    it amazes me how many people don't like the sounds on these kits. Don't get me wrong, they are not perfect. However, the sounds are good enough that I can play along to pretty much anything and it sounds decent.

      I agree and I'm amazed at the sounds of the TD27 on the VAD-507 kit which can be as realistic as you want them to be. Take any acoustic set and place it in a variety of environments and it will go from great sounding to crap depending on the room.
      That's the beauty of edrums, you can make them sound however you want regardless of room acoustics.

      these sound so much closer to real drums than rolands other kits, if all kits on their modules sounded like this, i think less people would complain

    • @LDdrums20
      @LDdrums20 Před 9 měsíci +4

      Most folks don't configure the trigger settings adequately. By default sensitivity settings are quite low so you have to hit very hard to get this sound. Every one has their own dynamics so it's key to adjust that to make them sound good.

    • @ex0148
      @ex0148 Před 8 měsíci +2

      If you hear this kit played through Superior Drummer 3 the difference is night and day, the ONLY reason I have a TD27 is for the digital snare, Ride, Hi-Hat and if I could get positional sensing without it I wouldn't have got the TD27 at all it's not garbage it's just bad sounds.

    I guarantee all the people who say that the sounds are terrible, wouldn't be able to tell the difference between acoustic or electric in a lineup...lol
    That's with or without a band playing behind them.
    Not if you got the levels right, through a decent sound system.
    Live or otherwise, the sounds in this kit are amazing, and the kit plays/feels better then any ekit to this day minus the TD-50.
    There's so much to tweek and too much you can do to every sound in this module.
    You can spend hours on just one snare, tom or cymbal and get it to sound any way you want.
    Try bringing an acoustic kit to play house music or techno style stuff, or, especially a gig where you need to watch your volume level or you loose the gig if the drums are too loud.
    Plus you fold them up, stick them in a bag with wheels and it only takes up 1/8th the room of a acoustic set in the car, van or whatever yer riding in.
    Quicker to set up, and always in tune...lol
    With that said, of course you can't get all the rim shot variety of sounds and every facet off every ping on the high hats, cymbals... Etc... but hey...
    This new digital stuff is getting very close !!!
    There's definitely a place for both, and that's the spice of life !!!!
    And it's only gonna get better and better !!!
    Personally, I'd rather be able to play at home and not bug anyone, then never able to play because I bother everyone...
    Hahahahahahaha
    And by the way, that was super impressive drumming on every setting !!!
    That was great !!!
    Thanks for the video !!!!!!

      @@ChontosDrumLessons they're definitely not meant to be there! I've sort of figured out what's happened, but I don't know why. After I did the factory reset, and then reinstalled my back up (which included several custom kits) I realised that my backup reinstall had overwritten all the new Version 2.0 kits... so I did another factory reset, and when I started going through all the new kits, I noticed the loops on some of the kits and thought it seemed strange. So this morning I've done another factory reset, but this time ticked the "Reset with User Sample" box, and everything seems back to as it should be. It seems that somehow all the samples in my custom kits had got randomly integrated into the new Version 2.0 kits when I reinstalled my backup. I don't know why!

    I truly do not understand or agree with all the hate Roland gets over the sound of this module. In my opinion, I'm not looking for a non-studio sounding kit like you get with Efnote. Sure, that style of sound is amazing when practicing by yourself, where you want to recreate an un-produced acoustic kit as accurately as possible, but the Efnote sound is NOT amazing when playing in a band through a PA where you want everyone to sound perfectly mixed as though you were in a recording studio. Under that circumstance, I absolutely love the Roland sounds. They cut through the mix better and don't get lost in the mix ever. I'm a producer, guitarist, pianist, and drummer, and I literally love the sound of Roland toms and cymbals over other brands, and within the Roland brand, I specifically prefer the snares and kicks on the TD-27 over the TD-17. (and I only enjoy about 2 of the snare choices on the TD-25)
    So it really confuses me how frequently people trash talk the Roland sounds on the TD-27 when it's legitimately my favorite out of all their modules. It's most of the quality from their TD-50 without the higher price. Isn't it interesting how one person can deem these sounds "trash" while another one thinks they're pretty great?
