Yes guys it's the last of our Christmas Holiday days out, it's our trip to Landmark Forest Adventure Park to see the ancient forest Twi-Lights 😁🌲 So, Zoe and I introduce the video at home before we set off to Landmark in the afternoon, driving the very picturesque road from Forres to Grantown-on-spey 😊 We had an hour or so before dark to let the kiddies on some of the attractions, especially the bamboozaleum which Florence loved!! Finally it was time for our walk around the magical enchanted forest with all of the lovely lights and music, it was brilliant and a perfect end to the Christmas break 😌 We really hope you enjoy the video, please subscribe to our channel and drop us a like we would really appreciate it x

I have a 32 yr old son with special needs who had melt downs in public as a child. People would often stare and even comment as I would soothe him and help him calm. As he got older (12 ish) he had better coping skills. You are doing amazing! I would suggest you consider a proper evaluation to aid you in learning all you can to help him as he gets older. Hi 👋 my son as learning difficulties he 26 but when he was a kid he would have meltdowns and I would get people looking, and one day I heard this woman say “that kid needs a good slap” and my grandma heard this woman say it and my grandma said “have you never been a kid” the woman didn’t know where to put her face, my grandma said to me “I don’t like people who judge people when they know nothing about you” my grandma was always right dont listen to people who like to criticise
Joseph is a sweetheart. I don't know how it works in Scotland but in the US if you get an early diagnosis, there are things in place to help you. Also if he is set to start school soon, a diagnosis would get him special services. I would be thinking of what is available for him educationally.
Kudos to the girls on the ropes course. I didn't experience one until I was much older. Great for them to start young to built their confidence.
Love the girls hats they are adorable. Hopefully there will be special school programs for Joseph to help him through the school years. Keep it up Zoey and Ben you are doing a great job.

People are staring when your child is screaming because they are so thankful that it is not their own child - that Joeph is having longer time between bad days and melt downs is great - well done Zoe, Ben and the older sisters - I am from a large extended family so we had older cousins take us when we were little - I am one of 31 first cousins
Zoe & Ben, you're both doing a great job with Joseph. You know your child and what he might do in different situations, and ya do your best to help him out. I have 3 grandsons the same as Joseph, one is 23, 10 & 9. It just takes time and pactions with them and they are all doing great. The oldest is in wielding and building things and the younger two are in school and learning how to cope with life and others around them. We do have to explain things to them in advance as to let them get use to the idea of what's coming up soon. Your wonderful parents and Joseph will do just fine in life as he gets older with your guidance and love. 💖💖💖
Everyone has bad days. When I am hurting I am a virtual bear. We all just have days and moods. People shouldn't stare or make comments. Joseph is such a sweet little boy. You are both wonderful parents. I am so happy that God gave Joseph to you. He is very lucky to have you and his siblings. You are all blessed to have him. I feel blessed to have found your channel.

Totally relate with you over Joseph... we have been down the same path with our son. Dont be hard on yourself Zoe...its all new territory for you. And yes its blooming hard when there are other siblings to consider as well on a day out. Like Ben says the little lad has done so well through xmas, reflect on the positives and learn from the negative situations how you can adapt things and make it better for him next time. Ear defenders were a game changer for us and also from a selfish perspective our son wearing a sunflower lanyard in public helped people to be more understanding and certainly helped us as parents handle meltdowns in public more confidently with the lanyard on show people understood and let us be. Enlist on online webinars....they are so so helpful too. Good luck with your journey. He is a special little boy who will find his place in life aided by you.

Totally been where you are with Joseph and I learnt never go without buggy, then progressed to major buggy. You are doing a fantastic job with him. Each child is an individual and when you add in additional needs it does become more complex but it really is one day at a time and you got this. xx

I wonder if you did get an official diagnosis for Joe that maybe there are more resources available for him and you to help with managing and learning through the process. Things that if done now may actually be very advantageous when school time arrives to help with that adjustment.

@aimeeciszek6672 I knew this I was fighting for a diagnosis, for my son he got his at age 13 for ADHD and at the age of 14 got a diagnosis for autism. I was so angry that this wasn't picked up when he was younger.
To be fair on them it’s difficult to get a diagnosis with the state of the NHS.
Where still waiting for a diagnosis been on the waiting list for 9 years! And my grandaughter is 12 tomorrow! X
Hes on a waiting list like many others it takes years my granddaughter is on the list been told 4 years waiting time and she needs help now ! It's awful theres so many that need diagnosis 😢

My sixteen year old daughter and 3 year old grandson is autistic and it is challenging but also rewarding because there both so clever and very loving but just get over stimulated and overwhelmed.I think your doing amazing so don't be hard on yourself xxx

Just WOW ! what a lovely magical time you had at landmark it was beautiful with all the lights little Florence was chatting away at the park so cute😍😍 yeah folk can be weird staring at parents when their little ones have melt downs i used just get on with the situation and let them stare . You are doing just great with him my granddaughter has Autism and adhd and i know her parents worry about doing it right its so hard sometimes what to do advice is helpful but not all advice helps a particular child . Anyway thank you so much for taking us along on youre magical day ❤❤❤

You wull probably have help for diagnosis when he starts school and they can help you with how to deal with situations better and ultimately have that extra support for his future too..x

Just thought as well I used to do a vest then a long sleeved top then warm coat, no jumper/hoodie as that would drive her bonkers. I would have blanket and buggy so when she got too cold she would warm up under blanket in the buggy. Never underestimate the need for electronic devices take them and always have a battery pack charged just in case you need to charge them, favourite food in bag and drink. I hope this helps. xx

My 8yr old grandson is waiting on a diagnosis, we took him to my sisters for the first time in a cpl of yrs and he was ok for a bit then started having a meltdown, my sister managed to talk to him quietly on his level he calmed down, with adhd u dont know when or if theyre going to have one. He had another one in the car because of mcdonalds i think it was all tiredness and everything to do with Christmas its very overwhelming for them ❤❤❤ i know joseph doesnt understand why he gets like it as hes still very young love him ❤ my grandson says theres something in his head so does my great niece ❤❤

Your children are delightful and I thought it was very sweet when Toby cleaned Flo’s dirty hand. He’s a very caring little boy. We all have our off days so try not to worry too much about Joseph, he’s a lovely little boy. 😊❤️

My big mistake is moving from aviemore all time there never went to landmark🤣when first moved there was the year of very bad snow, we loved it the cold an all, now live further up scotland near John o groats but miss aviemore, one day we will pop to landmark 😊

You’s are doing great ! I got told to let them know what’s happening before hand pictures etc somewhat of a plan so they know what’s happening. Maybe ear defenders? It’s not easy being in there wee world the world must be so overwhelming.
If you visit your GP he can refer you to CAMHS which will help with getting that diagnosis which will open up the resources you need! My son is autistic he is 23 now but life is easier now because we have more support for him ! The diagnosis is so important it will give you more financial help which makes buying him things is covered. There is lots more support in Wales and Scotland than England! Joseph reminds me so much of my son, there are always good days and bad days which I know is so hard, my son is still finding life difficult but he now has some more help to give him a few better days! I am sending you loads of love and hugs, I remember the bad days from a young age! ❤❤❤

You are doing a fantastic job with Joseph. I have Aspergers and cannot wear certain things…like Joseph, I feel trapped in my clothes and can’t wear jumpers, socks, closed over shoes etc. there is no rhyme or reason to it…he is such an amazing little boy and you are both amazing parents…

Your doing brilliant! Bless him just nayve everything from Xmas etc catching up with him does he have ear defenders to wear when he's out and about? ( sorry if you said he does have if I missed it) maybe try taking a fidget toy or something similar to distract him ❤

I think as soon as you get a diagnosis for Joseph you will get mote support and resources to help support him and you! It's a long long process ( I worked in child care for 20+yrs) it's so hard and very impossible to predict every episode. You are doing a great job don't be hard on yourselves its a hard balance to get. Xx

Poor guy just needs to have the tablet and headset to block things out. Please research anything the doctors tell you. Remember, we are basically gini pigs. A lot of symptoms mimic others. Are you able to get season passes for Landmark? The children really enjoy it & y'all go often enough it might be worth it! Glad Joseph was able to recover, bless him! Littles seem to always need a reset when they've fallen asleep in the car. So wonderful to have many hands to help out. So amazing to hear Florence talk in complete sentences! ❤ wow!

Zoe and Ben. We have all been there regarding our children having melt downs and screaming. I have three boys and they all had their turn believe me. I do understand that Joseph can't help it. I hope he gets a diagnosis soon. I bet once he's at school you will definitely have more help with his problems. My middle son, I often wondered why he wasn't great at sitting still for long periods of time. You know you don't want to compare with your other children. My son just like Joseph. You could forgive him anything. Big giant smiles and very loving. Unfortunately at school well the fuss school. They kept complaining about him. How he didn't like sitting to write and draw. He would sit to listen to stories or play with Lego . Anything practical. Anyway. I changed schools. We had moved to a new home anyway. So it made sense. Our son Robert began to be unhappy as well . The new school saw, noticed his problems straight away. He was diagnosed with Adhd. Also he has dyslexia. So school was pretty hard for him. He is now a builder and has done well for himself. Also a dad to two gorgeous children. Boy and girl . He is a very clever man and so kind hearted. He even now finds it hard to stay still. At home he cooks a lot. Also likes to clean lol. So this partner is overjoyed with that. I do hope Joseph like I said enjoys school when he starts. He's such a sweetheart. Love when he smiles. Can't believe how grown up Flo is getting. She talks so well for her age. I need to visit Scotland. My dad comes from Scotland. Yes very proud of his roots. My parents used to live in Edinburgh. When my dad was in the army. I have visited Edinburgh a few times whilst they were there. I would like to visit a lot more places. Love watching your adorable family. All the best for 2024.. 😍

Lovely vlog with all the lovely lights I think Joseph is a gorgeous wee boy seen some big changes in him recently he is getting more talkative and a very smiling happy wee boy everything has probably been overwhelming today for him I know what it’s like when you’re child is having a meltdown and people stare and think they are acting up been there done it wore the t shirt my grandson has a chromosome condition duplication 15 which you can be diagnosed with Autism ADHD epilepsy different difficulties speech and language delay learning difficulties developmental delay he’s just turned 11 he’s a very young 11 year old and when he was younger if he had been sleeping in the car when you lifted him out the screaming when he was at nursery or even out with my daughter and us when he had meltdowns people would stare at him he has moderate learning difficulties and a lot of the above down to his chromosome condition he’s currently going through chemotherapy as he was diagnosed with leukaemia just a few months ago it’s definitely worth asking for a diagnosis I know you think it’s only a piece of paper but a diagnosis can help in so many ways as my son who is 33 has Asperger’s syndrome it took till he was 10 years old to get a diagnosis same thing every parents night at School till finally his teacher said I think he might be on the spectrum and got the ball rolling we knew ourselves as he had all the signs since a toddler lining up his cars and trains if someone broke that line the meltdowns he had toilet training was not working till he was 6 never started school till he was six and half due to his developmental delay and everything and education phycologist assessed him and agreed with us and nursery he was under peadtriatic service since toddler I don’t know if they didn’t know enough about the autistic spectrum back then but we got a diagnosis sorry about the long post but it’s definitely worth pushing for a diagnosis if he’s in education they can refer him I think it’s taking longer due to the Covid delay
