confident while riding.

    INT 650 is extremely customizable, I mean you have dudes from Japan to some small county in New jersey or Australia to Thailand. The amount of international expertise you get online to Mod INT650 is mind boggling. The 650 parallels as an Engine is extremely customizable. The Torque just brings the weird grin on my face evetime I crack open the throttle. And mine is running at 59Hp/60Nm Tq after spending less than 1.2 lac including Dyno. That's like 2.9 lac for the bike (2020) +1 lac on mods. I highly doubt you can have that much fun for 4-4.5 lac lol

    • @SrinivasGanesh
      @SrinivasGanesh  Před 4 měsíci

      Woah! I’m curious to know what all are you running to make it 59hp!! And I completely agree with you. It is an excellent base to customise. 🫶🏽⚡️

    • @666Kudos
      @666Kudos Před 4 měsíci +1

      So basically According to Rivalry motors, there are 2 Cat converters inside single Exhaust. One look at the dissection, I knew I had to change the header pipe and exhaust. Now that is sorted I had to work with Air intake, which was basic add a BMC air filter. But the AFR (Air fuel ratio) went mental, so had to correct it with Fuel X-Pro and Stage 2 De-restricting plate. It was fun but again I knew the engine can handle more. So popped a After market ECU, and 16t front sprocket, to have some fun with Gear ratio along with hours of Dyno Runs. The fueling is so frikin perfect I can do 140 all day and still get 24-25 mileage. I think even a sloppy engineer can get you about 51+Hp with this setup during Dyno runs. My suggestion would be add High lift cams and bigger Valves if you have done this. Don't touch the Piston. Just the Valvs and Cams.
      *Ahh yes... Not to mention the Quick Shifter... So Much Funnn

Unless you really want to do hardcore off roading I would suggest keep the Interceptor. I am an Interceptor owner and my brother owns the new Himalayan so talking from experience.

  • @raghavvijayakumar5126
    @raghavvijayakumar5126 Před 4 měsíci +1

    Suspensions and the ergonomics are the deciding factor. How about the engine refinement ? Does the Himalayan feels buzzy and annoying ? As an Interceptor owner l know that the exhaust note is sweet throughout the rev range. Even my mind oscillates to go for Himalayan at times but then engine reliability is a concern. Also l have trust issues when people say that Himalayan is near perfect and there are no issues. Sorry just my opinion

    • @SrinivasGanesh
      @SrinivasGanesh  Před 4 měsíci

      No motorcycle is near perfect. Anything above 400 cc will vibrate. No matter how many rubber mounts you add to it. That is a fact. Annoying level is subjective. Engine feels very smooth and refined. Liquid cooling in motorcycles is considered better than air cooling.

    • @btijti
      @btijti Před 4 měsíci

      As an Interceptor owner and also as a person who rides the new Himalayan (coz my bro owns it), you cannot match the smoothness and the effortless power/torque delivery of the 650 on a Himalayan. Hello Bhai
    First of all I must say, I find you to be very mature hence I prefer to watch your videos. I first found about you when you and Abhinav made a small trip wherein he was analysing his highness’ riding.
    Your video on Himalayan vs Interceptor on various parameters was such a good one!
    I’m 24, 5’8 and weigh 65KGs, with an average physique I’d say
    I have a great experience with scooters (traffic, highways, solo, pillion, with luggage etc in all sorts of terrain)
    I recently learnt to ride a bike on Honda shine with a pillion sitting behind me all along and it was very easily manageable. Though I learnt on non traffic roads.
    I can’t afford to have multiple bikes hence looking for one bike that can do it all.
    Is interceptor 650 a good transition for me? (I know it’s more than 200 kg and has high power for Indian roads, hence a sane mind says not to go for it)
    The problem I have with going with a small bike is that I’ll outgrow it very soon (in terms of power and hence wanting more) and I want to keep my bike for at least 4-5 yrs (cuz I plan on to move onto cars post that).
    Growing up, MotoVlogs have been such an integral part of my life and I remember vividly riding cycles for 40-50 kms in stretches just to explore, then on my scooter.
    Do you think interceptor will be a good choice or should I settle for something of a lesser weight?
    Cuz I think it’s only the weight that seems intimidating because I believe I will have that throttle control until I’m fully connected to the bike
    PS: I’ll be commuting 60-70% of my time in city (includes Mumbai traffic) and rest on highway tours
    Please guide, should I go for it or not
    Thanks in advance

    • @SrinivasGanesh
      @SrinivasGanesh  Před 24 dny

      Thank you for your comment. I really appreciate that.
      Your physique will change over a period of time. So I suggest you hit the gym and work on core strength regardless of what bike you will have in future.
      Your riding skills will improve over time provided you practice riding in slow speeds in a parking lot or an empty space; since low speed is where most incidents happen.
      You can definitely go for interceptor 650. It is a reliable and a very capable motorcycle and I love it.
      'Power' in motorcycle is directly proportional to the 'chull' in our brains. If we want to overtake all the time and are in a constant state of hurrying from point A to point B, then more power will be required, if we just want to cruise on the side of the road, then whatever power is there will be sufficient.
      It is not the weight, it is the riding skills. I had a Harley Fatboy too once, it weighs 327kilos. Never once did I complain about the weight.
      I strongly suggest you take multiple test rides. Long test rides. And if it doesn't matter to you then go for a second hand interceptor 650. Learn the ins and outs of the motorcycle, that ways, because of its second hand nature you will not mind if it gets nicked here and there. And would appreciate the power too.
      P.s. Getting a second hand interceptor will also make some room for your budget interns of riding gear. Which is paramount. Proper helmet, riding jacket, gloves, pants and shoes.
      All the best!

    I test rode H450 and as an INT 650 owner I cannot switch to a single cylinder low torque more vibe-y engine. I’M NOT SAYING IT’S BAD. I’M JUST SAYING COMPARED TO INTERCEPTOR 650 AND IT’S INCREDIBLE TORQUE DELIVERY AT MUCH LOWER RPM IT BECOMES A BREEZE TO OVERTAKE ANYONE IN SIX GEAR AT 100 KM/H, IT JUST PULLS AT ANY GIVEN POINT OR GEAR.
    Also, it is much much smoother at 100 km/h like the engine doesn’t even know or Care if it’s doing 100 K

    What do you think about the shortcomings of INT 650. I am having classic 350, and planning for upgrade. I test rode both, Himalayan 450, and Interceptor 650, ride quality wise, Interceptor is far ahead. However, when I see at the instrument console, and the lights, I feel it could have been done better. Can we modify these things? Just wanted to know so that I can make my decision.
    Also, should I wait for Himalayan 450 scram?

      @SrinivasGanesh  Před 4 měsíci

      The lights in earlier model Interceptor 650 (like the one I have) were far better as it allowed the user to replace the halogen bulb with an LED bulb for a better throw. Yes everything is customisable. If you know which one you like but are waiting for the electronics to get better then it is going to be a long wait. Just for comparison sake, LED and alloy wheels were introduced in Interceptor 650 after 5 years. You can only imagine how long it will take for a change to take place from the factory.

      As for the shortcomings, no motorcycle is perfect. We just learn to live with the imperfections which sort of define its character.
      shortcomings are

      I have not yet experienced it on the New Himalayan. I have only completed 400 kms on it. 500 more and the break in period will be over. After that I plan to go long on this thing.

    If only it was legal to change the skiny rear tire in my country, I would get an Interceptor 😕

      Austria, talked to the local RE dealer. Said the stock width is the only legal spec. It's a shame because it's the only thing I really don't like about the looks.

      oh! I didn't know that could be a legal thing too! But can't you get it changed talking to the transport authority or something? I know that in Germany you can ask the inspector to come and inspect it, if they okay it, then it is legal.@@fredarthur-art

      @@SrinivasGanesh That could be an option but you never know the outcome, it costs additional money and overall definitely too much hassle unfortunately. Thanks for the hint though.

      Fred, the Interceptor follows the template of the classics from yesteryears. Almost all of the 60's motorcycles had skinny wheels on them (Skinnier than the ones on the interceptor). Even the mighty 1972 Kawasaki Z1 had skinnies on it.
