cobb sounds so much better than any exhaust because of its deep sexy tone even if its not as loud as a fart cannon ricer potato launcher it is phenomenal ive had so many different exhausts and i really enjoyed my tomei i miss it but for my kids and wife and neighborhood cobb will always be the winner

You can see the absolute look 👀 of relief wash over Phil to have the Titanium Cobb installed. Now he can lose the Extra Strength Tylenol in his glove box for Tomei exhaust induced migraines. His neighbour can toss the voodo doll of Phil into the trash now too! 🤣🤣. There is balance once again in the STIverse.

You need to ask him about that can of red RPMs on the back shelf and whether he needs to go get more
Exhaust still needs to wear in. My ETS quiet is a straight through muffler design as well. Once the packing filled with a bit of carbon it got more of a tone and volume
It sounds really good on that Cobb exhaust. Quiet while cruising bet it doesn’t drone. And just the perfect loud level when you get on it. When you get older you learn to appreciate those quiet but loud when it only needs to be loud kind of exhaust systems

I have the Borla Stype quad tip on my wrx, perfect adult exhaust. Nice and quiet until I get on it. Sounds and looks great man, you made a good move
I use to keep my Tomei just for when I wanted a loud exhaust. But would drive mainly on the hks.
I prefer loud with quad tip so I have ETS Extreme CAT back with mid pipe resonator. That Cobb looks great and quality appears to be top notch. Sounds really good also. I would love to hang out with you guys but I’m in Chicago area. Love the channel 👍

Has Phil ever consider the R400 exhaust? Considering how it has the split muffler design and how small they are he might honestly find the loudness just perfect on that one where you could hear it really nice if you get on it but still quiet enough for cruising and driving around the neighbors. I absolutely love mine.

I have a Cobb SS exhaust on my 2016. Sounds great, not much drone, can get boring...but then I have a UEL/down pipe sitting in the garage so it hasn't even woken up yet. And the tips look OEM-ish. Not the most exciting exhaust but does the job. I wish I could switch out for the Titanium exhaust mufflers but it's likely a totally different design...
Right on. It'll wake up once you get the UEL and downpipes installed. It won't be that loud, but the tone will change.

We can't test them all. They are many systems that fall in between the two systems. If we got the Greddy, someone is gonna comment, "you should've got the Cobb," etc.
My WRX Channel I’ve had the Greddy with a grimspeed catless downpipe for about 5 years no neighbor complaints and I’m Surrounded by senior citizens on my block! I understand what you’re talking about though! But once you get up in the rpms that’s where the greddy is great it’s heavy though unlike the Cobb!
You also have a WRX and not an STI. I assume your on the stock turbo and header. Phil has an STI with a bigger Turbo and UEL Header with catless downpipe. The volume output on your car is not going to be the same as an STI with an UEL header and larger turbo. The Greddy exhaust systems have always been good exhaust systems though.
My WRX Channel ohh yeah I’m not saying that That would be his sound because his sound is completely different than mine I’m just saying it could’ve been a better option because it’s going from a Cobb to a Tomei or like two totally different sounds meaning the cob is pretty quiet and the Tomei is as loud as you can get! So maybe meeting in the middle could of been a better option!
There are not very many people locally (if any) with the Cobb titanium. It's VERY difficult to project/predict loudness until you have the exhaust on hand. Did you know 100% the Cobb would be on the quiet on a larger turbo STI with an UEL and catless downpipe before this video? Yeah.

For sure. To be honest, I did recommend the AWE Touring to Phil.
@@CarsWithJR I have the AWE touring on my RA. I also have Tomei UEL headers and the Cobb catted DP. It's still really freaking loud on cold starts. I did have the track edition installed for about two years. Bought the mufflers from AWE recently. I can't hear any difference on cold starts. I'm really contemplating the COBB Ti but not sure if i want to go down that rabbit hole. Started with a R400, then track edition, now touring edition.

@@CarsWithJR It's been so long i can't remember. I put the R400 on the car right when it arrived off the truck in 2018. Shortly after the AWE came out and i wanted it. Once i put headers on, the car sounded awful with the track edition. The deep tone was gone and sounded to raspy.

I seriously feel like this is the best exhaust out there when all categories are considered. It's amazing in asthetics, sound, weight, power increase and build quality. The best exhaust should be quiet when you need it, and loud when you want it 👍 I hope he keeps it!

shouldve tried the AWE exhaust sounds better IMO.
There are so many exhaust systems on the market to try out. Can't test them all. No matter what exhaust we get, someone is going to say "you should've tried xxx exhaust". The AWE has been documented many times on youtube. We wanted to do something that isn't well documented.
